Hey Tony. Totally anal-retentive question. Those bar end plugs. Are they stock? or if not, what are they? The ones that come on my Defy Advanced 2 are chintzy, ha! These look better. I know, dude, too much free time! Cheers.
Good eye. Yes, I changed mine. I never use push in style plugs. They always fall out. These are made by all city. But there are so many brands that make these. The easiest ones to find are supercaz. If you are going to replace your bar with tape it will come with them, if not you can just order ends in many colors. These work like a concrete anchor. Tighten the screw and it expands inside the bar to secure.
It’s a nice bike like many other giant bikes, but the one thing they all have in common is the weight! So much weight for so much money! They ain’t worth it!
This is actually an endurance bike. Giant wasn't looking to make the lightest bike possible. They wanted it to feel solid and ride smooth. My tcr of the same size came in at 16.3 lbs. I could have dropped another pound with lighter parts
twowheeltony I know it’s an endurance bike. I’m looking to sell my Cannondale Caad12 and buy a Giant TCR, but they’re all heavier than my 4yr old rim brake aluminum bike. Discs aren’t worth the extra weight especially when you pay thousands of dollars for a whole load of extra weight. Even the rim brake versions are similar in weight to what I already have, so I think I’ll stick with what I have.

Does the 18.03 weight you mentioned include the pedals?
Yes. As the bike sits.
@@blkbelttony, I bought one five data ago. Awesome bike!
I bought a size M, but it weights 18.70 lb... I can't explain the Diference... :/
Difference in scales?
Very nice video. I'm from Turkey and due to the value of the currency here, i have to pay around 15-16k compared to where you live. I wake up with Defy 2 videos and then sleep watching again and again but seems like i won't be able to afford it for a long while so i'll just make do with the videos for more time in the future. I wish i lived there. Have fun with Defy ! ✌🏽
I'm happy you liked my video. Hopefully some day you can get one
Where did you buy spacers for the build??
This was a factory stock build. Spacers came with the bike
@@blkbelttony that kind of spaces are hard to find.
Ask local giant dealers if they have any from customers that cut down sterling tubes
Which TCR did you have?
2018 tcr advanced pro. Rim brake and ultegra
Thanks I just ordered my defy pro
Still no complaints with mine. Just keep the rubber spacers under the stem lubed up. I use a drop of thin oil or white grease. Keeps them from sticking and will keep them lasting longer
Bike of the year for endurance 2020

2021 Defy pro? Or 2021 TCR pro?
For who? Me or you? What type of riding do you do? Are you a sprinter, or like to stay seated fir longer rides? Both bikes are great. Only you can decide. I just give my own opinions based on how I ride. Let me know what you choose
@@blkbelttony for me and i tend to do both types of riding, i just want a solid bike for both comfort and speed, but both bikes i heard are comfortable. I just wanted an opinion on what would be best since you’ve owned both!
@@mthrizzle707 being i still own a 2020 defy and the new 21 tcr I'd pick the tcr. But thats me. True it is very comfortable for a race bike. You definitely need to look at both bikes and ride them before you decide. I can only tell you based on my experience with both in relevance to what's comfortable to me. But this might help too. If you buy a disk brake version tcr you can mount up to 32c tires on it. That would make it an entirely different bike. But on the other hand,, the defy can go bigger 35c and become a gravel bike.
Lovely bike and all i have hered about them has been great reviews , but that stem is a mess
It's not as bad as you might think. I put a little grease between the rubber and never have any issues. Thanks for watching
Yup thats Jersey City I know these backgrounds
Sure is
@@blkbelttony
Hey... Can you tell me your height and what your stride length is? ( i hope thats the right word)
I would appreciate if you could give it in cm. 😊
The reason i'm asking is because i want a Defy, but not quite sure what size i should buy. I'm 185 cm tall and my stride lenght is 89 cm.
I am 5'11"" with a 31" inseam. You should go to a giant retailer and let them size you.
Weight?
About 18lbs
Can you do some gravel with this bike?
Go into my my video list. There is a video of same defy on 28c tires doing gravel
@@blkbelttony nice to see that, but do you feel it would be safe to do so every time you go out for a ride? is there any risk to break the wheels in the long term?
@@ChiccoMusic12 I would not. I also have the revolt gravel bike. If I had to choose between them both I'd go revolt all day long fir versatility. It's not as sleek looking as a defy, but safer for gravel and you can always do road with it
@@blkbelttony thank you. I thought the defy was good enough for gravel riding with those 32 tires. Maybe it's not. The revolt is slower on tarmac i guess.
@@ChiccoMusic12 not like you think. Some of my best strava times are on my revolt.in fact I took a few koms on asphalt with that bike. Test them both out if you can.either bike is a great bike.
What size?
Medium/large
@@blkbelttony thnx
If you ever want to sell this bike I’m your man
It's up for sale with the Reynolds wheels.
They finally ditched that stupid stem for 2021 models
Giant this year has made the bikes easier to work on and travel with. The average defy owner wasn't looking for marginal gains over complications
old man bike :D
Hardly an old man's bike. Just a better option for certain roads
@@blkbelttony Flat roads :D
Great video
Thank you
