Provide clean air, water and good roads in india and these racist western media like the BBC will look like buffoons.
If you genuinely think the BBC is racist, you know nothing about the BBC.
This channel is becoming too racist for my liking, I am not a white person but chanting old while men to describe the Lords is unacceptable to me, India is trending in the right direction now but there is a reason but the level of corruption in the country is high for a country aspiring to become a leading country in the world. If the people of England don't like the status quo they can vote to eradicate the house of the Lords.
Great Britain is an interesting country as it is a constitutional monarchy without a constitution. Sometimes this fact beats back as it is not defined what has to be done. Most countries need a higher majority (e.g. 2/3) to change the constitution or even a public vote, but not the British.
Israel struggles presently as they have no constitution and changing all laws may happen with a simple majority.
Also, the constitution is not a wonder drug against dictatorship as Hitler and some others have shown, but in many cases, it is a guide to avoid a state crisis.
But I do not see any cause why the British political system is criticized by India. Don't they have enough problems to deal with? From the 1950s to the 1970s we heard a lot about India in continental Europe, but since then the messages have become fewer and fewer.
Well as you can see the UK has its problems but they put fingers in our mess all of the time. Just go look at BBC, how much it pokes, then again all they do is spin some nonsensical propaganda. Why? What business do they have in Indian politics?
What about Indian parliament?

For high caste Indians like the presenter, criticism of any other group as 'descendants of slave owners' is unbelievable hubris.
As of 2018 (according to the Global Slavery Index) there were around 8 million slaves in India, more than any country.
From where did you pulled that data, from your ass?
B utt hurt a bit Dear boyy? Imagine if she had quoted Slave numbers from the Raj era then for the EIC AND BRIT RAJ not just in the subcontinent but globally including IRELAND .. FEW 100 MILLION?
@SDW3-6-9 the Irish were never taken as slaves. Neither were Indians.
Total slaves taken to US colonies was 400,000 with a similar amount to the Caribbean.
So total for Britain is 800,000 over the space of about 250 years.
Most African slaves went to Spanish and Portuguese colonies in Central or South America, or to the Ottoman/Arab world.
Total number of slaves transported across the Atlantic ocean was 11 million, so India is very close to that figure in just 2018.
@@tomjohnson9833 Do read up William Petty on the topic. As for Indians indentured in the caribbean, a BBC TV program shows the facts clearly too..not a pretty history at all.
@@SDW3-6-9 indentured is different to enslaved, which I'm sure you know.
Either way, you're not surely claiming there were ever anywhere near 8 million endentured workers in the Caribbean, right?
In reality, the British were the first to outlaw and actively fight against slavery. Something that didn't happen in the Ottoman and Arab world (for example) until the early 20th century.
From the sounds of things, this video is a BJP-mandated response to a recent BBC investigation that layed out some embarrassing truths about Indian 'democracy'.
Why the producers choose this very US leftist angle is beyond me though, and its executed with such lazy, ham-fisted hubris (as most of this lady's 'reports' are).
The US leftist approach only works if youre talking from the position of the USA, which is a relatively egalitarian, pluralistic and free advanced economy.
India, on the other hand, has currently a quite fascistic nationalist government of wealthy bureaucrats, a 1000 year history of strong class-based oppression which still exists, an increasingly controlled media and an obsession with ancient tradition that the House of Lords couldnt even come close to.
Learn your colonial history n also see the number of India attacking content on British media. Extremely biased documentaries as well. Your prejudice about India too stems from that same narrative! Very biased left wing narrative about India! You don’t trust left wing narrative about your own country but happily consume left wing biased narrative about India as if it’s facts!
@Artrader_em8ko I don't think I've ever seen a BBC program about India. Though apparently this angry video was prompted by a BBC investigation into Indian corruption.
There is no pattern here, just a single investigation that BJP didn't like
@@tomjohnson9833 Not sure what video you are talking about as I have seen none. in India the government has done many ED raids. They did get Rs 350 Crore cash in the opposition MP’ s house. The ruling government was very happy as expected. There are a few scam cases against opposition leaders which are still in court. The verdict will be taken by the Supreme Court if they are involved in the scam or not. Ruling Government can only send ED to do raids to get proof to give the court. Most are state government scams involving smaller local parties not central government.
@@tomjohnson9833 Coming to the BBC, they have many documentaries on India, most controversial being blaming Indian PM directly for the 2002 Gujrat riots😅 He has been cleared by the Indian Supreme Court when the opposition was the ruling government n Modi was still the Gujarat state minister. That documentary was banned in India as its false one sided narrative could create communal tensions. There were still a lot of protests! Imagine telling 300 million Muslim population that their PM was involved in riots against Muslims. Irresponsible journalism at its worst!
Who is BBC to undermine our Supreme Court in a case which went on for years n followed by all news channels? 20 years later they blame him blatantly in a documentary! The current opposition party which was the central ruling party during the riots did all it could to get proof against Modi but SC found he was not guilty. Later Modi became the PM in 2014. We trust our Supreme court over BBC any day!

I like the First Post's content. But I choose to disagree on this one. Sharma and your team, this covering is a flop. You question the House of Lords from uninformed point of view, and it sounded lower than Kindagarten reporting or analysis.
Despite surging poverty levels in the Great Britain, the House of Lords still plays an important role. Moreover this is not the first time the House of Lords existed while there was poverty. The Great Britain has a unique style of Mornach leadership, which has survived for centuries now and kept the country afloat. That, on its own, is something to admire. Other countries should learn from it too.
