- Having enjoyed the Helinox Chair One for almost nine years , I have also now purchased the Chair Zero, primarily for canoe camping trips that require carries, or portages. It results in a weight savings of at least one pound. I have been really impressed with the durability of my original Chair one, so it was easy to select the Chair Zero for a lighter option. Also I took the suggestion from Justin from " Its Good In The Woods " and made a base for my chairs , but I used some Tyvek, I think it will be a great choice ! Time will tell. Thanks for watching !

👍 nice. Every pound makes a difference when we’re getting a little older!
Yes sir, well said ! Thanks
Great little chairs. I have 3 of them. I keep one on my motorcycle strapped down on the luggage rack. If i get tired on a long ride, i can just quickly and easily pop it up and have a rest.
Perfect !
Excellent overview! Just seeing this now per your recommendation and agree that this is a great idea to use Tyvek! Now following!
Thanks man !
Hiya buddy. I've often contemplated buying one of these great chairs but could never justify the cost. I've had one on my Amazon wish list now for about 3 yrs. One of these days maybe ... BTW love the hack. Brilliant idea. ATB, Des
Thanks Craig as always another great video! Yup I’m going to get that chair!
Appreciated my friend!
Thanks my friend ! Much appreciated. This thing is wicked light ! Best wishes, be well !
A great modification! Absolutely worth the effort. It is a chair changer!!!
You betcha ! 😄
“Tyvek anti-sink thing” better get that trademarked! I love my Helinox chair. I think I’m going to try and make an anti-sink thing as well. Thanks for sharing
LOL ! You betcha ! Give it a try man ! Thank you for stopping by!
I have used an on the ground chair kit for years. Crazy Creek chair from my home town. I have noticed that as I get older it's rough on my hips and I think your chair may be a more comfortable idea. Thanks!
Sure is tough to beat a good piece of gear that's held up for so long. That Tyvek chair base was ingenious by the way man! Definitely gonna have to make me one of those. Thanks for including the tutorial man! Peace.....
Thanks John, I can’t take credit for it,but yes it’s fairly simple to make. And you could make it for any chair. I first saw the idea from my buddy Justin from “ Its Good In The Woods”
@@MeetMeOutside You're more than welcome brother. Definitely gonna have to check out Justin's channel. I did end up throwing one of these together over the weekend for my Trekology chair... works awesome man. Thanks again.
@@IntenseAngler Your welcome my friend.👍
I just picked up a Trekology sand cover on Amazon . It is the similar to the pad you made. It was about $14.00 . It works well and keeps my chair from sinking. I found it easier to buy it then make it...lol You did a good job on yours. Good luck on your next trip. Looking forward to seeing the video.
Sounds good ! Thank you !
That one you have doesn’t fit the chair zero FYI
I’ve been catching up on your videos. You never disappoint.
@@denniskuenze659 Thank you very much ! I appreciate the support !
The Zero is where it’s at for the backpack or the portage pack! We made it from double portaging to single portaging with exactly the kind of swap outs you’re talking about and our teenager is much happier on trips now that we don’t double portage anymore. The other big change was trimming the kitchen kit and doing a lot more dehydration.
Absolutely ! Plus as we get older, it just makes sense . Thanks for stopping by and I hope your autumn season goes well ! Cheers
@@MeetMeOutside also I use small wiggle balls with a piece cut out to stop the feet from sinking works well and very light weight
@@MamasBasecamp Yes that works ! 👍
Nice chair, the new one looks slightly shorter than the older one, thus the reason it's lighter I suppose. Nice video as always my friend.
Thanks my friend!
Yankee Ingenuity!
You betcha !
