Hey Dexter, maybe try looking into a 12 volt battery, my father use to use them to run our fish oxygen pumps when we camped. Maybe you can use incase of emergencies.

@@DextersWorld try to get a solar back up power supply. It's little expensive to start up . But will save you some money in long run . It will keep power on for your home and fish . Depending your battery back up. Also can install a natural gas backup generator that will switch on soon as your power goes out . Both options are kind of expensive. But the help/convenience will out way the cost in the long run .. I have solar backup power for my ponds and natural gas backup generator for my home

I realy like this video sir. You also opend my mind about this catfish farming,chicken,ostrich,ducks,fish and i have all this things on my farm but never realy saw the potential to it bit now ots going good and started to farm with them because they were just on the farm and was not brining any income. So it developed into a passion and started earning a income with all this animals that i had that was here for years but never mulitpied. And now i have this quail that is also doing good and multipling. I have alm this and never saw the potential until i saw your videos. I have cat fish here but never saw it as a food sorce and a sorce of income but i will now take on the next project and start with the catfish si thank you sir for that👍💪🏻🇿🇦

Dexter. Please consider buying a generator (petrol or diesel) which can be used during power blackouts. You can then avoid or minimize having to transfer all fish to your pet shop. Your pet shop could also do with an emergency generator unit.

You mentioned not needing to use the nutrient solution anymore. However boron is an element you need when growing vegetation of any kind. It will not be produced naturally in the aquaponic system, it must be added in solution. Hope this helps :)
He is talking only to that setup in his catfish pond. Water spinach simply grow in that setup. But other crops wont grow the same.

You need a small electric generator and/or a solar electric pump system. Also one made from an old bicycle.

Maybe you can replace air pumps with plain water pumps plus a venturi air suction effect, would be cheaper and can have two or three to avoid malfunction. solar power could help if electricity cuts off.

If I remember correctly, Dexter said his friend took over the rabbit business (or possibly partnered with him? Not sure.) But the rabbit living quarters was relocated to his friend’s place, as they found (due to pests like mites and lice,) that it was not good for his rabbits to be living close to so many bird species. Maybe ectoparasites are very easy to pass back and forth between them?
