- This is MY Home Alone Filming Locations Experience, which is NOT complete and as thorough as some other experiences you might find, but it's what I was able to see in the very brief time I was in the Chicago area that one weekend and I loved every minute of it. This film means a lot to me, still does and brings me back to the 90's when I was a kid just like Kevin was. Ah, what a simpler time.
I believe the one main spot I wasn't able to get to was the interior of the church which was about 20 miles south of the Church exterior location, in Oak Park, which is about 50 minutes in Chicago commute time. Either way, didn't have time. That entire location is enough for it's own video anyway, so next time.

Cool you found all these places in Home Alone.
The train you see in the movie consist of Pullman Gallery cars manufactured in the 1950s and 1960s. Chicago Metra was still using these old gallery cars up until about 2020.
Note that the exterior church and interior church are 2 different churches
22:26 That windows is located further back, above the back door. You can see it in the movie at around 00:55 when Marv runs away after hearing gun fire.
No clue, good explanation of both but I’d say the first tree also. The same as you, I’m a 90s kid and the house is iconic. The second movie was the best though🗽
I liked 2sc better and if someone says it was way more violent - i think it was way more cartoony with sounds, Marv turning into a skeleton etc !
Security has tightened after 9/11, so you can't just run through the gate at the last minute to catch your flight like the McCallister's did. Also, the airport was actually opened during the filming. The scenes in Paris were actually at the O'hare airport
The pizza delivery boy always knocking down the statue in front of the house.
Later, in the movie he breaks the bottom part (the feet)
You forgot to go the place where Kevin went to see Santa
I wish we had airport security in the 90s. But, it all changed due to 9/11.
