CP's 'Empress' no. 2816 is on a tour of the C.U.M. countries in celebration of the dreadful KCS merger. So far, the tour this 4-6-4 Hudson has been on has been CHAOTIC to say the least...

Hey even if things did went sour in Mexico, at least it was still enjoyable seeing 2816 back in action after a long silence.
Even with all these faults, seeing 2816 on the mainline was still awesome to see. Mexico on the other hand was just terrible and sad and I feel bad for the lady and her family. I hope the family of the lady that got hit are doing well and I am sorry for their loss. 🙏❤️

You put it pretty well. And THANK YOU for not even putting a bit of that video in, everyone else did and I just didn’t want to see that. And you are very correct about people in the states able to be just as bad. I yelled at tons of people for standing in the tracks while UP 4014 was out and about. Even in one of my videos of it after yelling at a guy to get off the tracks, I said “We don’t need another 844 incident” because it’s true. We really didn’t need for that to happen again. It’s awful that it did and just not funny. I’ll never understand some people wanting to get a picture of the train from on the tracks, it’s just too dangerous, and it just makes things worse for everyone. Great video on the incidents man.

I wasn’t worrying too much about when 2816 was gonna head to Mexico at the time, until I started seeing those clips everywhere...
Why is it that Operation Lifesaver has never been done there, or anything enforcement of rail safety in general? Because it’s only gonna get worse if they continue to do nothing. Ignorance exists regardless of where you are in the world, and unfortunately somebody lost a life from being too close to the tracks.
My thoughts are kinda all over the place, and I’m very disappointed in everyone who joked about or memed that video clip. It’s disrespectful, insensitive and unacceptable on every level. I hope the incidents that occurred during the tour serve as a cautionary lesson on what not to do around moving trains like that, to stay a safe distance from the tracks and overall just have some common sense. I’m terribly sorry for that family’s loss too.
Despite everything that happened, I’m happy 2816’s tour brought many of us together to see it run. Tens to hundreds of videos of it in action with the F units and even the newly painted CPKC 9375. Lastly, I like the gaming commentary style here and I watched on 1.5 speed.

Hey I think History In The Dark actually did a decent job. I like the fact that his videos aren't polished. I mean he does call himself Darkness the Curse, so yes his videos will be not for everyone, and his humor is well..dark. I also believe that his subpar audio adds to the feel of his videos. Hell I enjoy your channel as well for different reasons. Now I just have to wait for Amtrak365 and Plainly Difficult to do videos on the Empress.

See i think the jokes were made mainly because we know all about rail safety and see a lot of people in Mexico as idiots for fucking with a train (doesn’t make it less right I feel bad about the jokes I made about it) but in Mexico where there’s little to no safety videos or security around the mainline this was somewhat of a wake up call for both cpkc management and Mexicans as a whole as after that incident there was a lot less cases of bs as it was roaming around. I hate to say it but I think with cpkc using the 70acu to get it the hell out of there 2816 won’t be visiting Mexico any time soon.
