- Well, it's taken a long time to get this one out, but here we are. The XC is inching closer and closer to the finish line which is a pretty big relief. There are also a few other odds and ends in this video, so I hope you enjoy!
HI Peter sorry to hear about your relationship break down, a lost relationship can be akin to the passing of a dear friend, please take the time to mourn and grieve as you need. Look after yourself and the kids.
Keep your chin up Peter. All the best to you and the kids.
Its her loss! They dont come any more honest and decent than you! Just continue to do what makes you happy. We all adore and love everything you do.
It's mine too...
@@PeterAndersons the only time i got to see your ex was when you took her out to lunch in your newly renovated sigma. You worked very hard doing that car up and only negative comments came from her mouth. Most wives or partners would show appreciation and pride in their partners talents and abilities. Without knowing the ins and outs of your relationship...she has another partner and you dont. That says alot about how deeply concerned she was at resolving or trying to fix whatever was the problem. Sorry but i have little time for those who give up so easily.
So sorry to hear Peter, we love you!
Peter. Sorry to hear your news. I've been there. Chin up, stay strong. We behind you buddy 👍
Been watching since 2012 Peter, sad news about you and Suzie. Thinking of you and the family at this time.
Oh man, I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself Peter. We really appreciate your kindness in showing us all these cars over the years. Take all the time you need and stay positive. Surround yourself with good mates if you can.
I think you need to know that we are here for you as you have been here for us. Your a part of our lives and are here for you Pete!
Such a kind thing to say, cheers.
Its sad to hear that you and the family are having it tough at the moment, I hope you and the kids get through it regardless of whats happening
Sorry to hear about your family troubles and medical issues, Peter. Wisdom teeth are bastards, I have all four for now... it's going to be interesting how that turns out. You are an admirable bloke, not only for dealing with these things in your life the way you do, but the way you find the time and energy to document and share your progress and projects with us all. Not only that, but also the fact that you can confide in your viewers about your troubles and difficulties. I always look forward to seeing your videos, and aspire to be very much like yourself as I progress into my adult life. You are a big part of the lives of many people, I hope you realise that. I could only wish to have had a teacher like you while I was in high school, your students are extremely privileged. Try to keep thinking in a positive manner and remember we are all with you through the ups, downs and in-betweens. Wishing you all the best with what is going on, and hopefully you have some success with the council and your garage extension proposition. Etheridge Ford, mustn't be too far away from Jeff Wignall Ford, which is where my EB II was sold new (before I was born!)
Thanks so much Charlie, what a wonderful sentiment indeed! Cheers.
Peter I Wish You All The Best, Sorry To Here About Broken Relationship Hope Things Turn Around Your Good Man And Great Teacher Thanks.
Peter I’m so sorry to hear about your breakup. I had to rewind to make sure I was hearing correctly. It’s a tough trying thing. Just keep your head up pal, it does get easier as any man who has been through this will tell you. Thoughts for you mate.
Very true. Definitely gets better.
Loved the little story about the Ford badge. My wife came home with the same badge from a garage sale. I stuck it on the wall in front of my very tidy, low mileage low owner XT Falcon. When it stuck to the wall like s..t to blanket, I realized mixing the new with the old.
I know what you're going through, Peter, but it could be worse, at least you've still got _most_ of your family around you. My last one took the kids with her and emptied the house when I was at work, to boot. Getting old alone isn't fun! Good luck.
Oh Peter, I'm so sorry to hear about the break up, look after yourself and the kids, take as much time as you need mate, you are a honest and decent Father, the cars and us lot will be patiently waiting.
Mate, so sorry to hear you and the kids going through it. Can't imagine how you find the energy to produce content with everything that's going on but I know many are greatful for it. Not sure how I can offer you support beyond reminding you that this too shall pass. All the best. Sincerely.
So sorry to hear about your relationship breakdown mate, my best wishes to you Pete. let the healing begin.
Far out, Pete. Just watching the vid now. Sorry to hear about you and your Mrs breaking up . A very close friend of mine lost his Mrs to liver cancer a month ago and he and his 3 daughters have had all sorts of health issues from the stress. I'm trying my best to be in his corner right now. The channel is secondary to your family mate and if you need a break don't hesistate. Your kids need you. We'll all be waiting for you when you get the time.
Best wishes PA. Love your work.
Love your work on these Fords. There is light at the end of the tunnel and good on you for thinking about your kids.
Please do not stop making these videos; I absolutely love these videos and the thoroughness you display
Hey Peter, been watching your vids for years and finally got me an ed v8 wagon to restore, your an inspiration to many and watching your XW videos as you published kept me chugging through my separation as odd as it sounds. Things work out in the long run and here in nz kiwi blokes learning to talk remember it’s ok to be not ok
Hey Pete - sorry to hear about you and Suzie - chin up champ - you are an inspiration to a lot of us back yard mechanics - thanks to your good self, i have been able to tackle restoring my ZG Fairlane - good luck for the future and look after yourself - look forward to watching you again soon.....
Oh Pete so sorry to hear about your family circumstances. I’m sure you and the kids will get through this, you’re a great dad.
All the best mate 👍🏻
So very sorry to hear about your personal circumstances, it is hard, keeping yourself busy doing the things you enjoy will help, I enjoy all your videos and appreciate time you put into them. look after yourself also Pete, keep up the good work 👍
I'm really sorry to hear about your breakup. Take the time you need for you and the kids to sort your self's out, A lot of us can all empathise with what you must be going through and we will be here for you If you when your ready to return. Sorry I missed the last couple of live streams, things have been a bit busy work wise here recently and I couldn't get the time to watch.
Hey Peter I Hope you are feeling the support from everyone here, you have shared so much knowledge ! Cheers☕️
I am!
Hi Peter. Keep up the good eork
This covid has been a real ass. With the on again off again lockdown bull it has caused family stress beyond what is normal. Have a break with the kids on the regular. Check out DIY gang. Hes a full on you tuber but had to pull back and balance his kids etc time with tubing. Anyways much love and dont think you are letting us down if u have a well deserved break, we can wait. More cruising videos would be a treat. ♡♡♡
Sorry to hear about your situation at home Pete. Keep your chin up. Things will get better over time and please keep the vids coming.
Hey Peter, glad to see an update on the XC but more importantly sorry to here about your relationship situation, this must be a terrible time for you. Please Please Please take some time out for yourself so you can figure out where you need to go to from here. Blokes our age aren't used to seeking or accepting help, but I think you really need to just pause for a bit & take care of your mental health right now. I can't imagine what you are going through at the moment But I feel for you. Iv'e been watching your videos the past 5 years or so & they have been quite informative when it comes to the cars but you have also shown us a bit of your family life as well. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us Pete but please take care of yourself & seek help if you can.
Best wishes to you Peter, with all that's happened recently.
The videos are really interesting, your skills/knowledge and presentation are top notch. That new fan is a monster...
Hey Pete, sorry to hear about the breakdown of your relationship. Hope you're well! If you want to chat about the council laws in regards to extending the garage, happy to tell you everything I've learnt recently in regards to local laws.
Great content Peter - Thoroughly enjoy each an every upload. I learn a great deal from your work, and in all honesty, your attention to detail inspires me to do better quality work on my cars (which I might add, has made a huge difference!).
Just know, that your uploads do make a difference for many of us. Look forward to every YT notification. Take care of yourself. May "tinkering" in the shed offer you time to reflect, heal and grow.
Many thanks!
Sorry your going through a rough patch mate, take the time you need. Thoughts are with you mate, it will get easier. Look forward to the eventual garage extention!
Sorry to hear about your relationship, it's happened to me years ago, now me and my HZ Premier have a great cruising time and well maintained ))
Hi Pete
Sorry to hear about your relationship breakdown
Never an easy time sadly
Look after yourself and your kids
Love your video as always
Had an XC GS Van many moons ago 4.1 4spd
But these days I tinker with British Wolseleys
Cheers from Tassie
Shame to hear about you and the mrs. Just look after you and the kids, and we’ll be here when you’re ready to get back into it. So will the cars.
Great to see an update on the Fairmont Peter. Really enjoy your videos.
Looking great Peter!! Hope things settle down soon bud.
Peace and love my friend!
Great work Pete! Take care and chin up.
Good to see you starting to work on the cars again, i run out of puff some times and other things certainly take priority over car builds.
I remind myself how grateful i am to still be able to work on my cars and enjoy them, chin up mate.
Thanks.
Great update mate, and having been through similar lately, take all the time you need - don’t apologise
The XC boot is looking pretty good. Nice work. It's gonna be awesome to see it on the road.
Fingers crossed!
Sorry to hear mate about the fam - always enjoy your vids and the great content
Thanks so much for this vid Pete. We all appreciate the time and effort you put in. All the best to you and your family 😘
Could there be an LC in the works perhaps? Yessss!!!!!
Hi Peter . I appreciate your work, especially the XC rebuild. One day I'll finish my '78 ZH Marquis, only been 20 yrs since I took her off the road... so your updates remind me of just how much I have forgotten about all the bits and bobs of my ZH. I have been totally un organised in terms of storage and identification of parts and thus am facing a "OMG where do I restart from" state.
Anyway my only complaint with this video is you not placing a "Contains Graphic Terrifying Verbal Imagery!" warning before sharing your dentist experience....
Thank you again for all your efforts and wish you and yours all the best...
XC is looking awesome 👍👍
Good on you Pete. Look out for yourself Mate.
All the best make keep on keeping on 👍🏽
The xc is coming along nicely Peter, keep up the great work👍
Thanks mate, it's been a bit of a journey to be honest - much more difficult than the old XW. Cheers and take care Matt!
Great video as usual. Sorry to hear about the news.
Best wishes Peter, look after yourself.
This is just getting better this car. Just sitting there.
All the best Peter
Terrible news about you break up. Sadly it happens to about half of us. During this time the most important legacy is to behave with dignity and respect, and be the role model for you children . ( that you already are) . Good luck . Good friends are also very important. You will be fine.
G'day Peter, I just recently had the same problem in regard to sizing the rivets into drilled holes. (I too only had metric sized drills). A 1/8" drill bit is 3.175mm which is a #30 size rivet drill.
Wishing you and your family all the best.
Yes I have a 1/8"... At almost 3.2mm it still wouldn't go through that either. Cheers and thanks!
.
Ooooohhhh….teeth. Yuk.
Sorry - just re-watched the video and am sad about your relationship. As many others have said, you are a kind and good person and you will come through this.
The Falcon looks great
That XC is looking great, at least the rear end is. I've always been one for a nice rear end... 🤭
I want one badly, but need to find an ultra-cheepy I don't think that breed exists...
great xc mate.
I think on the XD paint it needs a good going over with a clay bar. After it’s washed and dried if you run your hand over the paint and it’s not smooth but gritty, it definitely needs a clay bar.
yes but there's crowsfooting, so it's knackered, cheers.
Crikey Peter, sorry to hear that. I hope us video consumers haven't contributed in any way to this.
Australian plates are so goddamn awesome.
Sorry to hear this Pete, could give you all the cliches.... Time etc. Take care.
Yes I guess, but what else can you say with that type of news/ Cliches are cool in those circumstances haha, cheers.
You've briefly touched on the issue in the live feeds, I'm so sorry about the family situation Peter. I've been there and everyone suffers through these things in a different way. I hope Rosie's okay too. Maybe a trip to pick-a-part for another rock might help. 😉
As for motivation, yeh, I've been going through that of late too, my big furry fella is in a bad way.
Anyway, some years ago, a friend was working on an old Merc and had to re-silver the headlights.
I suggested why not just chrome them ?
He was horrified. I mean, would it be that bad if they were chromed instead of silvered ?
I hope he's okay Harvey, fingers crossed.
Peter, I am terribly sorry about your personal situation. I can't believe anyone could treat you this way. A more Genuine, decent fella you couldn't be. I know you are going through hardship mate, but give it some time and things will get better I'm sure. Keep your chin up mate.
Can I just ask where can we purchase those rubber ends for the sun visors ?? They are like unicorns. Do they make reproductions ?
Hi Peter, I just bought a washing machine motor to do the same idea, battery charger using an alternator high current fast charge, especially when a battery is dead flat and my modern smart charger won't start cause the battery is too flat
I never thought of that... so an electric motor spinning a self regulated alternator - that's a cool battery charger!
brutal news, sorry to hear it, you have 20k people wishing you well. God bless
Thanks and yes, I drove past it and had to stop and disassemble it to squeeze it to the back of the little Starlie!
That fan will cool down the neighborhood or put a plane in the air, the metal grate just needs sent to the platers
...and I'll do that! I have to see them with some other stuff shortly. I looked at it and although it will look rubbish in zinc, it will offer it some additional rust protection.
Take Care. I have been watching for a few years. Thanks. What are those birds that are squawking all of the time? I have gotten used to them but wonder what sort they are?
He gets those damn Corellas around his place. I know that sound. They are annoying af and like cockatoos, think they own the place.
They're terrible and they come in large flocks and decimate the large seeds on the Plain Trees, leaving a massive mess!
308 HJ Carb on XC GXL? will it fit
yes with it modded mate.
⏰☝☝☝
Mate, sorry about the domestics. Look after yourself and the kids.. pace yourself
Also, check the lower arm on fan, the oscillation gearing on the fan has a locked position as well as another to get the fan to track back and forth. The default delivery is for the fan to be locked.. if it is then undo the knurled knob, and screw it and the pivot arm into the outer hole on the oscillation gear..
you doing alot atm no harm to ask for help cleaning up
i love the hair, i been growin mine 4 years, grow a beard, be a hippy like me LOL (get fat)
Haha, yes everyone told me to cut it off... then I forgot...
Spending massive amounts of time on hobbies can definitely cause problems, women usually arent keen on it.
True, but there's a lot more to it.
What happened to Suzie ?
7:00
For god's sake, watch the video, _with your ears open_ .
She changed her name to Walter - Walter the Bolter
Drama queen lol
Sorry to say you have a case of single mans disease unusual in your situation. But you have some symptoms time lapse hair talking for hours at a time to make up for loneliness and a few other things we will not touch on .From a single lonely man ps I am not gay
Haha... no mate, way out there... loneliness has never been an issue and anyone who knows me also knows I talk for hours at a time. The hair was a covid thing - once lockdown was over, everyone told me to cut it, so I didn't. Cheers.
@@PeterAndersons It creeps on you till it is to late like Alziemers
Thanks for the update champ
