You're just guessing that the work load is doubled. Do you know that they were working efficiently and to capacity before? Do you truly know the workload and time involved to support these changes if managed correctly? I think youre just indulging the owner's bad attitude tbh? I'm not a fan of additions like the nick knacks in the rooms (theyre only dust collectors really) but the likes of the stuff at the pool adds value and aren't insurmountable drains on labour.
@71SgtMom, surely you don't actually think Gordon Ramsay sits down and personally designs every restaurant and hotel interiror that his team revamps on his programme? Most hotels I've stayed in from 5 star down to no star have not had vomit camouflaging colour schemes, the furniture was certainly not industrial strength, plus boutique and independent establishments frequently have non standardised decor and flourishes in different rooms to add charm and authenticity and distinguish themselves from the homogenized practices of large chains. Virtually all hotels including the standardised, cookie cutter global chains, above the calibre of a model 6, have throw pillows, even in budget chains. Pool side furniture can be secured and would be in a storm. Things being stolen from hotel rooms is and has always been a hazard with or without nick knacks. Different decor in rooms is a practice to distinguish and diversify from competitors, adds value, and is both commonplace and popular. It is not cost prohibitive and doesn't increase the workload in such a way as to nullify the value it adds. I think you should really question the quality of the interior design training you received if it has blinded you to recognising the reality in front of your face, in the form of successful hotel and accommodation practices across a variety of price bands and international locations which resoundingly disprove virtually everything that you have parroted here.

Excessively reinforced to withstand *extreme* abuse in place of expected wear proportional to the nature of the industry is *not* the norm. *That* actually would be cost prohibitive. Nothing of what I said precluded hotel furnishings from being practical, hard wearing, easily cleanable, etc.

You have to take care of and be responsible for cleaning and treating the water, cleaning up any floats or accessories, etc. And its what you hire people for. An hour or less a day for maintaining a pool in a hotel is not the most backbreaking task in running a hotel. And to complain about it when you got it at no cost is just selfish and makes you sound ungrateful.

I love that the episode was suppose to end when Ramsay leaves, like every other time but this time an owner had a problem and the show continued in a horrible way. Glad she doesn't have the business anymore and a new, and grateful family is running it! That place was beautiful and Gordon saw it, Kelly just always seems to see the little bad things in the largest and greatest things. Such sad.

If you’re wondering what happened after Gordon left -> she raised prices, took away breakfast and put the old menu back and went back to singing. Only a few months later she sold the hotel where a couple took it over and have been successful ever since.

The kind of makeover ramsay did any owner can do it by himself in less than 50k dollar. And also many owners hire best chefs for few days to train their chefs and organize menu. So u can also turn ur hotel from a nightmare to heaven by using your mind and hardwork in very less budget.

Idk larry, its not that hard to take the furnature inside for bad weather, its in new mexico, the desert. Its not like it rains often. the most theyll have to do is dust off the frames and vacuum the fabric every now and then. piece of cake.
Larry Bird, usually pool side furniture is made of fabric that doesn't soak water and is easily wiped clean. All the other things... she has to do anyway, linen or whatever else it is. Nobody wants to go to a hotel and use stuff that hasn't been cleaned for a while. She just doesn't want to work. She wants dirty old furniture and then she wonders why people don't come to her hotel. And with that bad looking furniture and filthy pool, she even had the impression that people thought it was an expensive hotel and that's why they didn't go there. Ridiculous

Exactly. Before covid started i had planned a Tokyo trip, I found a hotel (3 star because I'm not made of money 🤣) but that hotel would have cost me £4,500 approx for the 10 weeks I would be there. So my total trip would cost 10k+ including food and spending money ..and probably a translator. The 5* hotel which was absolutely stunning would have cost £30,000 for the 10 weeks. It looked immaculate in the photos.
Which proves if you put the effort and keep a good hotel business with high standards, you make money. Im sure the 5* hotels have many high level executives and CEO's staying in them. A hotel like this with the new modifications and menu would pull in money np.
