this song or rather the entire ep is so fucking timeless. it never gets old. definitely a masterpiece in the entire post-hc/metalcore scene along with his last walk by blessthefall
I feel so weird, cuz I’m 17, and I’ve been listening to this stuff since I was like 14...hearing you adults remember your time as teens and everything is kinda heartwarming
I was 16 when this album came out. I discovered ASD a year after that. Back in 2008. I'm 29 now so I'm up there with them almost. But, I still bump this and the whole wires album. Even if they are broken up, these guys are still the pinnacle of what post hardcore is.
Same here man. 32 now and remember listening to them, original ETF, BlessTheFall and other bands when I was a teen. Never realized at the time they would have turned out to be my favorite bands and that listening to them now brings me back to that time.
The battle loves to choose its fights Collapse the sight of soldiers eyes Bombs cascading over me May my body rest in pieces Spring morning rain Heal the wounds in me On me The battle is won I’m not coming home Spring morning rain Stitch me up with strings of symphonies On me The battle is won Close your eyes just dream I’m not coming home The battle is won Close your eyes just Dream of me, locked inside your mind I’ll hide Scream my name, feel me breathe along your thighs Close your eyes just dream Grasping of your sheets Turn out the lights Holding on to memories Never felt so right Shaking, squirming in your skin tonight Oh my Marie, oh my Marie This is a reason for broken wings Spring morning rain Heal the wounds in me On me The battle is won Close your eyes just dream I’m not coming home The battle is won Close your eyes just Dream of me, locked inside your mind I’ll hide Scream my name, feel me breathe along your thighs Close your eyes just dream
2010, I was 20 years old, my brother had just broken up with his long time gf. He sat in the car with me and I played this song for him while he cried his eyes out… even tho it might seem kinda sad it was a fantastic experience I will never forget. He needed to let it out anyways it was good for him I also played “feel it” by passafire and “true love way” by kings of Leon, that big bastard cried the whole time and it was a great bonding experience
Took me a half hour to find this song! I haven't listened to it in ages, and I kept typing in A Silent Drive, not A Skylit Drive. I feel so much better!
Lol I haven't heard this since it came out and could not remember the melody of the lyrics for 30 mins as well. It was killing me but glad I found it, memories.
Maaaannnn the days were good when i was first intorduced to this album/band back when i was 14... now im 27 time flies but it does get better for all of you out there struggling with life, dont give up!
Descansa en paz Jordan 🤍😔 Gracias por haber sido parte de mi adolescencia, sin duda una de las mejores y hermosas voces que tuve la suerte de conocer ✨ gracias por tanto... :')
Music like this is timeless! Discovered this band not long ago this year in the middle of 2017. Best music I've heard so far, along with many other hidden artists due to the more popular mainstream artists on the Music Market.
Played with these guys a few times in louisville,ky. I will say, out of all the big bands like these guys at the time, they were the most down to earth and talented musically. Also they partied very well. Loving hearing these guys again
This is literally my favorite song. Since I was 14. I haven't listened to it for so long it sounds so much better when you go a while not listening to a song
Where the fuck did time go!!!! Loved this album in grade 7 and 8. Listened to them ever since then, but will never forget when I found this album in 2007 or 2008.
I cannot describe the feeling I had listening to this with fresh ears as an early teen. I would close my eyes on the school bus and just imagine things in my head. It was the only comfort I had then and it’s something that I’ll never forget and still visit at 27.
seriously this is some of the most addictive music ever. and it's strange because like most music for at least me the 'cool and exciting' effect starts to die off, but not with skylit drive. they used some sort of magic when making these songs I swear.
renting a computer to download this good sht and burn to CD. listening to them since 2009 Im just 20 yrs old back then... now I'm fcking 33.... still listening to them

My cousin I swear ' borrowed' and never gave back this album, it may not be as well known as " wires" yet I liked it more because I knew it better
I was 16, now I'm 28. Still hits

You will always be missed.
I was your age when this EP was released. It really was an amazing time to be a teen. Such a good scene being an emo kid in those days, so pure.
I was a junior in high school when I discovered this band. I'm 30 now and I still listen to them 💕
Same, I'm now 32 haha
I’m a junior in high school and I just discovered them, I love 2000s Metalcore and post hardcore and emo and all that., it sounds awesome

My band is opening for them tomorrow night in Reno and I'm so fucking happy I could cry, this album was a huge part of my childhood/emo kid days
Was it awesome?
The battle loves to choose its fights
Collapse the sight of soldiers eyes
Bombs cascading over me
May my body rest in pieces
Spring morning rain
Heal the wounds in me
On me
The battle is won
I’m not coming home
Spring morning rain
Stitch me up with strings of symphonies
On me
The battle is won
Close your eyes just dream
I’m not coming home
The battle is won
Close your eyes just
Dream of me, locked inside your mind I’ll hide
Scream my name, feel me breathe along your thighs
Close your eyes just dream
Grasping of your sheets
Turn out the lights
Holding on to memories
Never felt so right
Shaking, squirming in your skin tonight
Oh my Marie, oh my Marie
This is a reason for broken wings
Spring morning rain
Heal the wounds in me
On me
The battle is won
Close your eyes just dream
I’m not coming home
The battle is won
Close your eyes just
Dream of me, locked inside your mind I’ll hide
Scream my name, feel me breathe along your thighs
Close your eyes just dream
Much deeper than it appears
I used to hear "Close your eyes and scream."
Holding onto memories never felt so right
save me

Favorite song by skylit! Been jamming to this song since it came out.

This is fabulous. I don't want to compare them to anyone, but it kind of makes me think of "They're Only Chasing Safety."
My favorite part is when Eric Cartman comes in and screams "This is a reason for broken wings"
