I think the reason it might not have much of a youtube presence is cause of them being gothic, most doll influencers are more into brightly colored dolls like rainbow high and barbie, i see people even straight out claiming monster high dolls and the neon shadow(from shadow high) dolls arent actually alt cause they have color and fur clothing which shows me they dont know what alt culture is cause it can include color and fur clothing lol i mean lolita and scene are both alt and both are very colorful
Dude it drives me up the wall when people assume that because something involves color (or animal print or whatever) it can’t be alt 😭
Yeah I hope they get a resurgence ! I think there would be a lot more love for them if they came out today !

Like i see posts on tumblr basically going “how is monster high alt when it has color” even when you correct them they go “hm im not stupid i know alt isnt just black” like then why are you claiming mh isnt altarnative then!! Sanders himself addmitted the altarnative community is what inspired him to make monster high , people arent making things up its so obv monster high is inspired by not only universal in terms of character and story but the altarnative scene in terms of fashion
Same here!! The only alt dolls i see get some attention nowadays are some gothic/emo/punk lol dolls and shadow high, i really hope they get the same attention bratzillaz and novi stars are getting

I own some Bleeding Edge Goths dolls and it was explained to me that the reason these dolls have yellow faces is due to a factory error. The stickiness on their face could be due to plasticizer oozing (I gently washed mine with some soap and warm water and it helped).

I saw these begoth dolls on Amazon and eBay! I wanted to buy a collection of them but I don’t have a credit card. They look cool! They’d be great dolls to have while the monster high doll line is failing with their designs.

It is so cool you were able to get them. I had about 30 of them. I sold my collection last year. The older dolls faces can turn yellow and get sticky.

I think the reason they weren't more popular/didn't have as much traction or staying power as MH dolls is because 1. They were (purposefully) more niche and therefore less people buying 2. They were still pretty expensive for dolls at the time so the only people buying them were alternative accepting parents and adult goth collectors with disposable income which just.. further limited their accessibility
It was way easier to just.. buy a 10$ barbie and diy her makeup and outfit yourself.. so ironically more traditionally goth..
I love them and have drooled over them since they first came out but doll collecting isn't really my thing (it's action figures, comics and MLP for me 🤣) but I'm so happy to get to second hand enjoy them with you!!!

i recently found out about these dolls and the secondhand market for them is insane !!! they are so cool and gorgeous and lovely i definitely want to collect these alongside my mh dolls. i just turned 20 this month and im really into gothic and alternative subcultures which my older sibling influenced me in sm and you remind me of them :) idk if i could choose a favorite of these dolls theyre all so unique and eye catching

I absolutely love this doll line ! I have been doing the same thing for at least 10 years now ! I’ve looked up every single bit of information that I could ever possibly find about them! Sadly I haven’t bought any yet.😢 I always hesitate because of there cost on top of the fact I have a huge doll collection and there’s seemingly always other doll’s that I want just a bit more and then prioritize my money towards other dolls . But , seeing them again now in your video is a great reminder to me of just how Gorgeous these dolls are !

Also there are ways to reattach dolls back to their box, courtly jester recently showed a trick to reattach a doll to her box so she looks new in box , i even did that with my casta fierce since i got her box too (before deciding to take her out again)

@@RattusRattus yeah! Its possible to do by using the ties of a differently recently opened box(obv not cutting them) you simply retie the doll using a reference and it makes it seem like she was never opened before

I have 4 Bleeding Edge Goths dolls. 2 bought 20 years ago in Camden market (Sinstress and Victoria Creeper), one from Ebay in not so great condition that I adore (Slayer Storm. It has an interesting story. I ended up having a refund and keeping the doll) and one I have found recently in a toy festival very cheaply (Malice).
I don't know where I put my two Camden dolls (reorganising at the moment, everything is a mess). I remember having issues with stickiness and staining on them. The last one I bought seems fine. I ideally would love a few more but I am not actively looking for them. I have found Malice unexpectedly. Maybe it will happen again, who knows!
I think they are not talked about very much because they have been discontinued already a while ago. Some other discontinued lines are not talked about that much either. They were difficult to find when they were produced. I bought mine in specific Gothic shops in Camden market. I haven't seen these dolls anywhere else. They were not sold in toy shops and I don't think they were meant for children either.

you gotta use gel polish only on your nails. triple coat and cure them. also get them filed to a point. your makeup and look is so perfect, you just need the cat claws on point meow =^_^=
