You know for a role he hated, Hugh Grant did a phenomenal job playing the Oompa Loompa

We watched it just over a week ago. We bought our tickets expecting an empty theater about 7 hours ahead of time. Wow were we wrong. Almost 50% of the theater was full. It was a fun experience overall. Even my autistic son enjoyed it and he never watches movies at home... or TV. Thank you for such a lovely film.

When we were watching this movie and when we got to the part where the Oompa Loompa started singing, my sister was singing along and I was dancing along. (We grew up with the book and watched both the old and the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movies) and my step brother (who didn't grow up with the franchise) asked "Why are you dancing" then I looked him in the eye and said "You don't understand!"

I never EVER imagined I'd ever see him as an Oompa Loompa.

I've just been sick so Lofty had to take care of me this week.
I was at work and was going to go out for a walk with the others who work there, and then when 20 minutes had passed I started to feel a little sick so then I said this to the others: I feel a little sick so I must go home.
And I called Lofty and said this: You Lofty. I feel a little sick so you must come and pick me up as soon as possible.
Lofty then replied like this: Huh, are you sick?
I replied with a big coughing fit: Yes, I am, so you must come quickly because I have caught a cold and I can't bear to be at work and I also have a fever.
Lofty replied: Well then, I can come and get you.
After that I hung up and sat and waited for Lofty to come pick me up and once he got to the spot where I was lying on the ground he picked me up in his arms and carried me all the way home.
So basically it was entirely his fault, had he not been sleeping on the job, Wonka would have not taken a single bean, and the Chocolate Cartel would have been also very happy now that I think of it
He was on to something. Ever since I first heard this version of the song, it never left my mind. Bravo to the songwriters and orchestra for making this ruinously catchy tune!
This is actually my favorite scene in Wonka
hugh grant playing an oompa loompa like a british royalty is pretty golden. the juxtaposition of a small man talking like a rich british dude is pure hilarity.
I find it funny that the other Oompa-Loompas are dancing in unison on the shore as they're watching Lofty sail away. I wonder if it's like a war dance as if to say don't come back until you've repaid us.

It happened on Saturday last week.
I was going to the bathroom to do something and then the water started without me touching the faucet.
And then I called out to Lofty so that he could stop the ghost that visited me while I was on the toilet.
And it sounded like this: Lofty! Help!
It's haunting inside my toilet.
Could you please try to get the ghost out of my apartment so I can go to the bathroom in peace?
Lofty said: What's going on here?
I said this: It's haunted in here in my toilet so I can't go in there and do a thing.
Lofty then said this: Well, well, then we have to look into this.
Lofty The Oompa loompa just came in with a sword and shield to defeat the ghost, and he punched the ghost seven times before the ghost collapsed on the ground and faded away.
But before the ghost faded away, it showed its true form and it turned out to be one of the other Oompa loompas who wanted to scare me.

Whenever I watch the original movie and it came to the part with Wonka explaining Loompa Land, I thought it be something like this. Though I thought the Oompa Loompas would wear something like leaves or animal skins instead of those striped outfits.

This movie surprised me. Never had any intention of watching but decided, out of boredom, to catch this. Man, this was wholesome, whimsical fun that Hollywood never makes. No forced messages. No cringey diversity for the sake of diversity. No feminist. Just pure, wholesome, fun.
You expressed my thoughts. I was extremely skeptical... but it was a breath of fresh air to see a movie free from the dogmas of political correct mainstream: no rhetoric, no forcing, no "indoctrinating" messages placed between the lines. Just a beautiful story, genuine and pure, with beautiful characters... where sweetness and dreams win over the cartels. We need movies like this.
