Yep. Throw probably wasn't good enough for an out, but it was totally catchable. Vladdie was too worried about his feet when all he needed to do was catch it.

Great job by the Nats, Corbin didn’t pitch ALL that badly and the 7th inning comeback was nice with the Garcia homer, Kikuchi pitched well but I thought the Nats did a decent job at giving him some trouble

The Jays do that so often. Do well for a good portion of the game, then fly apart at the seams at the end.

Time to fire Shapiro and his lap-dog Atkins. They gutted the soul of this team when they traded Lourdes and Teoscar. It will keep getting progressively worse. Not only did Teo and Lourdes' bats protect Vladdy from being given nothing to hit, their antics kept the team loosie-goosie, which is so important in the high-pressure Toronto market. Now the whole team looks so stiff and afraid to fail.😢

Watch that footwork of Vladdy at 1st. Many of the MLB Right handed 1st basemen anchor with their left foot. How is a person supposed to pivot properly and maintain balance with that technique ? The poor throw from IKF was at minimum blockable, but Vladdy's terrible left foot anchor forces his entire body into a position that makes a throwing error also a run causing catching error. You can not fix that deeply engrained fundamental in Vladdy's game easily. I hope the defensive coaching staff take notice and take action.

Remeber Jays fans how much power and average we traded away to get a more “balanced team”. Now the Jays’ offence is bottom of the league and our bullpen does a great job of balancing the score.
We lost because we have no hitting, the pitcher did his job the offense didn't, pretty simple
They brag about their starters, yet their relievers are the problem.
How does vladdy drop that? Man can he just get hot for a couple months to push up trade value and move him already?
I am a highlights-watching Blue Jays fan and when I saw Swanson come in with a 3-run lead, even I knew that was a shaky proposition. What is this manager doing? Seriously? Current Swanson should only pitch in blowouts for the team or in bad losing situations, no?

It is truly unbearable to watch the Blue Jays play like a double A team and that does not include the mediocre relieve pitching. The whole thing makes me re-think going to the ballpark to see them play.

Shapiro and Atkins need to go as well, they did nothing to improve this offence from last year and they showed last season that the offence was weak. They missed out on ohtani and just picked up their ball and went home for the rest of the offseason

The Jays starting Pitchers doing well but still losing is the equivalent of when you have a really solid Job Interview but they're like "You interviewed well and have a lot of positives, but we decided to go with someone else"
other then Berrios and Kikuchi, the other starters have not been good, especially Bassitt. They were barely a playoff team last season with the best pitching in baseball, if the staff doesn't right the ship, this team has zero chance cause the offence is terrible

Ernie executes a proper bunt for the first time in the last 10 years. Kikuchi makes it passed the 2 inning. Lots of hard hit balls.
And now for the negatives Swanson shows up out of shape and continues to throw bp and the rest of the season at maybe a .500 record.

@@red3here Can you really say otherwise at this point? Manoah, Vogelbach, Guerro and Kirk are all overweight. The team consistently commits baserunning errors - either athlete induced or by the base coaches. And the coaches aren't making the team better on any front.
