@@alipanroosendaal9503 I took my precautions ;) that explains I preceded my remark by "may seem pompous"... French has often this cliché to be "arrogant" for foreigners... I have lived 4 years in germany and many months in indian ocean (Mayotte, Glorious isles and Réunion)... I have many friends all around the world and I interest myself in other cultures, and there's sometimes a gap between the perception the foreigners have of the French and what the french think they have :D lol

Say what you will about France, but they (almost) always send their style, their language and great singers. I don't know if they will win, but once again, this might be one of the best songs this year. Of course, best doesn't always mean most popular and that is where it often goes wrong for our French friends. Oh, since I don't know if you saw my previous comments, Loved your dreamcatcher review (try PIRI or Scream, you're gonna like those i think). I find sad that international listener expect France to produce eternally Piaf style chansons ! France has a great history of techno music too.

We have seen in the past that the best songs don't often win Eurovision. The system is done that France and few "different" language countries can't win, French is no more an international language and has lost alot of its past prestige. It's a pity because 1 this song has a true meaning and a message in it 2 the singer performed it perfectly ... This one has a little chance to win for once because it can convince eastern european countries which have the nostalgy of the "old" France and this song is typically a traditional french song, a mix between the disapeared singers as Piaf and Barbara. Whatever will happen, it's a very emotional and a typical french song, incredibly well interpreted and if this song is commercialised in my country, I will buy it.

I read a lot of comments that say it's gonna win but I struggle with believing it. Our songs often weren't very well-ranked so I just wait to see if it's gonna happen. I would love to because I've never watched my country win the Eurovision Song Contest.

Personaly its wayy better when people first react and then talk about it. The constant pausing just taks away from reaction and makes it not enjoyable
