One thing my LGS does is a Deck Builders Toolkit League. It's usually 6 to 8 weeks long. Everyone who wants in buys a toolkit and builds a deck from it. Each week, they have to play someone else in the League. They only have to play one match per week. Win or lose, you have the option to add another pack to your pool. At the end of the weeks, the top 8 records either plays out a single elimination tourney or usually we 8 way split the store credit prize. It's a pretty awesome reason for the toolkits.
i think the deckbuilder toolkits are a great product it's always nice to have the cards around so you don't have to buy every single common for decks and the packs are a nice bonus
I agree will
your videos make me happy just wish you'd ramble on more. magic players want to talk about magic because we don't have anyone to talk about magic with.
Literally just played two games with welcome decks. Local store gave me 5!! Definitely will be buying more cards!
I must say this is what I bought to get into the game and it helped alot with lands so I could build a deck so anything that gets more ppl playing is amazing
Yes me and my brother bought this and split it/ share our cards and it helped us SO MUCH! And it’s pretty cheap pretty nice
I played the game in the mid to late 90s. Got rid of all my cards then and just recently decided to start playing again. I picked up one of these deck builder kits and I agree with you, I think it helped me a lot and has definitely got me hooked again.
Def worth it if you don't have all thr cards to build a deck starting off. I grabbed a ravnica one when I first got back into it ans didn't regret it. Doubled as a decent cheap storage case too. Full of weed and land cards now but was useful for a bit
*weed and land cards*
Wtf are you smoking? Forest land cards?
“Full of weed”
Hol up.
Doctor doctor
Give me the news
I've got a
Big case, of deckbuilding tools
Give him two lands,
In his starting hand
More tool kit blues lol
Played this game 7 years ago for weeks straight with my freinds' decks and I loved it. When I found out Magic Arena was a thing, got it. Now that I'm somewhere where I can buy cards of my own, this seems like a good place to start.
Thanks for going through the deck!
This actually looks like a few of the kinda of cards I like to play. Kinda solid green, some druids, some warriors, cool.

If you have NO cards, here’s what i have been doing to get started.
Firstly, know a couple of decent value cards you want to build a deck around. Like a playset of lords. Win an auction on ebay at a fair price (tcgplayer). Message the seller telling them you have no cards and are trying to get started. Once in a while (often actually), you can find someone about to throw away a bunch of commons, uncommons and lands and will let you buy them for just the shipping. I have a little deck box of extras people sent me. I asked one person for whatever random cat cards she didnt mind parting with.
I’ve seen your videos where you buy repacks of common cards on ebay, and its bot worth it to pay money for stuff like mana, commons and dual lands. Probably not everyone can just beg on ebay, but im just being honest and finding a lot of people who are willing to do a lot to help anyone get started. Also, for people who have more common abd uncommon cards than they know what to do with would rather have them find a new home.
Are there enough cards to make a full deck in there?
For a standard 60 card deck, yes.
This comes with I believe 125 individual cards and 100 lands. So you should be set as far as getting started.
It totally worthy is you are new playing MTG.
These things are so good for providing set staples for sets moving forward. When I cracked a box of 2020 I didn’t get all the uncommons I needed so I’ll def grab up one of these when I can.
THE STUGGLE IS REAL
Tryin to open those plastic card packs take forever to open
Thank you Badboy Gaming! I won the Chaos Draft cards!! I've sent the email with my info.
Thanks again!!
I work at gamestop and preordered some core 2020 pack I pickup 7 and pulled a foil out of each one. So i believe your hypothesis of the increase in foils is true. Love the content and go Cleveland brown. Baker Mayfield is my friend
It's not a hypothesis. Mark Rosewater confirmed it on Twitter. It's 1:45 cards instead of 1:67.
One cool thing about this product is that it’s basically a make your own intro pack. Sigh. I miss the old school pre-cons.
First I thought you were singing Iron Maiden's "Doctor doctor please!"
Then I was disapointed
ufo :)
Moss boss when are the deck tech’s coming back?
He's working them in as he can. He said in a previous box opening that his Grandmother had passed and he's been working on getting life back to normal.
Caleb Crain I completely didn’t realise. Sorry J!
opened a box earlier today and holy balls... i got all leyline, sorin, mu yan ling, cavalier of thorns, the desecrated one, plus 4 scry lands. graffdigger foil too. plus some good decent rares. got the rare chandra and 2 uncommon chandra. sick 1 box opening hehehe.
Jonah Falcon i think you can try. just focus on modern already... last 2mos and standard will reset.
You should make some decks using these cards! I’d love to see a video like that.
I bought a Rav Allegiance version of the Deckbuilders Kit and was pumped when I found out that it comes w/4 different boosters, and not just 4 Ravnica boosters. I also pulled a Hydroid Krasis from my one RavnicaAllegiance pack. Made my day.
I get the frustration with the landfill, but the idea is for a brand new player to be able to make a 'playable' deck out of any color, so they kinda need to include it, and, obv., they have tons of this stuff and need to dump it.
Its my first time watching ur videos and I enjoyed it :)
Whats funny is how I got into MTG was in 8th grade during woodshop as well XD
Just got back in and bought a box, but adding the Theros Deck builders toolkit was a great buy. I got one of each demigod as well as the rares. These are actually pretty great. Just not geared toward veteran collectors.
I built a commander deck out of the same deck kit after I pulled a good out of one of the packs from it my commander is good and the rest of the cretures are elemental cards
Love these vids man. Been playing since my highschool junior year 1994! Been getting back into it again. Just pulled a wrenn and six from the only booster I bought from modern horizons lol. What a way to get back !!
Is it worth it? If you are brand new to the game absolutely. If you you are an experienced player you should know better than to buy sealed product
elkornu8 I’m brand new to the game. What format would this kit be good for? Standard?
@@Bumps1427 Yes, these are standard legal cards, however, these are mostly bulk cards. You can play casual matches with casual decks built from these cards. I did that with my ravnica allegiance toolkit.
@@Bumps1427 play pauper it's cheap and fun well cheap ish
Thanks for the video! I'm always excited whenever a new deck builder's toolkit comes out. =)
My favorite land is gateway plaza-I have a rainbow deck, ive had it for awhile and it is impressive I think in how well it works
1st video: this one. Specifically searched toolkit
If you have a bad molar is it worth it to grab a rusty pair of pliers and twist and pull....with hopes of having a successful dental experience....good question.
It was worth it for me because I pulled a Liliana Dreadhorde General in the WotS booster in the toolkit I bought!
I personally think this product is great, but only for new players. The amount of land they give you is definitely enough to get started if you have no connection whatsoever. But they're definitely only geared towards beginning players
I agree, also good for casual players.
I bought a deck builders 2020 toolkit yesterday ad pulled a liliana dread horde general out of the war of the spark booster pack I was so excited
I got my friends into magic with green stompy decks. Then theyd find what suited them later on. When I first started my cousin made me play a multi color deck.
Skadink, went to get 1 of these toolbox today and a modern horizon booster just to make it around 30 bucks. Got a foil Force of negation. So yeah went for the purchase of this was worth it 😁
I bought one and I got different cards. Not a single plainswalker
yeah that is how booster packs work
if you are a casual player, is better to spend money on proxies deck, funnier and you have a chance to win against 500$ and up decks against friends
What is the value if this set now? I got it for Christmas. A family member thought k still played but I have not since 2002. Anyway thoughts?
I didnt play in about 15 years and i dont like the innistrad day/night mechanic. Any tips on what i should buy... I dont like weird mechanics just the oldschool MTG
My friend bought a modern horizons booster pack yesterday, and pulled a foil hexdrinker!! crazy stuff
Congrats to the folks that won :)
I scored all 3 Chandras out of one box
Nice
Dont know why you remind me the friend of Ali G 🤣. Love your channel, thanks for the good vídeos bro!!
Thanks for uploading !
So an experienced player shouldn't buy this but you did nothing to answer any questions for a beginner lol The comments of the video have helped more than the video itself.
I watched another box opening of the same product earlier today and planar cleansing and ritual of soot were 2 of the rares he got in his booster packs....coincidence, I think not!
purchased a 2020 deck builder's toolkit today and pulled Kaya , 2 Chandras and another dungeon geist (one of my favorite cards)
8:53 ¿Busted?
Just bought one this morning...not bad not bad
Hey bad boy skadoosh I opened a fat pack of m20 and pulled a creeping trail blazer and it was a rare I didny know that it was an uncommon ao I'm think it might have been a miss print because my local game store that I go to the owner bought it from me for like $20 and I think my creeping trail blaze was a misprint and hate that I cant get it back
I throw 4 Angel of Vitality in an Ajani deck and it is helpful
I’ve bought a few deck builder toolkits and I haven’t really ever hit big but I have a crap ton of lands
PS IT NEEDS MORE LANDS I HAVE JUST OVER 50 DECKS AND I AM WORKING ON OVER 1K MORE SO IT NEEDS MORE LANDS AND CARDS BUT I LOVE GETING THEM SAVES ME A LOT OF MONEY
CXT-fHix-fAf For da ninja fam....here's a prerelease arena code first come first served!
wow! ty buddy :))))
@@Lucas-lp9kh welcome! Have a good day and enjoy those packs💪😉
Are you guaranteed a planeswalker from this
Love your vids
Favorite youtuber
That box that you said had not use it’s meant to hold your deckin the box
It's a spacer to keep stuff held in place. You don't want the card packs knocking around during shipment
The first vid I watched was the thermos beyond death vid
They did it for ravnica allegiance deck builders tool kit
6:21 Notable names he threw out "Jimmiy, Billy, Bimmy, Marshall & Mathers." Anyone get this?
Marshall Mathers I got. Even replied to it.
When you said lotus field I thought it was me because that was my response 😅
You wtf I was in wood shop 1 day ago when I met this guy who asked me if I knew magic the gathering I said no and he showed me how to play after school
Magic the spending
I'm pissed the bundles don't come with a manual anymore
spyder2238 I know!!!!!!!!! I was like where the F is my manual?????????
@@elkornu8 I liked collecting them
I guess they decided to take it out since they gave us an oversized die
Toolkit 2019 or 2020. Which is better?
I’m new to magic, what is the best premade deck to buy to start off with?
Challenger decks for sure
Marshall, Mathers... Won't the real Slim Shady please stand up?
Would be cool if u would make a deck tech using only m20 cards tho...
how much is it
Im getting one of these
Play Woodland Champion, then Avenger of Zendikar :D
I miss playing magic so much I would like to get back into it but I’m broke and have no friends.
Good way to make new friends
Good way to make new friends go to a shop and play
I pulled a foil omnath and a mu yangling out of a fat pack
Hopefully they keep the new tokens moving forward
Got my first two planeswalker from this toolkit
I got my first two planeswalkers from the my yanling planeswalker deck and a planeswalker my cousin gave me
Woohoo. I'm a winner!
Look at me ma. Top of the world
Skadoosh watching before i go to work
It’s great I made 3 decks
I have an aggressive mammoth as we speak.
Did they change the number of booster packs in these toolkits?
nah
Love the vids
please pass it along it's not shandra it's Chandra cha chaaaoondrah
Fred France Shandra sounds better
My first video is the mirror match
I guess Toolkits are going to be Winter and Summer releases.
Every other set, (hence getting core 19, allegiance, and Core 20
You sound just like trey Parker from baseketball when your singing . Aka the creator of South Park lmao 😂
This is a great way to get a few rares and mythics but also lands-perfect for inexperienced players this was my first buy. While I was still a noob i thought that these were amazing and got like four more, then I realized they aren't very good for just buying cards-booster packs are the way to go
I bought one for the lands and i got a miss print corpse knight
wOw
I'm sorry but I cringed when you cut ACROSS the box instead of along an edge where it fits together :
U pulled it out of prerelease kit
definitely not worth it when the challenger decks exist. those give you a much better starting point to play fnm. you can buy a whole stack of lands for $4, which is arguably the one thing this product is good for.
Yarok is catching up in price
U sound a bit like heath ledgers joker😂
Do we have to be a patron for a month for the giveaway
2:31 open from the flaps on top
Mirror match
Cool vid
do another live stream
Boom
