the difference between blair and all the other mean girl characters now is that, blair is actually tasteful, smart, cunning, and knowledgeable. a little sanctimonious, but breaks her own rules from time to time. her pride and competitiveness gets her in trouble most of the time, but that's the spice to her character. blair believes she is the best, but she can be insecure at times and that insecurity motivates her. blair wasn't being mean just to be mean. for short, blair had character depth. also, if you pay attention, her lines/dialogue in the show were actually very well written. in this essay i will - -
I know this is an old comment, but I also wanted to point out that the show held her accountable for the times she crossed the line. Sometimes the other characters (Serena, for example) would do bad things, but they wouldn't get punished the way she was - in my opinion, it makes her character more likeable.

I recently watched gossip girl (after I watched river dale) and realized how hard Betty was Serena, dating loner boy but also having a thing with popular boy Archie/Nate) Veronica was (trying) to be Blair, (down to the clothes and the language) DAN and JUGHEAD, right down to loner boy, and dating the popular girl but liking loner boy more) similarities, Archie and Nate were so similar it’s crazy, (dating teacher who had a husband, family problems, mom coming back) and chuck was , well chuck Clayton. like how hard was riverdale trying to be gossip girl?

Blair is the single reason why this show kept its burning charisma. I love it when she plans her manipulative schemes and the lovely Dorota is always there to help.

I finished this show about 2 months ago and it was really good, I started becoming a Blair fan in season 2 because Serena got really annoying especially towards season five and six! She did some pretty messed up things but she was a overall good actor. I also really liked how over time Chuck matured! But this show was really good Georgia added a good spin!
Something I really liked about gossip girl is that Blaire wasn't just your stereotypical mean girl and that she opened up about her feelings to Serena and she is also absolutely hilarious
