My Hobbit Birthday

- Any fan of J. R. R. Tolkien knows that a 33rd birthday is when a hobbit comes of age. So I spent my 33rd birthday this past May endeavouring to make it a very hobbity day!
Also, happy 86th anniversary to The Hobbit, which was first published on 21 September, 1937!

It's lovely seeing adults just being exactly how they want to be and for their loved ones to treat them amazingly! Glad you could celebrate in such a beautiful way :>
"My precious ... my precious!" ... Thanks for sharing with us.
Having turned 30 this year, I would be lucky to even spend a day with all of my friends like this!
Beautiful landscapes, beautiful food, and extraordinarily beautiful people. Happy 33rd Birthday and heres to many more ;)
As an Australian, I have hobbit feet - tough from a lifetime of going barefoot. When I moved to the UK for 18 mths I noticed my feet softening up, and I had to go through toughening them up again when I got home. I'm also a may-baby. I turned 44 on 18th May this year, which is late Autumn here.
So cool, love the story in this. Being the old photographer, I would have taken a couple film cameras along and shot a few rolls in each, but I suppose it would be a few centuries before a true hobbit would ever be able to do so....
This is really cool, congrats. I also completed 33 on sep 22th. Maybe that is why youtube recommended me your video. And I loved it
wonderful that you have such people to spend your fantasy world with.
Happy Birthday Squirrel 🐿️!!
Magical!
I’m watching this on 22nd September. Hobbit Day! Like you, I also celebrated my thirty-threeth birthday. Not with so many meals though. You have stamina. I’ve attended the cheese-rolling event. Madness! I’ve also drank cider in the Green Dragon, but in Hobbiton in New Zealand. I highly recommend it.
I’d love to visit Hobbiton in New Zealand!
This is a beautiful video and nice to have friends to play this with you this role. Nice video!
many happy returns of the day, lovely video as ALWAYS
What a lovely way to celebrate your birthday! Thank you for taking us along with you.
Happy birthday! What a great way to celebrate!
What a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday and such a magical video! Thank you for taking us along on the day!
Happy Birthday!!
Happy, happy Birthday!
If you haven't already, you should head over to the Forest of Dean and visit Puzzle Wood, near Coleford.
It's about 40 minutes west of Brockworth.
I reckon you'd love it.
Puzzle Wood has been on my list for ages! We certainly will someday.
Happy Belated 🎉
Awesome video!
What a beautiful landscape! It all looks like out of Inspector Barnaby. ☺
I suspect the reason Hobbits can eat so many meals is that they have no cars and work hard manual labor on a farm everyday, like the Amish there doesn't seem to be many fat ones. cheers on a fabulous birthday! 🎂
Happy birthday and I enjoyed the video!
But I thought the late morning snack was called "elevenses", not "elevensies"? (Non-hobbit here.)
The Cooper Hill cheese-rolling is fantastic and I've always wanted to see it in person!
I also love the carved mice in the pub! Are you familiar with Robert "Mouseman" Thompson? He carved articles for the home and always included a carved mouse. I'd love to have one of his pieces but they are not in my budget!
Whoops! I think you’re right about elevenses traditionally, but I’ve seen it spelled both ways in reference to hobbits so not sure.
We’ve been to the last two cheese-rollings so far. It’s definitely madness! 🤪
I’m not familiar with Robert Thompson! I’ll have to look him up.
@@SquirrellyNerdyJess Maybe pronouncing it elevensies is the plural whereas elevenses is the singular?
Perfect setting! (But your feet are way to dainty! 😅)
I think I'm okay with that. 😂
