I just tried to watch the boxing for "this year's"(2020) Olympics and it was cool and all but it was so awkward that there was no crowd. And now I realized, the whole Olympics, all the events, are akward with no crowd cuz there's just less energy

is it just me, of does it look like these boxers are throwing REALLY LOOONG punches? Like, It seems like they are really really reaching. Like there is no close up, tight boxing at all. And the Frenchmen looks like he is slapping. lol :P
i was trying to find out why he looked like he was pawing. i just assume its because hes trying to whip his hand faster because olympic boxing is more so about points than anything.
and this is just my assumption by i assume that olympic boxers tend to avoid tight boxing because it could confuse the judges as to whats landing and whats not
@@zackbop9045 Yeah figured the same. Amateur boxing seems much more tactical en based on skill than professional boxing. I actually watched this fight because my trainer said that amateur boxing is better if you want to study the technique. I can see why.
you are not knocking out another Olympic boxer, they are the best of the best of every nation, and close ups, are not really effective so, they just avoid it
@Derian Setoguchi yes and it was against a pro (it was the first Olympics where pro boxer could participate) it really shows that pro doesn't necessarly means better than amateur and the guys at the Olympics are better than 95% of the pro

@@jacobanthony6088 On pure footwork alone I can give you a couple guys that are kind of in a group or their own IMO. Picking between them is difficult though. Erislandy Lara, Vasyl Lomachenko, Demetrius Andrade, Terence Crawford, Tevin Farmer, Mikey Garcia, Manny Pacquiao, Guillermo Rigondeaux. Out of all of these guys right now, I'd say that the hardest one to beat is probably Demetrius Andrade, which is why he has a very hard time finding opponents. He's 6'1" with a long reach, and slick as anyone in the world. As a pure boxer, there isn't anyone with quite that combination of athleticism, size, and footwork. I think he is probably the best of all the 168 pounders, yes that includes David Benevidez, Canelo Alvarez, and Bill Joe Saunders. Andrade is a nightmare.
@@brandnew9834 footwork wise lomachenko is in a league of his own and he’s European, and if you think Andrade would beat Canelo, that’s very surprising
@@jacobanthony6088 Lomachenko is the anomaly, the exception not the rule lol. I can’t think of another European fighter, who was trained in Europe and fights anything like Loma...I would pick Andrade to beat Canelo. To me that matchup reminds me of the Austin Trout/ Miguel Cotto fight. Cotto was the bigger name and the favorite, but Trout completely befuddled him with his reach and his movement, and his defense. Cotto was just overwhelmed by a bigger guy who could keep him on the end of a jab. He completely outboxed him from the outside. Seeing how Canelo uncomfortable has looked against Trout, Mayweather, and Lara; and the fact that has not fought anyone who fights in that style since then tells me that he’s not comfortable against those kind of fighters.
I thought Olympic boxing was supposed to be the top boxers in the world....

This whole tournament was a sham thanks to Russian and Uzbek match fixing. Well done to Robson, but all medals from that tournament are forever blackened and rendered meaningless by the amount of corruption that went on behind the scenes.
