I was looking up this band thinking "nobody could've possibly heard of these guys enough to warrant a cover and because the singer passed away, they may never get the recognition they deserve". Not only did you prove me wrong but I think Aleah would be proud with you nailing such a delicate song.

Trees of Eternity is _kind_ of a niche band in the death metal scene, thus the surprise, but this Malukah & ToE is on the top of my list of "the combos I live for" along with the Tuomas Holopainen, Johanna Kurkela & Don Rosa Scrooge McDuck album. Aleahs voice is something, for me at least, that will never be matched by a mortal...ever again. This ist not meant to say anything about her skill as a singer but about the pure emotional depth of her voice. This beauty is now lost to this world and it still makes me sad sometimes.

This a great cover/ tribute but nothing will ever *improve* on the original song. Hour of the Nightingale as an album is a heart-breaking, beautiful masterpiece.

Whenever I listen to Trees of Eternity, Swallow the Sun or anything she has remotely touched, I'm overwhelmed with the thought that Aleah is gone, and how empty the world is without her. Very few musicians have moved me as much as she has done for me.

Trees of eternity is a project done by Juha Raivio and Aleah Stanbridge. Sadly Aleah passed away from cancer before the album was released.

I like this version more than the one from the original band. Your voice, for me, seems warmer, like cuddling us close to smother the gravity of the situation. And I like the singularity of the voice as well... idk how else to call it. On the original song it seems she has back up vocals... or another recording going with the new one.
Once again Malukah, that was utterly beautiful! It's a shame I haven't heard of Trees of Eternity until now; that song was so good, and I'm currently listening to their album now and its amazing. Aleah Stanbridge's untimely passing from cancer at age 39 in 2016 makes their album 'Hour Of The Nightingale' even more special, because it's the only album Trees wrote. They disbanded rather than seek a replacement for her.
