- RetroBlasting concludes its Rogue One special in a massive video that's all about the scale of Hasbro's Rogue One vehicles, as well as the scale of Hasbro's entire Star Wars line since 1995! We go from Power of the Force 2 to Power of the Jedi to Saga to Original Trilogy Collection to The Vintage Collection and back again!

"A Millennium Falcon that was five-feet wide...."
Hold on, I need to recover from the awesomeness of that mental image.
Yeah - and that's what Kenner execs said (understandably) wouldn't be possible.
I'm glad the Hasbro execs back in the day must have been drunk when they approved the USS Flagg!
+Kevin Guhl well the five foot falcon would have been for the dolls so... Not as big as it would have been if it had been for the figures.
K J I always wished for a star destroyer the size of the U.S.S Flagg.even a deathstar the size of terror dome cobra base.
Well the G.I Joe's U.S.S Flagg for G.I Joe was 7 feet long...
A 5 foot Millennium Falcon is not a bad idea..
I love how thoughtful and thorough you are with collectors and thinking about playability aspects.
Come on, don't you remember that classic scene in Rogue One where Jyn and the Shoretroopers have a NERF war?
+Jomaster The Second hahahahaha
That was just after the drunken brawl in the canteen wasn't it? lol KC Jom
Jomaster The Second yeah,it’s an extended scene only on Blu ray
George Lucas is back on board with Star Wars apparently. Give it a few years and it’ll be remade because blasters offend people.
They just remade the movie scene so they fight with finger guns
Hasbro should really have someone that was young during the Original Trilogy years on their R&D staff to test their toys in real play situations during before they are mass produced and released.
So true with each and every point! ! Thank you for vocalising these observations each and every one of us true Star Wars fans and collectors have made! Great video 👍👍
it's a shame Hasbro doesn't put as much quality and effort into their products that you guys put into your reviews. Thank you for taking the extra time and effort to do it right.
Thanks Shadow -- and thanks for always supporting our new content!
Finally I found a channel that is saying how I feel. 3 years after this video was made and all of what you are saying is true. You make very valid points. I feel overwhelmed with all the new figures that they make and what they will push next (ie Black Series or Vintage Collection). Going back to my childhood and collecting the originals.
12:49 "How did you get so fab and groovy and so windswept and interesting?"
"Dead Aunt and Uncle"
Good stuff!
I can't get my head around the idea that Hasbro has enough operating capital and plastic to make a TIE fighter for six inch figures, but not enough to make the signature vehicles of the newer movies.
+albee1000 EXACTLY
Simply put, you two are continually hitting it out of the park with videos lovingly crafted and extensively researched. The result is a collection of videos that not only rivals but far surpasses any and all toy related video collections/series that are being "professionally" offered.
Retroblasting and Toy Galaxy are my internet must-haves.
Thank-you SO MUCH for all you two do. You rock.
Kyle from Brantford, ON
thanks man!
“BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT I LIKE HANGING OFF THE WINGS OF MY TIE FIGHTER...NERF DARTS!” Your face lol
What about the best figure in the line, sandy Death trooper!
Captain Rex of the 501st lol
Brilliant video!!! Well worth the wait!! Great job and so good to see you back!
my God! every word out of your mouth is spot on. great review :)
I guess you can say Hasbro "Nerf" their toys
hasbro is a real "Nerf" herder XD
@@mattboy5634 poor nerf herders
My girlfriend got me a 1995 Kenner Han Solo in Stormtrooper disguise. It's the only non '70s/'80s action figure I love.
I feel like we're starting a new season of RetroBlasting after a Rogue One cliffhanger. So glad to see this today. You two are aces!
Thanks Makilla!
And BTW... Thank you so much for producing such great content!!! Of all the channels I've ever subscribed to, this one's by far my favorite!
+Leo Mad thanks so much! You're very welcome!
no channel like retroblasting thats for sure
Hi guys I just wanted to let you both know how much I appreciate your videos and all the work you both do to bring them to me! Every time I watch your videos I'm brought back to the good old days remembering the childhood happy memories I have of playing with all the toys I had and yearning for all the ones I wanted:) much love from SoCal to you both and thank you very much for putting smiles on my heart and mind all the time!
More RetroBlasting goodness. Welcome back!
Thanks Mr. Fixit! ;)
GreyHulk2 agree
nice second part 10/10 are the larger vehicles yours
Yes, I bought them specifically for this video. I became what I beheld and I am content that I have done right!
Fantastic.... glad you guys are back at it. Michael I agree vintage Kenner is where it is at and that is all I collect. And ESB is my favorite Star Wars film as well.
Love you the way you closed out the video! Thank you for being so detailed and informative in your reviews.
I just watched Rogue One with my daughter yesterday. One of the best movies in the Star Wars universe. We did Revenge of the Sith first now where doing A New Hope.
Great episode as usual. Love the editing and the amount of work that comes with it! Another RB home run.
Great video. Thanks so much for bringing this to us.
I wish Hasbro could see this
Awesome video! Welcome back RetroBlasting! :-)
That walking AT-AT is pretty cool though.
I’ve watched this video so many times and still find myself laughing just as hard lol “hasbro go home” HAHA!!! Love that line!
Absolutely brilliant video, you smashed every point.
Seriously keep up the great work, your attention to detail in your videos is fantastic.
May The Force Be With You😊👍
Thank the Force you have returned... don't always agree with you, but your passion always entertains. More please.
HASBRO: We can’t sell big vehicles that figures can fit in for hundreds of dollars ever again!
LEGO: Says you!
Well done! You always do your homework and have excellent takes along with evidence to back it all up. I really enjoyed it. Now, back to our regularly scheduled "vintage" programming. :)
This was such a great video! Very thorough! You guys rock!
Excellent video guys. Thank you so much!
awsome video. your videos make it fun to learn so thank you
Great video. I've always loved Star Wars for a number of reasons and the unique and distinct vehicles is one of those reasons.
Love your point about modern, where you only pick what appeals rather than the entire line.
I focus mainly on Imperial, as they, to me, are more visually interesting than rebels. My youngest son did manage to find the Jedha ambush pack with Saw and Benthic for 50 pence at a clearance store, though...
Great stuff, one forgets all of life's woes while watching your vids. Happy dayz!
Lol. The look on his face watching the dart was priceless
Love the video! Super entertaining and my same thoughts! Keep the great work!
"this is clumsy as it is stupid" CANT STOP LAUGHING! DV is the best!
The ending was perfect. :D
Finally new retroblasting. I love listing to you while I'm working. Can't wait for more!
Vintage series new Falcon and AtAt were the all time best Star Wars toys. Ever. Perfect.
The ending was a nice touch Mike. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Greg
Well done! That was (again) a wonderful, thoughtful video!
+Tom Berges thanks Tom!
I have been collecting Modern since 1995 (at age 9). It IS my vintage, and I love it even with all of its flaws.
Great job RetroBlasting! One of your best reviews.
If I remember correctly, the USS Flagg retailed at $109.99 when it came out in 1985. That equates to $303 in 2023 money, which is pretty much exactly what Hasbro charged for this AT-ACT. So ask yourself: what would you rather have - a majestic aircraft carrier or an undersized AT-ACT with nerf darts? I can't even begin to imagine what they would charge for the Flagg if they re-released it, even if they made it too small for the figures and armed it with nerf darts.
you have put on the table all of the things that have clicked that unpersuasive thought when seeing those toys in the store, «dont buy it, something is missing, something its not right» «that price is has no Force with him» hahaha....great video, very special , loved the end with the stormtrooper helmet.
Grew up with the 80s figures, and started getting the 90s figures too. But I gave up when the range started doing figures that were specific to not just one scene, but one moment in that one scene. Chewbacca sitting at a chess table with his hands behind his head....that is little more than a figurine of model. I don't play with my figures, but I still have that 80s mentality of wanting to have a figure I could imagine being in any scene of my own choosing. A whole expanded universe for toys. I got the first Luke floppy hat figure but when they kept releasing it, it really was kicking the arse out of it.
Watching this in 2022. I see this is from 2017, back when I was looking forward to the Last Jedi finally coming out so we can see what amazing adventures Luke and Rey would get up to at the other side of the cliffhanger. Rogue One was a good movie to tide us over until then, though a confusing choice to have them just all die at the end, especially for a franchise that was partially designed for merchandising. I don't even remember the hero ship you show here, I just remember the explosion at the end. I love how in these videos you articulate things as an adult that really do frustrate kids when they play with these toys. I remember some of these frustrations with scale, figures you can't move right, things falling open...
I really enjoyed this review thanks guys👍
That size montage was amazing. I didn't know they made a falcon that big.
Another great video! Great job retroblasting!
I am so glad to see the return of Retroblasting.
glad to see retroblasting back..really look forward to the uploads..
Great video! I too am dissapointed with quality in current toys. I've found myself buying 2008-2012 star wars toy line as they are superior to what's out today. Sad time to collect star wars toys
awesome!
Fantastic video guys, it was worth the wait.
Great content as always guys!! Looking forward to more vintage reviews... still waiting for a Micronauts review!!
Watched again...excellent video Michael!
Thank you sooooo much for another awesome video!!
Trust me we were spoiled with the big Falcon back in 08 then the big AT-AT back in 2010. The mind numbing thing is that TRU had repack the 08 Big Falcon in 2012 for the Vintage line and they wanted 299 for it. The box in my mind was a work of art.
I am so glad I bought that Millennium Falcon when I did. I regret not getting the AT-AT walker.
Thanks for another Great video and the new HQ looks great!!!
Thanks Art!
Man the new studio looks slick!
The gray background looks fantastic for the videos
+Yaoyao9 thanks!!
Excellent video, well worth the wait!
Enjoyed your video looking forward to whatever you do next 👍🏻
Great video as always. Interesting point about the temporal disconnect with modern SW toys based on the OT. Speaking from the perspective of someone who's now in their twenties, having toys for Han, Luke, Leia, Vader, etc. in the stores growing up with the Prequels was a godsend and really solidified my love for the saga as a whole. So, though they are disconnected from the OT by 40 years now, I think its very important that young SW fans still have that growing up. Also for me growing up superarticulated SW figures were the norm and so have some of the same nostalgia value as the original Kenner style does for those who grew up in the 70s/80s. Interesting to see how this generational cycle of Star Wars figures goes since now kids growing up with the sequel trilogy/anthology films will grow up associating Star Wars toys with 5POA!
Glad you're back! As always you hit the nail on the head when Hasbro is more concerned about how to tie a smart phone app to a toys it shows why kids today do not play like we use to.
great vid man really enjoying your work
FINALLY! I can see why its hard for you guys to review modern toys. I can feel the "I really want to like these, but..." and you are right, I rarely collect toys from a show or movie I've never seen because there is no emotional connection to them.
Now back to 80's we go! =D
Well, welcome back. Thank you for the great video. Something new to bother my wife with :-D
I asked for atat for christmas a couple years ago, knowing that the price wouldn't be appealing to my parents for a regular sized atat... When christmas came around, I got that HUGE atat and I was so happy.
I can't add a single thing, as you've said it perfectly. As a vintage collector, I have to be dragged kicking and screaming to modern, but I have to admit - the Rogue One 3.75''s are a big improvement over what I saw of the TFA figures. The Jyn in Imperial Disguise is probably the best I've seen. But yeah, the vehicles are just atrocious, with cheap, rubbery plastic and that abominable Nerf corporate partnership nightmare that just kills every vehicle they put out. I found the TFA Falcon on clearance for $25 at a Wal-Mart and ended up getting it and I literally *gave* it away after opening and looking at it for a couple of days. There's just no *sculpting* on the vehicles, which is part of what makes the original Kenners so incredible. Anyway, I'm rambling. Great show as always, guys!
I waited eagerly for this one. Great review guys! Thank you.
Cool video guys! And for some reason in the beginning, Michael kinda looks like captain andor!
HAHA
I could totally see Michael cosplaying as Andor at a convention.
RetroBlasting Haha I know noticed that when
I was watching Rogue one.
Like I've said many times before, you never disappoint!
Thank you for going above and beyond for comparison.
it's sad to think how much better the vehicles could have been if they concentrated on the on-screen appearance and not stupid Nerf gimmicks.
Mike. You are the best. I love your reviews. You pull no punches. i love your honesty.
+Charlou27 thanks for supporting us!
The giant Millennium Falcon and giant AT-AT Walker are both amazing! I have them both.
Well worth the wait! Thank you.
Great video! I share so many of your same thoughts on the modern Star Wars toys.
Great video hit the nail on the head!
The movie has rockin ship and character designs. The middle to end of it has brilliant starships, troopers and guest appearances.
I was so excited for the vid made my day!😁
AT-AT in the size of a collie - that was hillarious. ^_^
Holy crap!! Really well done video.
Excellent episode....welcome back!
All true. The Star Wars retro series is probably the only line worth while now. Hopefully they’ll do retro vehicles too. Great video!
Just bought my son a 1979 millennium falcon for £10 at a collectors fair. Much better toy than the new stuff.
Got my boys a Legacy big At-At and a 1995 Falcon. They already had one of my 1995 x-wings. Looking for snow speeders now.
I'm not that lucky :(
Hasbro's Legacy Millennium Falcon is vast improvement on that tiny 1979 version.
Awesome video, 100% in agreement with modern star wars, and your right, I am shocked that Poe's new x-wing is not of the toy store shelf yet, not the one from Force Awakens, as that is out (and it blow up) but the one from Last Jedi, you know it will have that little jet pack and hey ... that blow up also, will he have have another in the next film that going to be a different colour? I can't help but think about the scene in Spaceballs, you know when Yoghurt say "Spaceballs 2: the search for more money". I will cry myself to sleep tonight...
I just about choked when I saw how much the at-act was. Excellent insights.
I agree with everything you said in this video except for one thing. The AT-ATs in "Empire Strikes Back" were troop transports. But the "Rogue One" AT-ATs are supposed to be a different model; smaller, less armored, and used mainly for supply transport. So it would make sense that troops would not fit well in the supply cargo hold of the "Rogue One" AT-ATs.
No no no! They are bigger
Great to see RB back at it again. Funny thing, I quit collecting modern GI Joe for the EXACT same reasons!
So great! This video made my night! :)
Glad to be of service!
Nice video. I work in the same district as Jake. I quit seriously collecting in 2000 when the market tanked and Hasbro was over producing figures, making variation after variation like you mentioned with a Darth Vader. My fingers weren't doing me any good just sitting nib in storage, so I sold them put the money towards the restoration of a 1927 Ford, what you my family and I can enjoy.
Looks like star wars action figures over production.
I was looking at getting some modern star wars but there are so many I don't know where to start.
Maybe I'll stick with the vintage figures.
But your video answered alot of my questions. Thank you.
Me and tvc lando are loving this video!!!! ;) thanks !!!!
Don't you dare to mess with the Tie Strikers!!!! 🤣😂🤣
