You can't believe a word a Broker tells you. The Broker will tell you anything to get the load covered, and the shipper will tell the Broker anything to get the load moved cheaply. Start checking the reviews for the shipper... bet this is not the first time the shipper has abused a driver... be sure and leave a review of the shipper, help your fellow driver out.

I've played their game of hurry up and wait and it sucks, van and reefer freight is worse I think. Just get yourself a hobby or read to pass the time. I ran over the road for 24 years and I have all kinds of stories about waiting. Be safe and keep on truckin.

I don't play those games at all. They got 2 hours to load my rig, or I leave. I've never gotten paid detention time. Ever.
So I don't play games. 600 mile run? Not worth my time to wait. And it doesn't matter if I'm at the shippers or receivers. Load my rig, or I'm gone.

I’m no longer pull flatbed but I cannot understand why you do flatbed and not dry van?
Because generally speaking, majority of the loads are FCFS ( first come first serve/no appointment) I would have hard time dealing with appointments. Also it’s is easier to find loads for flatbed than it is for dryvan.

Drivers need to take charge and stop accepting this nonsense . Give the load back and send them a bill for wasting your time . Stop working for free .If they didn't pay the employees they wouldn't show up for work and no one would blame them
