You might have just broken up but all of a sudden your ex is already seeing someone else. You might be wondering, "why did my ex girlfriend move on so fast?"
When your ex moves on quickly, know that it's likely a rebound relationship. A lot of us take things at face value but that shouldn't always be the case (ESPECIALLY ON THIS ONE!) Rebound relationships tend to move a lot quicker than normal relationships because your ex is trying to bring their NEW RELATIONSHIP to where your relationship was before the separation and that says a lot about them not having moved on yet.
It is not impossible to get your ex back if you know how to connect with them emotionally.

The truth is they didn't move on fast at all. They moved on months or even years before they even left the relationship, long before you even knew there was a problem.
Mmm situational it depends. Might have been for you, but the underlining hurts and pains and issues people have make them do things irrationally. Some are narcissist, some are serial daters, etc. a lot want to avoid the pain so they jump into another one quick.

That’s what kills me she told me she mentally checked out a year ago before the break up, but we was still doing stuff and being intimate etc I just don’t get it
I’m gonna be totally honest, less than 2 months of no contact and finding out she’s in a relationship, I stopped caring. I have more important stuff to worry about. I let her move on and right now, I’m moving on. Even though she is my first serious love, it’s over. It hurts sometimes, but I don’t care about her anymore. Not my problem anymore.

Im just as sad thinking about falling out of love with her, forgetting her and moving on as i am with her breaking up with me in the first place. Ive lost the other half of me and the best friend ive ever had. Im 47, had multiple relationships in my life that never felt quite right until her. Ticked all my boxes, she adored me and i her. I finally decided this was the one to spend my life with and when I proposed she was so excited to say yes...less than 6 months later it was over and she moved on to another guy before she even moved out

It happened to me recently we did all these trips and she said for the last to months I’ve looked at you as a friend and I have feeling for someone else, she is now dating that person but she tells me she still loves me, misses me and regrets doing it and she said she can’t come back to me because she can’t face my family and now she’s finding her own place and he’s moving up here and no doubt they’ll start living together but what I don’t understand is if all of this is true what she’s telling me then I don’t get why she can’t come back like to me it makes no sense she’s told me she can’t see me not in her life and that ad it’s killing me I don’t know what to think say or do

Most definitely. That's why it's always good to improve oneself and even seek therapy. Rushing into a rebound relationship will usually end in disaster.

Thats not always true I did everything you said and my ex still lef I was supportive loving loyal and did everything he asked and he kep secrets lied was on dating sires was texting a woman from his job about are personal issues he did everything to show me he wasn't interested and I didn't leave him I tried getting help for us he declined everything I asked

What I can't wrap my head around is how they are able to even attempt to connect romantically with someone else so soon? I only tried a casual fling to make me feel better and I felt physically sick because it wasn't my ex. How do they even force the illusion of happiness around someone else like that unless they're a sociopath? I just cannot understand it. I don't even want to be around someone else. As much as they may have this internal conflict, how do they even make it so convincing that they're happy?
Because they stopped loving you like you love them a while ago. I felt it towards the end. Even resentment

At this point, he's chosen to be with someone awful, so I don't know how I could ever be intimate with him again, you know? I envision him slobbering all over that beast and it's repulsive.
It won't happen, but how could you block that thought out? I guess it would take a huge amount of clarity (to know the rebound was really more of a reaction) and unconditional love/acceptance that we're all flawed and make regrettregrettable choices. It really doesn't have to be true. This is a thinking pattern that hurts people too much, unnecessarily. Sometimes people move on fast to avoid their own pain
My ex posted a pic of her out at a bar I recently took her to. She was with her new friend. I unfriended her on all platforms so I can’t see any of her content but I left her as a follower so she can torture herself if she wants but I won’t play that game.

If it was fast then it's a rebound and rebound relationships/marriages mostly fails. However, if she's genuinely happy then she found someone who was better for her and it's best that you move on and better yourself.

I have a similar experience. I don’t think it’s healthy to make a long-term decision with someone you haven’t been with long-term. Maybe your ex moved on fast because they struggle to be alone.
That’s horrible dude..you dodged a bullet bro. My ex just left me after 7 years and an engagement for some guy and to feel free and fuck who she wants. I’m devastated but I’m grateful that she did this now before we were married, had kids or a home. That woulda destroyed my life

Me and my ex dated for about a year and a half. And she really didn't show me off till the middle of it. And yes she never lied to having a boyfriend but she was very hesitant to bring me around all her friends and family. We ended up having issues over a guy that she kept saying its a friend. And also other issues besides hime towards the end. We had a bad break up over him cause she changed and hid his name for a while cause she said I overreact over guys. Then about 2 weeks later she was with him and said they just clicked. But she still contacts me about her family issues cause I was always there. Recently she is financially unstable and her dad has heart surgery later this week. Ohh yeah we broke up in the beginning of December and they started dating at right before Christmas. She has a lot of stress at the moment and just last week she was talking about the bad things about him to me cause she was stressing and I wasn't too sure she was with him or not. But suddenly after she started posting him up and showing him off wayyy faster than our relationship. It took her 5 months for me to meet her full family and he meets them just recently. She changed her whole life style to "move on" from me. I dont get how she replaced me within a few weeks after our break up. And the saddest part is that I had a "spark up" date to get it rolling again. But she ended up not going with me but to find out she was with him. We didn't talk for a week from the break up thats why I wanted a lil surprise date. And her siblings tell me most nights she still cries about us ending. But I don't understand if she has a new man and she says she is over me. Can someone explain what is happening.
I’m in a similar situation. My ex told me she was just a friend. We had all hung out together multiple times. She’s the reason we broke up but now I think he’s with her.

My ex don't post on social media but he is definitely happy and doing well he rearly get his kids anymore which tells me he's doing everything he can to keep her even dissing his kids he making alot of time for her and hardly enough time for his kids its really sad

5 months after the break up, he hasnt reached out not even once ... he went from super caring to nothing at all. I reached out around a month ago to see if he is healthy since the whole corona situation was really bad around the region he lived, he was taking forever to answer, i tried to see if we can have a proper talk but he showed me he didn't want to... nothing since then
It's 3 years late but I'm still going to respond as I'm in the same boat now. She broke up with me over a year ago and couldn't tell me why. I guess there were multiple reasons in both sides but I stayed way to long until she just decided to cut ties. It still hurts because she now lives with a new guy and is "happy" on social media presenting her relationship even tho she explicitly told me she wouldn't do that ever. Interesting what people do to get your attention when they feel like they need to "get back at you" hope she moved on and really fucking hope I'll be able to do so as well soon. Wish me luck

How does one go about helping ones x realise this? This is exactly what I see my x doing and shes fighting for it (because coming to terms with it and dealing is too hard and too much of a struggle, as I see it). Not specifically because I want her to come back and try again, but also for her sake as a person even though we might not get back together at any point.
Feel the same way with my ex. He’s totally into codependent relationships, while I’m healing, he jumps right into the next and I really just want the best for him

If they regret it or feel they've made a mistake and then they'll start missing you. If they found someone better then no, but that's highly unlikely. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

When someone checks out emotionally while still in a relationship then attaches to someone else soon after break up it's called monkey branching (directly going from one relationship to another). Technically speaking monkey branching occurs when they had someone already lined up before they ended things with their previous relationship so it's not exactly the same as a rebound. It's not considered healthy behavior and the new relationship will probably eventually end the same way (especially if this has always been the pattern). This is because the person didn't really give themselves time and space to explore what went wrong before jumping ship/moving on to someone else and therefore didn't mature or grow from the experience. If they were unhappy, for example, before throwing the towel in did they communicate with their partner, try to resolve problems, look at the role they played in a less than satisfying situation? It's easier to check out emotionally (while still staying in the relationship) than taking steps to either improve the relationship or leave. So are they ready for a relationship straight away after the break up? Perhaps. However, unless they've done the inner work (and if they were quick to move on, even if they had already checked out emotionally, this suggests they didn't give themselves the necessary space and time to) it won't be a healthy one.
