as a native I think my people deserve much more❤
You do.
I hope things get better for you all.. I read about Thanksgiving Day and independence day and what it means to Native Americans cus there was a question about it in some American sociology book. Surprisingly it gave me a shock and also quite saddened by the incident of massacre. It's funny how Thanksgiving has changed its meaning overtime. Such spiteful humans!
As a black man I think we both do 💯
@@aliwaytv1857 i say end all foreign aid to israel and give that 4 billion a year to native and african americans instead
Yeah dude we do
Very much like what the Australian Aboriginals, Eskimos, Torres Strait Islanders, Maori's, And others went through

Well... no
AZTECS, INCAS, MAPUCHES.. AND GO ON
@Midan yaz I am from Europe, but I'm not Toxic. Hail from Croatia and beautiful Adriatic Sea.
Eskimos? there are none.
As a Native American, my take on the so called peaceful gathering of Puritans or Colonists and the Native First People at a celebratory feast is a moral tale, but not so much a historical narrative. The text book claim that there was a peaceful agreement to the giving (over to the invading British Colonial Government) of our Homeland is sheer fantasy. But as a moral story it would indeed be better told as a faith story. Thus, my Christ-centered perspective is one that is of charity, goodwill, giving from abundance to needy others, practicing creation care, and a true thankful heart in all gratitude to the Creator Lord God, by living in His Grace and within the peaceful life in harmony with others, at least in as much as one may keep it. For me and mine, Thanksgiving is a day of remembrance and of faith. There was a time, an era, of struggle, decline and war, but today is a new day, a different era, and we must build on this with new hope and retain peace by living in God’s evidential Truth. And for generations who are yet to come of all colour, just NO more lies.....
Tohidu! Wado!
Do natives still speak their language
I think they should teach the different languages in schools
Which is never going to happen i think
*Sad millions native american tribal people were killed. Columbus did not discover America, he destroyed it. Do not eulogise looter as a hero.*
*May souls of native americans get peace.*

That's a good idea I'm going to start fasting on Thanksgiving day because I was lied to I hope more people will did this as well!
NATIVE PRIDE IS POWERFUL

So many people tried to stole india. But all became unsuccessful. Islam, Christians, Portuguese etc..... Tried to stole India. But unsuccessful
Genociding and replace entire race is the meaning of stolen land

Im a native american and i celebrate thanksgiving
Yeah we dont celebrate Thanksgiving because of the history we celebrate it as a day to be with family and friends idk why people get so butthurt over it. I also think the story behind it was that the one native American tribe helped defeat another native American tribe and the feast was to celebrate that.
@@owen-nd7om I celebrate it for both. It's nit a holiday that celebrates genocide though. If you want ri celebrate genocide then you are free to celebrate Desoto Day or Cortez or Andrew Jaconson Day or Christopher Columbus.
As Palestinian we have the same issue with Nakba which the day Israelis celebrate their independence in fact it is when they killed Palestinian and kicked them out of their land
This is when President Bidan said there is many moral and values that are common between Israel and USA
I think this is what he means when they killed the original people the owner of the land and I don't know who they thank and what is the giving actually! It is stealing

We're all in this together, quit trying to sow dissent.
I know how horrible the pilgrims did to the Native Americans, but I do enjoy Thanksgiving as I spend time with my family and be thankful. Respect for the Native Americans.
It represents the blood spilt by colonisation

As a Native American to my new generation I would not allow thanks giving it’s not a thanks or a giving
I'm Ojibwé . I celebrate Thanksgiving .And so many other Native people in Canada. Of course we do know about History. However we do Thanksgiving because we celebrate that we are still here with our Families .
Thanksgiving is still bad for you
@@ShooterSpree03 I give thanks to the Creator. And it's not about pilgrims here.
Man. I was in 1st grade back in 1979. My bf Ben was a Native American I invited over for Thanksgiving. He told me his mother wouldn't allow him to come. So I told my mom and she went to his house.
I could tell by the look on my mom's face something was up, when his mom answered the door.
Next thing we were having a REAL convo about Thanksgiving.
Though it's our standard family tradition, we acknowledge and speak of the atrocities that lead to this holiday and our families eventually arrival via slave ships.
I've raised my family to understand the difference between reality and propaganda of our American traditions.
This way they don't feel ostracized, but they aren't bs'd by our system of white washing the truth.

@@brittanyhayes1043 No. I mean what I said. By the dictionary definition:

why no UN condemnation against US genocide against so many natives yet
I was given plates for my family and service as a (retired) US military Veteran-now this is akin to a (double) insult, as a ("white"). (Consider the so-called "Indian" wars in our history).
I am not trying to insult anyone by having a meal. I am cognizant of the history and I respect and will teach it to my kids (who are mixed, Honduran-American).
I think we can recognize the day not as a "celebration" but an understanding-of the origin knowing its mis-given.
Turkey really is the last place that should be accusing others of genocide against indigenous groups
They’re just looking for an excuse to pass out on listo in a bus stop tbh
You mad
I only taught my children and teach my grandchild to be thankful . I also teach them to acknowledge and respect the Indigenous People people of this land.
I will never celebrate thanksgiving again.
I wish they taught this to me in school. I feel like I’ve spent my entire adult life re- educating myself.
It's ok, I'm in my mid 40's and I am educating myself on so much history. The lies that have been told for centuries, and I am African American and Native American. We shouldn't be called either, we should be called American period.
@@moniquebarber207 Could the truth be somewhere between these two visions ?
I'm English and about 25 years ago I watched the Addams family values movie. That summed it up pretty well for me. Bit of a weird celebration.
When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land.

this what Israel (Jewish) did with the people of Palestine
You're an idiot, Israel has been attacked and driven from their land so much. Israel just took back what was theirs and are strong enough now to keep it. Palestinians are just squatters. Native Americans should eat turkey and be thankful they live in a country where you can get about anything you want depending on how hard you want to work for it.

Very sad
The first thanksgiving happened because when the pilgrims arrived they didn't know how to farm in the new world a native American tribe in the area approached the pilgrims with an offer they would teach the pilgrims how to farm on one condition the pilgrims help the native Americans in war against another tribe of native Americans so a group of pilgrims and native Americans attacked the other tribe they killed the men and burned the village to the ground the native Americans held up on thier end of the bargain and taught the pilgrims how to farm they celebrated the harvest at the first thanksgiving. so that killing of the village was a collaborative effort.
That is the history though.
Pensé que estaban sacrificando a alguien para complacer a sus dioses.
Das pena y verguensa agena.
It's basically an slaughtered by white men celebrations...
I also really don't like people pretending/claiming they are native americans, sounds bs in my own opinion :/
It's true, most are mixed but it doesn't mean they are completely something else either. They are the middleground. A mexican like myself can consider myself native by blood since I share alot of physical features with them, but culturally is a different story. Just like how light-skins(afro with whyte mix) can still consider themselves blvck, why can we not consider ourselves native as well? We have to also take into account that native identity has been nearly wiped out, it's not easy to recover what's been lost. Not just Natives, also the Americans here as they come from various backgrounds but do not embrace the traditions/cultures of their homeland(Europe). The only difference is that the natives here want to bring out and express their roots, it's somehow a stigma when we do it but any other race can express their culture without it being a stigma. It's only my observation but anyone else can differ in experience.
Growing up in school i was thought wrong bout the relationship between true Americans and Europeans😤😥

A native American here.
My ancestors were killed, burned, raped, and was kicked from their lands.
But I still choose to celebrate the holiday as a reminder that because of my ancestors I am here today. My family will eternally be grateful and not a day goes by were they are forgotten.
It's the same if you didn't celebrate it. In fact, by fasting or doing something out of your typical routine - you're remembering your identity more often, which you deserve.
I'm Glade to be of European decent a settler and colonizer decent and love Thanksgiving to celebrate Thanksgiving not the so call genocide.of Native Americans.
@Brittany Hayes
what?
@@grammarlover292 Thanksgiving is not a memorial of genocide. It was a literal event that happend between Colonist and Native.
@@brittanyhayes1043 but there was no such feast. Although it is written that Squanto had helped the settlers hunt, fish, & grow crop. Thankful at this time period they prayed to God for 3 days in thanks to their harvest. George Washington later made Thanksgiving a National Day of celebration. Randy Avril what about Whataboutism...
Randy Avril yes, indeed! A lot of tribes massacring each other. And the Pilgrims came to a village that died from disease. They were conservative Christians, no military or mass fighting capabilities.
They were Chrisitian ISIS.
Randy Avril man white ppl are claiming there is a white genocide but I don't see any white ppl walking around with names like Muhammad, red feather, or uhuru
Proof?
I am so sorry for your sorry existence! It hurts to feel alienated in own land! Unbearable cold pain! America was founded on the dead bodies of butchered and raped Native people but world is silent which is even more painful to realise.
Thank you, as a Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux, my family gather and remember my family and what happened to many in 1830-1920: starved, frozen, kidnapped from mothers and sent to Virginia Institute to be dressed like white children. My great grandmother was a historian for my tribe. She was Sitting Bull’s confidante and interpreter. Her name was Josephine McCarthy Waggoner and wrote three books.
YES it was a peaceful feast with BOTH settlers & natives in 1621, after which there was peace with that specific group, but the TWO joined forces to against NEIGHBOURING TRIBES who were VIOLENTLY attacking their neighboring Indians, JUST LIKE they had been doing FOR HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of years prior to settlers EVER stepped foot on these shores.
Were atrocities committed?? Absolutely, by BOTH settlers & natives. AND atrocities committed BETWEEN TRIBES for many, many CENTURIES before Europeans showed up. You forgot to mention anything about that. Neither did you mention the settlers wanting to buy land & the confusion about that by natives bc they had no concept of land ownership & afterwards wanted the land back, which caused conflict. You didn't mention violent way of life natives had by invading other lands & neighboring tribes, slaughtering men, women & children, taking them as slaves ALL BEFORE settlers got here. And GOD FORBID the white man insist on that not happening to their own wives & children. Were settlers innocent?? By no means!! Nobody is, has been nor ever will be perfect. Just saying this kinda ONE-sided story, this MARXIST Good vs Evil History narrative is UTTER BS.
The world was much different back then. There wasn't the ABUNDANCE there is today in any country. ALL ppl were snatching & grabbing from others to prosper. Before settlers arrived HERE, that took place between ALL the natives for 100's if not 1000's of years.
I hate thanksgiving.
Can't wait to see the day that, finally, America are dominated by the Blacks, Arabs, and the Hispanics. And the whites are kicked off from their lands, just like what happened to those poor Native Americans hundreds years ago. And I also hope that those Blacks, Arabs and Hispanics celebrates the day when it happens.
For the Native Americans, you people have my sympathy. I love to read stories about Native Americans when I was a child even though I live in Indonesia. Your wisdoms teach me a lot. Now us natives in Indonesia are at risk of being kicked out from our own land too so I kinda know how you feel.
I envision this dream so much. I'm Asian, living in America and when I see them white people, I just look at them as if they don't belong here lol
Why would those groups kick out white people? Many Hispanics are white, and many Arab Americans intermarry with European Americans and are assimilated into white American culture. So would these groups kick out themselves?
I'm brown & I support white people being proud of who they are. So, let the natives be proud of themselves. It's annoying to think that people are butthurt about native americans having an opinion about the land they originated from.
Its butthurt for Native Americans ir other poc to think Thanksgiving is racist when it's not.
Jesus will save us soon from satans garbage
I stopped listening at "Native American".
Haudenashonee. Not this 'American' gibberish.
The pilgrims were very good to the native Americans. I have a good friend that's native American and he loves it when he gets his casino check. His last check he bought a PS4.
They are so evil! They never stop! Thank you so much for sharing.💕
I think the real evil is people who complain and have a problem when people celebrate Thanksgiving. More so the revisionist history of the creation of Thanksgiving to demonize our Mayflower ancestors. You are no better.
People need to get with the facts! no one land belongs to any one group of people...in nature the strongest occupy that's how it works! To say that so-called Native Americans have the right to the US is laughable. people have been pushing people off land for thousands of years and the the lineage of the so-called indigenous peoples of the US has been traced back to Eurasia so who did they take the land from? And last I checked isn't the Cradle of mankind in Africa.. that would mean that Native people would have migrated to the Americas hence they we're not indigenous to the area 😉
Well I am not gonna talk about this video specifically, since I lack the knowledge about Native Americans and all those wars between native Americans and Europian settlers. What I do wanna mention, is how dangerous your logic is. One could use the same reasoning to justify what Hitler's did with Jews, one could use such logic to justify Nazi ideas and actions and make it look natural. Your logic, with all due respect, is devastating...
Amirowsen H. I don't think you can compare ethnic cleansing to land grabbing! It very easy to distinguish the difference between the two... don't be naive!
Amirowsen H. And besides I'm merely pointing out known facts about natural human behavior so pump those brakes! You come to some weird conclusions.
Ugh no. Just no. Are you telling me you would fine with someone slaughtering YOU if they came to take your land? Somehow I highly doubt that. I swear people like you are so frustrating.
I know bro, I'm not trynna start a comment war here. I know you have just pointed out some known facts about natural human behavior, all I am saying is that it might be natural human behaviour, but it simply doesn't mean that it's righteous and just. I believe it's dangerous to think that way, that's all :)
Native Americans are not all fair skin people. There were native indian people with dark brown skin, who people call black today, in America before the colonists settled. People in countries near the equator, people of the sun, such as the African countries, India, Hawaii, New Zealand, Fiji, Caribbean countries were mostly reddish brown, brown or dark brown skinned and were nomadic people. They were traveling in canoes around what we call the equator area.
By definition there was no genocide.
@Capitan Barbosa But who did it? That was never ordered from the crown or US government. It is just regular warfare. Remember the natives, against the british were forced to strike first. There was terrible crimes on all sides as well. Also remember if this is genocide, then what Napolean did in europe is also genocide. The closest thing to genocide would be what the spanish did. However the spanish did that in europe with the inquistion. So the definition is there was a order to literally wipe out the natives and not just take land. So I ask again who ordered it?
Total denial
No, This wasnt one sided at all.Ill tell you what almost all Indians do on thanksgiving, The same thing everyone else does. they all get with their family and friends and have a big feast. Yeah, bad stuff happened. Get over it!
