    Renal Cell Carcinoma is the most common cancer of the kidney in adult patients. There are many risk factors for getting Renal Cell Carcinoma, including cigarette smoking, hypertension, obesity, multiple episodes of kidney stones, and exposures to chemicals including trichloroethylene. In this lesson, we discuss the signs and symptoms of Renal Cell Carcinoma and why they occur.

    As a survivor of advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma, I can confirm lots of what you said. I have a picture of the tumor, and it was huge by the time it was taken out with a right radical nephrectomy and partial uretecomy (it had invaded the vein). That was five years ago, and I think it has returned. Mine is probably hereditary because my mother had it. She didn't know, though, until she fell in her 80s and a scan showed it was there and had spread.

    Thank You! My husband has a 2cm tumor on lower right pole. He is overweight. His doctor say it's 50/50 chance it's cancer. Well duh. Said my husband needs loose weight can't do a biopsy. The doctor is overloaded with patients. Definitely getting a second opinion. As this is my husband's right!!
