- Paul Stanley of the rock group KISS was interviewed in 1985 for GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE by host Terry David Mulligan. Paul was born Stanley Harvey Eisen and was in a local band Rainbow. He joined Gene Simmons band Wicked Lester in the early 70s and when that disbanded, KISS was formed in 1973 with Peter Criss (drums & vocals) and Ace Frehley (lead guitar & vocals) joining Paul (vocals & rhythm guitar) & Gene (vocals & bass guitar). They released their debut album in 1974 and are now one of the world's best selling bands of all time, with worldwide sales of over 100 million records. All music videos have been deleted. Here's a guy who was committed to portraying the rock star image. Reporter: "Was it cold?" Paul: "Only until it heated up. Then it got really hot.". I doubt that he'd act so artificial these days.

Its hard to watch... Looking back Kiss wasn't very comfortable without the makeup. Those sun glasses are lame.

One of my favorite singers but he lost it in the 80's and now has no voice. I met KISSa few times and Eric Carr Peter Criss were the nicest. Ace was okay a little drunk. When I met Paul and Gene I can say I didn't find them to be very nice.
He sounded way better in the 80s and 90s than he did in the 70s.
