The best vocalist I have ever heard in my life. Rest in peace sweet angel.
RIP Eva Cassidy. Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful voice and music 🙏❤️🕊️
Her voice was pure
@@kathryndunn9142 Yes so beautiful ❤️
Stunning. Just Eva and her guitar. No gimmicks. Pure vocals. Gone way too soon. RIP beautiful lady.
Eva's songbird is a must
This is as close to being the momma of everyone singing a lullaby to all of us. She is with "The Choir" now and we'll hear her again.
Her voice, her guitar playing, her arrangement ... ... ... no words
She was painfully shy, extremely humble & ridiculously talented - such a shame - she never got to know how famous she'd get.
One of her most outstanding vocals has to be "Oh, had I a golden thread." - a one-woman gospel choir!
Beautiful version. So glad to see you back, Dude.
Autumn Leaves from the same venue is amazing.
Her voice was absolutely stunning. RIP
I have always loved Eva’s voice. When I heard this song for the first time, I knew she had the voice is an angel. RIP, Eva. ❤
in a way she sang the essence of this song
I was born in 1975. I used to drive and drive and drive just listening to music. 🎶 I was was truly heartbroken when she passed. It touches me in that place next to my heart. A soul whose song rang beautifully, briefly, through our plane to the next
She was truly an amazing singer. ❤
Rest in Peace Eva Cassidy.. voice of a real angel 🎼🖤
This is recorded frikin live! The most beautiful voice to ever grace the earth
Her cover of automn leaves is something else as well
Eva is my sister's favorite all time singer....a song called "Songbird". I lost my mom to cancer last May and shortly after my sister was diagnosed with the same cancer. Shes fighting so hard and this song reminds me of her and Eva's courage. Maybe one day play SONGBIRD. Good to see you Jay.
We played Songbird at my mum's funeral, what a fabulous song
such a sweet song
Man… Did she have a voice! Okay, so she never wrote anything original but what she could do to someone else’s song. SO GOOD!! What she did with Sting’s Fields of Gold. SUCH AN EMOTIONAL SONG!! She didn’t find any real recognition till AFTER she died from cancer. Her mom was still delivering her CDs to our job (Olsson’s Books and Records) up until we had to close our doors because we COULD NOT keep them in stock because the CD’s were like GOLD!! She was a local singer and DC LOVED HER! They still do…. Rest in peace Eva and know that your voice is STILL missed.
🥲
Yes we in DC metro area love her ❤
Welcome back Jay!
She's such a treasure. Gifted us this gorgeous song.
Just Eva and her guitar. 💞
Beautiful rendition of this song. Eva was amazing. Love you too, Jay.
I made a CZcams video using her song after my sweet Yorkie passed away...and she sure did have an AMAZING voice! May she rest in Peace..
There will never be another Eva Cassidy ❤ my favourite song by her is Time Is a Healer ❤❤❤ pure power ❤❤❤
Never heard of her- but, wow, what a beautiful 🤩 voice! I’m gonna Google her stuff!
Eva Cassidy was so incredible what a voice and talent. It was such a tragedy and loss to the world when she died of cancer at only 33 years old in 1996, but her music will forever live on. Some other Eva Cassidy recommendations are Danny Boy, Time After Time, Autumn Leaves, What A Wonderful World, Songbird. Thank you for your reaction.
Beautiful voice
Beautiful, thank you for showing me this!! Tears here ..
Her voice is amazing AND so is his guitar playing.
Angelic voice!
Rest easy sweet girl...the world did finally see the amazing talents you embodied...your gifts to all of us, and this old man appreciates it!
Autumn Leaves is my favorite from her. What gift she left us.
What a beautiful voice, so calm, and soothing, yes she made it her own, just beautiful!!
She had a very beautiful and soothing voice! 🤗❤️
Lots of love from Nm ❤ this recording makes me cry every time I hear it…
Beautiful version R.I.P Darling
I can't believe I never knew of Eva. She was soo amazingly GREAT! So tragic she died soo young. R.I.P. 🙏🙏🙏
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
My favorite song by Eva Cassady is
🎵 Oh,had I a golden thread 🎵
I think that there only a audio version but believe me...
You gonna "ADORE " this song
Keep the good work my friend ✌️ 👍🏻 👏
Glad to see you again 👍🏻
"Songbird" by Eva is simply beautiful ❤
Played this at my dad's funeral.
Her song "Autumn Leaves" is absolutely Gorgeous and then if you wanna hear her range singing a gospel song titled 'Had I a Golden Thread !
Every song on the Songbird album is excellent.
Wade in the Water is great too.
@@kd8199 , Yeah that whole album is great I just didn't want to overload him with a million songs
we just played this version a month ago at my mums funeral who also died from cancer (fk cancer) i think thats about as high praise as can give her version of this song. 💙
We played this at my Mum’s funeral too. Love to you and your family x
RIP Eva Cassidy and your reactions are as always.. fabulous!
She was dying too soon Mr Terry wogan a talk show host from England brought her out to our nation😊we never looked back and have been watching her since ❤❤❤❤
Wow... is an understatement...😮😳
One cannot listen to this and not say...WOW! Rest in peace Eva 🙏
You're exactly right! There's no autotune or any other studio magic tricks, it's just her natural voice and her guitar. She was such an amazing talent. Unfortunately I was not aware of her until after she passed and I saw her videos on CZcams. Definitely gone too soon. 😥
She did a great job singing Christine Mcvee's (Fleetwood Mac) Songbird fantastic voice
...and Christine McVie, too, is gone.
… Beautiful🌻!! ✨🕯✨ Thank you
And the fact that she passed away from skin cancer at 33 years old Wayback in 1996. What a loss.
Her song "Autumn Leaves" is also great.
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
I think she's new to me. Thanks, Jay!
Eva will take you to church with 'Golden Thread' found on her "Songbird" cd. Her vocal power was truly amazing.
it is so touching! I always cry!
It made me emotional. Such a lovely voice. I put this song on my fb and Instagram story.💗
Amazing how quickly she swoops you right into the interpretation and the emotionality. Nice reactions.
Such a beautiful song, always brings a tear to my eye and I'm not ashamed to admit it
Beautiful brother!Ty
She is a DC legend. Very versatile vocalist. She collaborated with another DC legend Chuck Brown, of Go Go music fame. Check out something from the two of them.
PS, finished a NEW video with this song... So glad you viewed and shared this!
Eva can sing with ANYBODY !
Check out Eva singing "Blues in the Night" for a complete surprise, 180* from "Over the Rainbow" but in a GOOD way!
WELCOME BACK
Eva would soothe a crying baby just wonderful! RIP ❤🙏
Wow! Haven't really heard much from her over the years. What a beautiful talent
Better than Great.
Producers loved Eva too, when she hit the studio, she was a 1 take kinda talent... aced everything!
What is it with one-take miracle singers staying only three decades or so...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stripped back at its most pure and beautiful. Voice of an angel. She was taken far too soon with so much left to give ❤️
She was a lovely singer.. 💗🎶💗
I remember being so sad at her passing at the age of I think 31? Such an amazing voice and talent that will forever live on/ her song “songbird” is just so amazing as is the song “autumn leaves”
I love this version honestly. I listen to this whenever i want to relax my mind
Great to see you back 💪👍
Gold !
React to "Stormy Monday" by Eva Cassidy. Another amazing song by her.
JayVee: Think about it. She's gone... She needed to move us. But she had to go back. She sings with the celestial choir.
This song always brings a tear to my eye and I have no idea why, I guess it reminds me of an innocent little girl who thinks only how beautiful life will be and grow old and it's gone so fast
Amazing voice. Gives me chills. Sadly she died decades ago. Damn you god!!!...for giving her cancer.
That bit in the middle gives me goosebumps
Loved your reaction to this. Just think, this was live in 1996, she was ill with a bad cold, had only properly learned guitar a couple of years earlier. She would have been 60 years old this year if she had lived. Think of the music she would have given us. You should listen to Nightbird and Autumn Leaves by Eva. Nightbird is my favourite Eva Cassidy song and one of my favourites of all time by anybody.
You would enjoy all her music.
I love this song it's fantastic👌❤❤
I can never get through this song without shedding a tear at the end 🥺
That was such a beautiful rendition of this song. So sad that she is no longer with us. She died at only 33 years of age. I also love the version by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole. Sadly he also died young at 38 years of age. At least we have their music left as a legacy.
Iz recorded that (in a medley with What A Wonderful World) on impulse in the small hours of the morning, and plainly didn't have the lyrics to hand, making a frustrating mess of them! Such a sweet, classic performance, though. Far too many greats leave us early: Iz, Eva, Karen Carpenter, Jim Croce...
@9:12 - Check out Eva's "People Get Ready" (Curtis Mayfield cover). You'll love it!
No auto tuned the real deal what a amazing voice
Wowzer!,
Summertime, from Porgy & Bess, is another heartfelt tune of a similar genre ~
Great song to start up Jayvee; She took a classic song and made a beautiful rendition of her own, RIP; it’s sad that she has become more famous now that she has passed away
Angelic voice 🙏🏼🌟
Stunning voice ❤
Eva was an awesome singer.
Reaction suggestion - "Memory" by Lucy Thomas (a Barbra Streisand cover).
Eva Cassidy sings with the voice of an angel. Truly, she was Heaven sent. Please take a listen to her cover the Willie Nelson song BLUE EYES CRYING IN THE RAIN. It's a striking example of her talent, and the real reason and a damned shame more people didn't know about her. Enjoy
Do song bird. In my eyes is the best write by Christine mcvie
I've been waiting for you to react to this song for a long time bro. Isn't she so amazing? Another great song she does a cover of is Danny Boy, you should check it out, it's freaking amazing, and talk about emotional!
It's the last 1/3 of the song that just makes me bust out.... when she gets really high in the song... the best!
Where you been 🤷🏼♀️
Great reaction! Please, react also to her magic rendition of Stevie Wonder's "I can only be me", we know it's very difficult to do a good rendition of a Stevie's song, but she sang this song in an incredible way!
Recommended.
Same song.
Ray Charles and Johnny Mathis.
From the Genius Loves Company Album.
Rays last record. He was dying and he knew it.
Fire.
A perfectly painful version.
If you loved her vocal, please listen to "I won't last a day without you" by the Carpenters. Just as crystal clear and emotive.
