- 16th century Spanish "villancico", a common repertoire-for-choirs piece, performed by the Lithuanian boys choir Dagilelis at Moscow Art Theater (MKhAT) in oct. 2016.
That day Dagilelis was a guest choir of the Sveshnikov Boys Choir, who will perform in turn later in the evening. The flower adornment of the porrtait at the back is a tribute to Viktor Popov, famous director of the Sveshnikov Choir Academy from 1970, who passed away in July 2008.
Choir master Remigijus Adornaitis founded Dagilelis in 1990 and has directed the boys ever since. The quality reached by the choir makes them deserve to be better known around Western countries. - Hudba
The soloist has a delightful voice, very smooth and he holds the notes very well. His pronunciation is great and much better than most I've heard for this song.
Bravo lithuanian boys 👍🏻
The soloist SNAPPED
This has become a new favorite Xmas tune for me. I'm loving it! WELL DONE.
At one time I listened to this without batting an eyelash. Now I'm almost shocked that a choir with young boys in it could sound this good, as I work at a school and... let's just say there are boys who have other priorities than singing in choir class. Kudos to the director!
I find boy choirs to be some of the very best. Surprised that you're shocked about this.
I like the modern outfits that help to bring this ancient carol into the 21st century. Timely now, as then.
I love the little guy in the middle of the front row. He's just ITCHING, from foot to foot, to add his voice.
There's a 100% seriousness to this group of boys that is wonderful to behold. Every single one of them seems totally into what they're singing.
Beautiful
Fantastico.... 😮👏🏻
Well done!
Bravo il solista (e anche il coro).
Quite good.
Merry Christmas.
Simply gorgeous!!!
Eccezionali bravissimi
"Riu. riu chiu la guarda ribera" del "Cancionero de Upsala" (o "Cancionero de Calabria") (1556). Muy buena la pronunciación española. Gracias por compartir.

Linda interpretação, com pronúncia perfeita do espanhol! E que voz bonita a deste solista!
La pronunciación es moderna, la original es del castellano antiguo

kto ogląda sierpień 2019?
I don't know Spanish language, but I can't find proper lyrics for what they are singing. Original carol has 5 verses, in this case 3rd and 4th are replaced by one, but different. Can anyone point me to their lyrics or write down their?
La referencia mamón!!!
No entiendo el porqué de las palmadas.
Still prefer the Monkees version ...
Me too Alan! The Monkees harmony on this song is unequalled!
excellent, except the palms, they spoil the melody.
oof
