    Aileron vs foil? Some of the riders in the results are listed as Aileron (Jordy) while others are listed as foil. Is there something new out there that is being used by the pros?

    Great video! Is it also true for the last 1-2 years that the Speedster is more racy than the V8?

    One of the good guys and a great vid.

    65kg and on a plant based wholefood diet - i dont think i'll ever be fast. But how fast is needed for fast type of fun? 3:51 Word on the street is those NP sails sound too serious. I'll be fast enough fun on easy Ezzy fun machines 🤪

      JimsWindsurfing! You can go fast enough. But probably don’t win a PWA race or a long distance. Still you get away with smalle equipment, you get going earlier and there is nothing stopping you from being a freestyle and wave champ 😁❤️

    Really funny that Nico doesn't remember his own rule concerning fin size vs. board width😂 I think he recommended the calculation here: czcams.com/video/PEZrY4FpNmk/video.htmlsi=Kyl7X0xvCgX27mbz

    Muscle Mass is fast ... Fat just gets in the way, but hey ho; if that's how the "elephants" that sail want to look at it they're free to think so.
    I'd love to see them on a wave board ....... One thing going straight at speed with all that fat, quite another making it "work" in the waves.
    Speed Surfing should have the windsurfer's weight beside the noted speed and weight categories.

    • @WindsurfingTV

      Weight is fast... how ever you get it!

    • @user-oe1mb9hu9i

      @@WindsurfingTV Seriously Ben. These guys are fast because they have the technique of when they were young. It's what they have done for a living and have done all their lives.
      Fat is not fast. Weight is. Just like you say.
      Look at Nico Prien. He's an athlete.
      He's tall which also helps, but his weight goes with his muscle mass and he can move it appropriately. Beer Belly is fast in a straight line, and then there is all the flab that goes with it.

  • @Felix-bh3fu
    @Felix-bh3fu Před 2 měsíci

    1 question to the riders weight: why is heavier = faster ? Is it simply because they can hold bigger sails with their body weight ? How about getting planning and weight ? When you see children, they are planning extremely early but they never get fast

    • @windyfly4313
      @windyfly4313 Před 2 měsíci

      Mass wants to go into the same direction as it is. Windgusts just have less impact on that. So you can handle a bigger sail and it take less effort. The downside is, if you dont use it right, a sag of potatos will never be fast. 😀 So for the well trained and strong PWA riders it's a good thing, for the lazy couch binch-eating netflix rookie surfer it is not.

    • @barneyrubble9309
      @barneyrubble9309 Před 2 měsíci +2

      It's also to do with leverage...all the really fast guys are tall as well as weight.
