Morgantown stole my heart when I was a little middle schooler living in Pittsburgh. I went to WVU and spend time in Charleston WV before moving away. I miss It with my whole heart. West Virginia is a special slice of Heaven and only those who live there understand. Almost Heaven 💛💙
I cannot imagine any true West Virginian who would not be moved by this song. The video really brings it home. Your step dad Eric is truly a great man. I think it's a good song as far as tugging on my heartstrings there are few others that would probably go ahead of this one and yes I'm from West Virginia I was born and raised down an old coal outside of Beckley but don't get me wrong though it is a very good song

I wonder how many of us in that 30-50 range this punched directly in the feels. I know I am among that age group that was born and raised just outside of Morgantown in Preston Co, but had to leave the state for better job opportunities. I know I constantly think of how much I miss it back home and wish I could be there.

I grew up outside of Charleston & had to leave to pursue a better life in Cincinnati. I miss my family & friends there every day. There’s not another place like WV. I miss my mountain mama
I didn't grow up in West Virginia, however I spent 4 of the best years of my life attending West Virginia University (2009-2013). I made so many friends and memories and this song makes everything come flooding back into my head. Thank you for the trip down memory lane everytime this song comes on. I miss Morgantown and all the people that helped to make Morgantown special to me.

This song is great! A young man moved from the country life of West Virginia to the Mecca of western debauchery to chase his dreams. Sadly, he’s realizing he left behind that fresh mountain air and an honest man’s work, for a land known for drugs, greed, and promiscuity. Come back home Huey, they says it’s Almost Heaven.

This is absolutely cool! It's such a small world! I had no idea my landlord had such a talented son! Small world indeed and it's always amazing when someone from our Beautiful state does great things, our state is always painted in such a negative way. This song is so cool! I just moved back to West Virginia from Long Beach Ca. a year ago. Lived there for almost 40 years left when I was 6 and missed it every single day! Feels so good to be home. I am from a Fairmont originally but now live in Morgantown. My son goes to MHS and one thing I now for sure you can always come back home!

This song describes both mine and my wife's journey. Both born and raised in West Virginia. When we were younger our ultimate goal was to chase our bodybuilding dreams of becoming professional bodybuilders. We finally were able to make the journey out to southern California and spent several years of ups and downs pursuing our dreams in the bodybuilding industry. There were certainly good times but there were also heart breaking times as well. Although we had an incredible journey chasing our dreams and making life long friends and memories, there is just no place like home. Life is funny, you think you always will be better off somewhere else but there is no place like home. We moved back to the east coast. I spent 20 years of my life in Winfield, WV. I left home for the army and eventuality ended up in Colorado. Out of all the places I’ve lived, WV has something special to it. I hope that at some point in my life, I live there again.

Born and raised in Fairmont-return often. My dad, a sportswriter, was dubbed “The Mountaineer” for his 30 year stretch-recounts of play-by-plays and columns for WVU football and basketball. Life recently took me to NC, but WV will always be in my heart, in my very bones 💙💛

I went thru MHS got into a fight right at the bottom of those steps also ,had many of fish bowls at Mario’s , played on those courts at Marilla and know who Eric was .. will admit never heard of you before this song .. but man it’s beautiful .. MHS class of ‘86, and Mario’s is just down the hill from my parents. Spent a lot of time at Marilla, too. I moved after graduating WVU in 1990. First Atlanta then to West Hollywood. Finally landed in Colorado and reunited with a guy who also went to MHS. We’ve been married 7 years. I do love it here, but thankful my family is still in Morgantown. My sister and her family just moved back this past summer. Congrats on the song - so heartfelt. Beautiful video, too.

There's a Reason why we call it Almost Heaven!! Born and raised in Fairmont. But my Beautiful Wife of 35yrs were blessed enough to buy a New home in the Cheat Lake aera in 2020. We left for 17yrs and lived in Pilot Mtn (Mount Pilot)NC. But have been back HOME for almost 15yrs. We will Never, Ever Leave Again!!

I too moved from west Virginia to Washington with my husband and children about a year. This song hits home. My entire family is in west Virginia. I never thought about living anywhere else. It has been a experience. I just wanted to say this song is great.
About 10 years ago I came across the son Adderall thoughts, and since then it has helped me many of times in moments in my life, even had a whole classroom listen to it during musical therapy when I was in inpatient rehab .. then I kind of forgot about it the past few years and then heard a original song of a remix that you did "call me maybe"

I grew up in Richwood West Virginia. In 10th grade health class we sat in a circle in the gym and were asked to tell something about ourselves that no one knew. Mind you most of the class I knew my whole life. When it was my turn to speak I told everyone I was born in California. Everyones jaws dropped and said really. I used to want to move to California but I knew it wasn't me. I live in Illinois right now and have been here 6 years to long. I miss the clean rivers and lakes. Here in Illinois you feel dirty after a swim.
