Your parents are adorable. Thanks for sharing. Once again, I love your content so much.
I adore your parents! What a grand time. Thank you. 😊
Your parents are a delight :)
Great video! I, too, love Austen's work.
Every time I went to Winchester I would sing that song.
Thanks for this, Jess, Winchester is one of my favorite cities in the UK, my grandmother was born and raised there. 🙂 Did you walk by the little home on College Street where Jane Austen spent her final days? It's only a couple minutes' walk from the Cathedral. It's a private home and can't be entered/toured, but there is a blue plaque on the outside. I do hope you get to visit Chawton Cottage someday, it's so very worth the effort to get there!
No, we didn’t! I’ll add that to the list for when we do a return visit. Thanks!
That "duette" at the start really brought back some memories! Looks like everyone had fun!! Did you pick up anything in the gift shop? I noticed there were a lot of Jane Austen related items.
Some may scoff but I get the urge to seek out Austen's important places. Many years ago I went on a road trip to her birthplace. Steventon, also in Hampshire. The house had gone, but the church in which her father preached survived. Every time I go to Bath, her presence is felt. Few English authors have left such strong links to places. Who can walk upon the Cobb in Lyme without feeling her spirit?
