      Lots of research! Look at shops on like Ruby Lane and Etsy of people you know know their stuff then google to find articles to learn more. Watching videos of like Hudson Vintage and Fleatale finds. And experience. It’s great to learn always something new.

      Karen Leabo I was until I looked through a lot of identified pieces but once you handle a few and know the construction and design style it’s easier. and I guess they didn’t have a lot of information until one of the founders spoke somewhat recently about it and helped identify the pieces

    On the brooch with milk glass (the one that needed cleaning) the open backs behind the milk glass might have been to make the piece lighter...cut down on metal weight.

      @@PrincessCasserole I wonder. You know when I was in 5th grade my Dad took me to a jewelry store, and let me pick a piece for my Mom. Keep in mind my Mom always wore small and silver plain jewelry. But I saw a brooch the size of a 50¢ piece, with all shades of blue! Much to my Dad's horror I picked the rhinestone piece! I don't think she ever wore it...but I'd love to see it now and know what I picked. Somehow it showed what my future jewelry taste was going to be!!!!

    I have a bracelet with matching earrings. Got it from an elderly lady over 20 yrs. ago. She had them for a very long time. I noticed in the bracelet the first stone in from clasp has a slight different cut than the other four. Doesn't look like it was ever replace. Is this a trait that D & E used?

    After I watched this video, I went over to Clad Queen and started watching her #910 video (the first one-there are two). At the 13:21 spot she shows a gold tone clip on earring with clear gem on the edges. I thought it looked pretty cool, but didn’t think of this brand until she turned it over and the clip has the scalloped edge with three holes. Could it be this brand? It seems pretty plain compared to your pieces.

    • @PrincessCasserole

    • @PrincessCasserole
      @PrincessCasserole  Před 6 měsíci

      lol I had to Google to make certain
      A cabochon is a gemstone that has been shaped and polished, as opposed to faceted. The resulting form is usually a convex obverse with a flat reverse.
