    • @HunterStephensKY
      @HunterStephensKY  Před 25 dny

      Never had TC seize up, also ain’t saying it cant happen. However for a 4r100 or E40D. I’d still follow what I did in this video and technically it’s studs and nuts. 4 for gas and 6 for diesel.
      If you want bolts work on a 4l60e

    • @HunterStephensKY

      Yes the only way to replace the Flex plate is to unbolt the bell housing bolts to engine block bolt x6 external. Along with 6 torque converter nuts internally that attach your converter to your flex plate (diesel) 4 on a gas.

    Not bad for a rookie DIY’er, I’ve been turning wrenches for 20+ years and still do some of the things you do in my driveway when not at the shop. Safety is ALWAYS more important than any repair job in even the worst circumstances, but quality and accuracy is key to a reliable repair. Torque wrench’s are cheap these days and there’s no excuse for German torque excuses or jokes except for fools that think they have any skill or pride in their repair with “Good-N-Tight” as a measure of torque. Hence the reason why many people break down from sheared bolts while rock crawling or other 4X4 events, as well as the guys that sling U-Joint parts while try to launch at a drag strip. “Good-N-Tight” wasn’t tight enough, Obviously!
    First good video to a point, safety doesn’t mean vehicle on undeveloped surface, rear tires on sender blocks wood and metal ramp in grass digging into the ground. Couple sheets of 3/4” 4X8’ plywood one front and rear two pair of harbor freight 3-Ton or 6-Ton jack stands and on a more level surface would be much safer and much more trustworthy. Safety isn’t safety if every considerable thought isn’t given to possible bodily injury or death by ignorance, no offense.
    Second good job on the parts descriptions and wrench turning for a DIY’er, good techniques and unless I missed it which maybe I did. Only watched this video and not others so I maybe missed why swapping what appears to be a rebuilt tranny? Key points to remember as a DIY’er, you break it replace it NO ZIP TIES for bracketry “dipstick tube”. Wooden blocks are never safe, not in a driveway, field nor ever for working under the vehicle weight of several thousand pounds that can and will kill you if given the chance to do so.
    Third torque all drive train, frame crossmember and rotating component bolts/nuts. Anything other than that you deserve what happens if bolts back out. Locktite is not the rule it’s in addition to the rule, the rule is to torque the aforementioned bolts/nuts. Inspect any plastic linkage bushings and replace if any signs of ware or damage are found no exceptions. Always use proper OEM recommended or equivalent fluids in all drivetrain components, NO EXCEPTIONS.
    Last but CERTAINLY not the least store brand garbage fluids are for fools that believe foolish advertising and have no real understanding of the component and the fluids the depend on. Also, don’t think that exorbitantly priced hyped up fluids are the way to go either, save that for the upper class of foolish that really believe those are better. Stay in the middle and go from there not the cheapest and certainly not the most expensive but, modestly priced and good quality fluids are the best and proven to be the most reliable.
