How do you know when the reservoir is full? Just fill til you see it top the tube? I am in SW FL: sometimes we are dry as a bone and sometimes we get 4” of rain in 2 hours, so it would be good to know how full the reservoir is. Thanks!
The reservoir holds 2.9 gallons of water.
At this time there isn’t an indicator to tell when it is full, but we have been told they are working on something like that.
Your article on potting hydrangeas suggests that an 18-24” (wide and deep) is needed. If your aqua pot insert takes up 13.5” and your charlotte and chicago aqua pots are only 18-20” tall, how does that work? It seems that there would be hardly any space left for the roots of a 3 foot tall hydrangea. I’d like to buy 3 of your pots now but am uncertain how this works. Please explain!!! Thx!

Can the aquapot inserts remain in outdoor containers throughout the winter if you are in an area where temps go below freezing, or is there a risk the water inside will freeze / expand and crack the plastic?
We have not tested these in all types of extreme weather, but it would be safer if you store them in a garage or basement whenever possible. Once these are used it is very hard to be sure the tube and other parts are 100% free of water.
I have a question , when we refill the water once a week do we also add the food with every refill? And can any food of plant go inside the water? Thanks so much gonna love planting more. ❤ 💦 💐
Yes, any water soluble plant food can be mixed in when refilling your AquaPot!
We add proven winners water soluble fertilizer once a month to the fill tube. The plants EXPLODE to life!
Will one week watering be for all climates? Our summer temps daily in the 90s/100 with full sun.
With temps like that, you do need to water new shrubs 2-3 times a week. It is far better to water well but infrequently than to water too little but often. Plants that are watered often with just a bit of water will develop a shallow root system. The plant has no need to develop a deep root system. We hope this helps!
Can these inserts be used in any container with drainage or does the container need to be the same size as the insert? I have very large containers that I would like to use the insert in and am not clear if this solution would work ?

They are not available yet. They are in production. Online it said 6/15, but they said at the end of the season.
