@@otterheart3844 that’s why you need a moisturizer she suggested the la roche posay double moisturizer , I also have dry skin ... use gentle cleanser so that it won’t get too much dryness
So true! There is no way my skin can tolerate adapelene or any type of prescription retinoid because it is so extremely drying. Same goes for azelaic acid. Having very dry skin that is acne prone is a battle that seems impossible to win 😢

Thank you very much for all the advice you're providing. I always struggled with my skincare - at the age of almost 40, I was struggling with finding suitable skincare that would also target the aging, instead of still using products I started using in my teenage years.
My saving grace was recently discovered cleanser from Community Sixty-Six - detoxifying AHA/BHA cleanser, which has 6% glycolic acid and 2% salicylic acid. At $16 price point it's very affordable and I'm delighted that one of the beauty vloggers mentioned it, otherwise I would've never discovered this brand!
I also use their day cream with niacinamide and azelaic acid. For the night routine, I use L'Oreal Revitalift Laser with retinol and niacinamide. Weirdly, found that its gentle scent helps me wind down in the evening.
I know I sound like walking ad right now, but for the last 3 years I was using expensive personalised routine and lost all hope to find more affordable options, and if this is helpful to anyone - I hope your skin routine will be easier to build than mine was over the years!

The last point is SUPER important-clean up your diet and lifestyle! After making mistakes in my 20's with bad food and bad makeup (and too much of both), I can say these shifts in choices have significantly paved my way to a healthy fresh look and feeling in my 30's! 💎
Hi Dr. Locke....I get the occasional pimple here and there and I'm oily with larger visible pores with filaments. Would you recommend this routine or would I need to add something else to help clear/clean the filaments?

I have pretty bad cystic acne and dermalmd the only thing I’ve found that not only keeps them away but has anti aging properties as well. I do still get a small break out from time to time but much smaller and disappears after a couple days, mainly when I’ve eaten junk food.

Hi Doc my face is VERY acne prone and anything that will cause me to break out will happen FAST. I have hyperpigmentation and I’m really looking for a product that won’t break me out and help me with my hyperpigmentation. Could you recommend any brands PLEASE. I’m from UAE and la roch posay double repair is not available in our pharmacies I bought online however and costed a alot along with shipment fees I found cetaphil moisturizing lotion it’s fragrance free no hyaluronica acid acid and contains niacinimide which is perfect to apply over my adaplene and I’m really loving it but it’s very emollient good for night time for morning i apply wet n wild backchiol serum I found it on my local shopper again lot of options you recommend are not available and i love neautrogena hydro boost gel cream it is expensive here but the best light weight hydrating cream in the morning and under makeup

If you’re not using a moisturizer with vitamin c in it should we layer a seperate vitamin c in the morning?
You apply your vit c serum first, moisturizer next and then sunscreen or skip the moisturizer if your sunscreen is moisturizing enough for you since they tend to have a lot of the same ingredients found in moisturizers.
Hi I am 56 and have started having issues with my skin. I have sensitive and combination skin. I’ve been breaking out mainly on my TZone. I was looking for solutions and came across your video.
