  • Scots Gaelic traditional. Too beautiful not to have uploaded for the world to enjoy. Visual artist (lovely work!) credited at end. And yes, I'm pretty sure the singer Catriona is the same girl who has hosted the BBC Scottish Bagpipe championships in recent years.

I feel deep empathy with the lament of the singer - it also makes me feel grief at the decline of the beautiful Highland culture echoed in threats to the composite Celtic/Germanic all-Scotland culture which is so distinct from England. I speak as an Englishman who spent a large part of his formative years in Scotland: individuals cannot reach their full potential until their nation is free. To me this is an anthem of the struggle.

Well said, and so true. Speaking also as an Anglo (from Virginia), I agree 100%.
CZcams never notifies me of replies, sorry I only just noticed your thoughtful comment.

After the battle at Culloden Moor on the 16th of April 1746 everyting was taken from us. Ancestors of mine fought and died there: Clan Chattan Regiment. Our way of life, our Clans systems, our Ghàidhlig language... gone...
Today us Scots have a voice: Indyref2.
Not because I hate the English - I have wonderfull English friends who I love dearly - but because I want Scotland to be free!

@@moiramacgillivray4544 The specifics of IndyRef2, how it relates to immigration, the EU, national currency, and similar particular but important details, are difficult to resolve. But I can generalize without difficulty: Scotland should be free! I hope Scotland finds the right vehicle for effecting that change with the best long-term prospects. If it's as handy and immediate as IndyRef2, all the better.

In 2014 55% of the Scottish voters voted against independence because we were promised by the UK government in Westminster that we wouldn't be dragged out of the EU against our will.
In 2016 a majority of Scottish voters voted against Brexit and after the 2019 elections we're facing a hard Brexit now!
Looking at other small countries in the EU with around and about 5 million inhabitants like Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland for example, and looking at all the resources Scotland has, I reckon we'll do alright. Scotland holds most of the UK's fishery. Scotland holds most of the oil and gasfields in the North Sea and has the biggest industry for sustainable energy anywhere in the UK.
We welcome immigrants with open arms, our education is free of charge, we provide free sanitary products to girls and women and our healthcare system is amongst the best performing in the whole of the UK.
People in Scotland are fed up with Westminster, the Tory lies and with BoJo...
IndyRef2 is coming and Scotland will be free!
