    Thanks for the review. I’ve been tempted by these, as well as the Bose and Amazfit but would prefer something that does the same but is able to play music, audiobooks or podcasts. I use an AirPod on low volume to stop my mind wandering and to help me fall asleep and it works great but I’m fed up having to search for it in the morning.

    Hey Nick, thanks for making these review videos. I found them very useful! I was planing to buy Quieton 2 but didn’t because I knew from your last Quieton review video that it was uncomfortable. I was going to buy Bose sleep buds but learned from your channel that it’s a masking system which I don’t really like. I’m a light sleeper and I live in a room that’s right above a furnace system so the noise it makes wake me up. Do you think this pair will work for reducing that noise?

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching a bunch of my videos! I think the quietons would help as they are designed for snoring which are lower frequencies. My assumption is that a furnace has lower frequency sounds too so it should definitely make a difference. I haven't yet compared them to foam earplugs but that might be something you want to try before an investment into the quietons.

      Actually it wouldn't be one of these, it would be the Amazfit Zenbuds. They are the ones I continue to go back to time and time again. If it was just between the Bose and the QuietOn, I'd go with the Bose. The noise cancelling for me is actually TOO QUIET! I can hear my breathing and swallowing and it's a little odd. I like having white noise rather than pure quiet. But I'm sure some people qould prefer it the other way around so that's just my personal opinion! Thanks!!!

Charging case drastically dropped it’s power holding capacity but right earbud ( and left while still working) could normally hold the energy throughout the night, no issues in that regard at all. Hey Nick! I've watched a few of your videos now, trying to determine the best device for me. I primarily require something to block the sound of my husband snoring, and there is also a super loud train near my house that passes multiple times a night. I'm thinking the amazfit zenbuds might be best, just because even in silence I can have terrible falling asleep due to racing thoughts. So I was wondering if the white noise / masking ability of the zenbuds is comparable to the quieton 3 in terms of being able to block out annoying sounds. Thanks!

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  Před 2 lety +3

      I personally like the zen buds the best even after trying the quietons. The quietons are too quiet for me. But some people I guess like perfect quietness. I haven't done a side by side snoring comparison yet but i do plan to make another video comparing the quietons to the zenbuds at some point. I always gravitate to the zenbuds and I own all three and they are sitting on my nightstand (QuietOn, zenbuds, Bose sleep buds). Ultimately everyone's personal preference is different though. I've had people tell me they like the Bose more. The zenbuds do cut out quite a bit of noise without even having noises playing so the noise masking white noise adds a second layer which i really like. Hope that helps a little bit!

    • @kait1153

    • @NickBorsellino
      @NickBorsellino  Před 2 lety +1

      Sorry bout that. QuietOn's website claims the following "QuietOn 3 battery life is around 28 hours on single charge. The charging case battery lasts for about 3x charging the earbuds from empty to full, meaning that QuietOn 3 Active Noise Cancelling earbuds for sleeping can be used without having to worry about recharging - or waking up at night unexpectedly to your partner’s snoring or disturbing neighborhood noise." I find that wording to be confusing. I think that means they last 7 hours. My logic is 7 hours for the initial time then recharge 3x for a total of 28. so 28 divided by 4 is 7. I wish they would state it more clearly.

    3 hours Quieton than 3 hours Loop/Foam earplugs.
    There is a HUGE difference! I can say that the Quieton3 made me sleep much better.

    I own both the Quieton's 3.1 as well as the Bose sleepbuds. I am a real consumer - this is not some fake review. At the beginning, the Quieton noise cancelling feature worked really well. The Quieton's are not as comfortable as Bose, but I forced myself to get used to them. Four months after I purchased the Quieton's, the sound cancelling feature stopped working making the product useless. After a long six week waiting period, Quieton replaced the earbuds. Guess what, four months later, the same thing happened the noise cancelling failed. Changing the foam earpieces did not do anything. Quieton refused to do anything saying their liability is limited to the cost of the earbuds. I was entitled to just this one replacement and they were not standing by their product. Tough luck. $300 out the window.
    Don't deal with this company. They have a problem with their product and they refuse to own up to it. Bose is now out of the business, but at least were great to deal with.

    Hey, Thanks for the video. I wonder is there a wireless earbud for sleep that can play our own music library/video playback and can be comfortable? I looked at your videos and found out most of the sleepbuds you covered were locked to their own app by purpose which is a dealbreaker for me. (what a shame, you paid a premium price but you don't get the most out of it. I believe they did that on purpose). I don't need noise-canceling and other fancy features, but just a nice comfortable earbud for sleep that can play our own music library. If you have a suggestion please let me know. Thanks!

      @NickBorsellino  Před 2 lety

      I haven't tried them but the only one I know of is called Kokoon. They are earbuds but have a band connecting them behind your head. There's something to do with the size of the technology that makes it so they can't be small enough to fit in your ears, which is why they do the noises instead of regular bluetooth with good speakers. I'm sure in the future they will get even smaller but they haven't been able to do it yet it seems. Most earbuds that play music are much larger than the sleep buds

      @@NickBorsellino what you don't understand? You make a test by recoding audio from a microphone that you insert in a tube and at the other end you insert one of these buds and you make make a noise from a source... preferably a speaker so it can be repeated. Then you repeat the test with a foam bud at the end of the tube. Then we can hear the difference. The catch is that the tube must have tick walls and maybe suspended because is very easy to catch vibrations and interfere with the test.

    I feel like these QuietOn 3.1 are a “QuiteCon” - it makes next to no difference wearing these over normal foam plugs. On planes, useless! Blocking the simple (and very quiet) sound of a new fridge compressor, useless! I live a couple of hundred meters from a tennis court and these do nothing to block the noise from that. They do have an amazingly well built case that is a work of art, though. These make marginally 10-15/20% reduction in the noise. I feel like Bose ANC knocks about 50-70% of the noise (particularly on a plane)

Even the soundcore liberty 4NC are far better. The only good quality I see in the quiteOn 3 is their very low profile. you can really sleep on your side but you hear everything. Every bit of snore ! Dont get me wrong. The foam tips seal very good . (You can hear your voice from the chest). But a simple 2$ silicone swimming ear plugs will do the same noise cancelling job.

  • @tomslaterdesignillustratio4391

    With the elaborate QuietOn Website, Instructional videos, packaging - AND THE PRICE - you'd think they'd actually filter out at least SOME NOISE??? Not the case!!!! Back to Finland you go dammit! So very disappointed. And I have read/re-read the instructions, tried every foam size several times. From large too small, these things are just darned uncomfortable, and they filter little. As I type this, I have them properly inserted/fitted. And I hear my AC reverberating as I do with nothing in my ears. I also just heard a neighbor's car start several yards away from a closed window. Funny, I didn't have to read and re-read the instructions for my Sony XM4 headphones. I simply put them on, turned them on and silence! Again, very a disheartened side sleeper here.

  • @richardjames6068
    @richardjames6068 Před rokem +2

    I have both brands of earbuds. The Bose do actually work and mask my wife's snoring but the sound reproduction of the white noise is unbelievably disappointing. For example there is one sound bite that is rain with thunder rolling in the distance and when I listen to the sample on my apple airpods I can hear the full range of frequencies and it sounds real but with the Bose it is all midrange and very bad. Almost as bad as the throw away earbuds on the hop on tourist bus. The Quieton earbuds technology really only works for constant noise like an air conditioning unit and doesn't work for something like a TV. They rely on passive noise cancellation for that and perform slightly worse than the standard foam earbuds. I am in the process of trying to return my Quieton product and they seem like a serious company but time will tell if I get a full refund.

      Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with either product! I didn't like the quietons just because it was too quiet and I could hear my breathing and heartbeat. It was weird. But I love my Bose sleep buds 2. The only sound I use is warm static though. I think blocking out snoring would be next to impossible though. Even in all the tests I did they help reduce the harshness of snoring but never completely block it out. I think you would need an over the ear headphones with noise cancelling to completely block it out because the way the human ear is design noise can get in through the skin surrounding the buds. Maybe I'm crazy but I think there is sound absorbtion that the buds just can't block no matter how good they are

I do also have the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds with the active noise cancelling and if they could make these in the size of sleeping buds I would be very happy, because those actually work and you almost hear nothing, just in a distance. And you can gradually set them on how much you still like to hear something. I like the Bose sleepbuds to fall in sleep with very quick, but I still would like sleepbuds beside them that have ANC just for some sounds of the neighbours upstairs when they get up at 4 am. With the Bose sleepbuds I often use the same sound and works well for me. But for example the ocean which I love that sound, made me feel dizzy when I woke up in the night a few times.
