Hiking in South Snowdonia - a day hike starting in Dinas Mawddwy and around Foel Dinas

We took a hiking holiday staying in an AirBnB in Dinas Mawddwy, in the south of Snowdonia national park, Wales. During the trip we had a good few hikes in the area, which I am splitting up into a series of short videos.
This is the first of them, starting in Dinas Mawddwy and summiting the hill to the west - Foel Dinas. This apparantly means "City Mountain" if Wikipedia is correct. The summit stands at 472.2 m (1,549 ft), with no trig point or anything to mark the top. There is a small lake on the top, and the walk took us past the old Minllyn quarry.
Foel Dinas is part of the Dyfi hills, the highest of which is Maesglase (678.5 m (2,226 ft)), which the walk can be easily modified to take in, as we started on the path ascending the ridge up to it. The route took us on the Cambrian Way, which I recently walked on during my last wild camping video.
The hike should be about 4.4 miles, but as I missed the intended path we actually did 5.3 miles. It took us 4 hours in total, with a total moving time of 1 hour 42 mins.
We where then able to drive through the stunning scenery and out to Barmouth to take in a stunning sunset on the beach.
Next up, taking Dotty up her first mountain, Cadair Idris.

Thanks Mark, it was another stunning area in Wales and a surprise trip for me. The sat nav took us on the b road from Bala to Dinas Mawddwy, it was a stunning drive through the valleys and hills. We did climb Cadair Idris, my dogs first mountain. Just thought with day hikes to do them as separate videos, so that will be coming soon!
