I was lucky and got to film this relatively rare bird in May 2020.
You will also see in the movie that the male gives food to the female, to strengthen the bond between them.
Hawfinch is a relatively new species in Norway, and until 1959 it was only proven to breed twice in the country. It has increased significantly in number since the 1970s, and now breeds in small numbers from the Oslofjord area to Agder. It has also been shown to breed in the Inland, Trøndelag and Nordland. Furthermore, it has been observed north of Troms and Finnmark. The Norwegian population is estimated at 2,500-10,000 pairs.
Many Hawfinch are resident birds that spend the whole year in Norway, while others are migratory birds. Among other things, ringed birds have been found in France and Spain.

Ik had geluk en mocht deze relatief zeldzame vogel in mei 2020 filmen.
Je zult in het filmpje ook zien dat het mannetje het vrouwtje voedsel geeft om de band tussen hen te versterken.
Appelvink is een relatief nieuwe soort in Noorwegen, en tot 1959 werd slechts twee keer bewezen dat het in het land broedde. Het is sinds de jaren zeventig aanzienlijk in aantal toegenomen en broedt nu in kleine aantallen van het Oslofjord-gebied naar Agder. Het is ook aangetoond dat het broedt in het binnenland, Trøndelag en Nordland. Bovendien is het waargenomen ten noorden van Troms en Finnmark. De Noorse bevolking wordt geschat op 2.500-10.000 paren.
