  • Highlights of Dmitri Sokolov (#98) playing for the OHL's Sudbury Wolves.
Dmitri Sokolov is a prospect eligible to be selected at the upcoming 2016 NHL Entry Draft, ranked #129 (NA Skaters) by NHL Central Scouting.

Sokolov came into this year with high expectations, as many scouts projected him as a potential first round pick. However, Sokolov suffered through a disappointing first season in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves, and his draft ranking has fallen dramatically as a result. Sokolov is a winger with a laser shot, great hands, and great scorer's instincts, with a big frame at 6'1" 205 lbs. Despite his natural gifts, Sokolov was criticized at various points throughout the season for his skating, his effort level, his defensive game, and for being apparently out of shape. It was later revealed after the season ended that Sokolov had played through much of it with a shoulder that would repeatedly dislocate, forcing Sudbury's trainers, and often Sokolov himself, to pop it back into place. Sokolov had surgery on his shoulder after the season ended to correct this problem. It will be interesting to see what a healthy, in-shape, and motivated Sokolov could accomplish in his sophomore OHL Season.
This highlight package contains all of Sokolov's goals that were publicly available on the Ontario Hockey League's website. The clips are presented chronologically, in the order they occurred during the season.
The following four goals are missing due to unavailable footage:

Hopefully he can overcome his bad habits. But based on his skills, I'm glad they selected him.

+Ismail Hurre Our version of Tarasenko? Oh man did you get me excited! Come to think of it, he shoots the puck very much like him!

He looks to have great hands and a rocket of a shot, but damn he looks slow and a bit lazy out there. His lack of speed and drive don't translate well to the NHL. It's going to be up to him and how hard he wants to work. He's got the tough part down--skill.

Wildfan1984 actually Our version of Teresenko looks like The 19 year Kaprisov who is currently the captain of team Russia @WJC. Kid played only two games and has 4G and 3A for 7pts. He also has 15G in just 30 games back in KHL Russian league. That is the second best, better than even Teresenko.
It is good to be a Wild fan lol
