Music video by George Strait performing The Seashores Of Old Mexico. (C) 2006 MCA Nashville, a Division of UMG Recordings, Inc. - Hudba
George strait has always had a close bond with the Mexican people. They love him back just as much. He even performs with mariachi sometimes and sings in Spanish! Peace and love to all :-)
+It'sSimpleReally one of his nieces is married to a mexican american, who happens to be a cousin of mine.
Levi 501 bullshit
How you know that wow you really knew him before he became big wow
BizWiz we love George Strait.. que viva Mr.Strait
George straight, or Jorgito as we in the south like to call him, is the best kind of people
I'm American Mexican and let me tell you...George is straight invited to the carne asada. We have a great deal of respect for this man. I'm lucky to have lived in a time when this life had George Straight in it.
Sincerely Mexicans
@Susansmith-456 hello
@Susansmith-456 Ca.
I'm human, born of the Universe and made of stardust like all other humans on this planet, and let me tell you...I'd go check out a George Strait concert any time.
Eu também,,,, sou Brasileiro e sou grato por ter nascido e vivido na mesma época de George Strait
I'm Chinese American. George is invited to Peking duck on me, anytime.
This song is my fantasy. When ever I get frustrated with my job, I tell people that I’m moving to the Mexican coast, buying a boat, and spend the rest of my days taking rich tourists deep sea fishing.
Do it man. I did and it was the best thing I've done so far in my life. Life is awesome in Mexico.
This song is an excellent “get away”.
Exactly
good fantasy amigo....dreams could come true, don't give up
Hilarious
Written by Merle, sung by George. That is 100% country music perfection.
😂❤
Nuff said
and sang better by hank snow just sayin
I didn't know that! No wonder I love this song so much, Merle is my FAVORITE
Wow I didn't know that..Assume!
There's not a DARN thing wrong with this video.
George is sitting back reminiscing on the twists and turns that the errors of youth
Can bring on.
Fortunately in the end it worked out just fine.
A man made some mistakes, stayed strong and changed his life for the better and is now telling a story reflecting with a sentimental grin how it came out alright.
Well done video in my view.
Sing it George!
Curtis Ostriker You got it all right Curtis
Great synopsis of the video/song! Couldn't have said it better myself!
Clint black
Don't forget to thank Merle for writing it.
Curtis Ostriker i do have to say there is one thing wrong, and thats because they used a ford, and not a chevy. See thats why George was broke down on the side of the road
I don't know why sometimes Americans and Mexicans fight, we can be singing and dancing together instead as a humanity we are.
@My Nameis hahaha yesss
That could and should be said about all of us humans on this blue ball called Earth!
Its not the Peoples of each country: its BOTH GOVERNMENTS😡
Amen
Country musicians could be a bridge between the cultures of the United States and Mexico. Their music has roots on both sides, and thousands of stories involving both nations can be written and sung.
And the children are so beautiful when the families get all blended up...God Bless Mexico.
Another star added to your crown. You never cease to amaze me. I am always learning something new about you. You certainly a remarkable man!!!! So many accomplishments!!!!
Very true
"Seashores of Mexico" is a beautiful love story appropriate in 2005. I was very mesmerized by the video as well as millions of King George Harvey Strait's Fans. The music kept me company each day of the week that I drove to work. Thank you for the memories.

Merle Haggard is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Amazingly intense storytelling, incredible handling of words.
the hag and david allen coe...
Yes, indeed....
Have you seen the chord structure to this song? It's all over the place, and it still fits together perfectly! The man was a master!
Oh, sure! And not to forget, it's so catchy even without a refrain!
Not many know this, but Merle probably got his gift of phrasing from his mother.....if you listen to Old Rugged Cross on his gospel album, he recites some words his mother had written in her Bible.....absolutely beautiful.
born in Mexico: half raised down there. half raised here; speaking both languages and adopted both cultures; love the sound of the Mexican accordion as mush as I love country music; also Mexican hand made tortillas, as well as BBQ smoked meat.

Darn right. Now let's be honest. What a fine way for a wandering fella to end up. A new start in life with a pretty woman who adores YOU and you her. A nice house near the beach , some good children, friends and not a care in the world other than making each other happy. Way to go Geoge.
Curtis Ostriker Gotta thank Merle first though.
Michael Fielder No problem there soldier. Merle was the very ESSENCE of country music. A strong nod of recognition to Mr.Haggard.

Ironic my wife is from Sonora Mexico 🇲🇽 and this beautiful woman save my life ... I love her truly ... great song from a great country artist.
Does she have any sisters?
George grew in Pearsall outside of San Antonio. In fact he now lives in a mansion in San Anton. He gave a great tribute to Mexican Legend, Vicente Fernandez. King of Mexican Country music when he died. He sang EL REY (The King) in impeccable Spanish. Honor from one king to another.
I have seen his mansion in san antonio. Same neighborhood of spurs coaches and athletes. I do uber so i picked up rider in neighborhood he lives in. His mansion has a helicopter pad. He is so humble.
Hello Rose how are you doing!!
I feel like Anglo-Texans are part Mexican, they can fit in very easily and Mexican Rancheros have the same country spirit of Anglo-Texans . 💪😉 Great song, I love it. Shout out to all Texans. ✌
yea mexican rancheros and white hill billys is the same shit!
Rafael Solano Texas is not the south. It's considered a western state. The culture in Texas is so much different than in Tennessee,Alabama, the Carolinas and Mississippi. Many Texans don't even want anything to do with the south, because of it's racist past and the Klan activity there.
Many Texans are descendants of slave holders as after the War, they left the deep south and went west
I’m from Texas and yes generally we’re considered the south but Texas is Texas. By making the comments about Mexican rancheros and white hillbilly’s shows you know nothing of Texas and it’s culture
Hello World. I never thought I'd be so happy to read fellow Texans comments. We're our own type of Southern thats for sure. We're more about the state flag than the confederate. And in the words of Kevin Fowler. "Yeah I'm a he'll bent, 100% Texan till I die."
This video really speaks to me as I ran away from my troubled youth as well. I was heading for death, Jail or life of regret. I am now living in Bangkok and I know its not Mexico but this is my Mexico and my new life...My freedom.
I loved this song as soon as they released it. no one could have made it as good as George
This is my first time hearing it; love it!
Maybe Randy Travis but Mr Straight made it a hit.
I am a metalhead but this is a killer song. Love it. Powerful, like Craig Morgan's Almost Home

wow im a life long George fan and you just taught me something i didnt know lol i didnt know merle and willie did this song first.
The Hag did this song as a solo version way back on a 1974 album, several years before George Strait released his debut album, and also many years prior to the duet album (of the same name) with Willie Nelson.
Oh, over there still lives the greatest love of my life

One night had just came home from a date and had not really enjoyed the evening. Well I had got all cleaned up for bed. And decided to turn on what was country music television. And this came on it really ended my night on a very nice note. Then I know why I liked this song so much because I found later who wrote it. One of my other favorite artists Merle hanggerd. Thank you George for singing this and thank you Merle for writing this song. Oh if anyone wants to here Merle hanggerd version you will enjoy it very much.

@@georgestrait8649 thank you for the kind words. Have always enjoyed your music. Nowadays there is not the country music I grew up on .thankfully we still have you and dolly pardon and Wille Nelson. And Toby Keith to still know real country. Have always wanted to tell you my late wife and I always like your movie. Pure country. There was such a good message in that movie. And the actress that played you aunt was really a good fit and it was nice to see Rory Calhoun as the father of that wonderful actress that played your future wife . I like her as well .and it was such a good movie. Thank you for doing it.
@@georgestrait8649 I want to thank you for the music you still do it's nice to hear real country not that I am criticizing some of the other younger singers. But there is a lot of us in our 50"s and 60"s that grew up listening to a mix of 40"s to 70"s County and it was what a lot of our parents and other relatives listen to so there is an appreciation for traditional County. And nowadays we have lost so many of the County artists we grew up listening to and there is just a few that still do traditional County. And I want to thank you very much for keeping it alive sincerely David Gleason
Besides George Strait being my favorite country singer alive, I love the fact that he ads his personal touch of humor to some of his songs.
He evokes with love a non redeemable, long gone time, the notion of the "Old Mexico". The " Old Mexico" is a concept that became history....I'm sorry I never knew neither the old nor the new Mexico....Or probably not so sorry about not knowing the new Mexico...I'm so sorry about the Hell media shows us at the US borders...It looks like the US is under attack and I don't understand why no selective, legal immigration policy can be implemented. If thoroughly controlled by the Homeland Security, immigration can benefit to a country...Looks like things got out of control all over the world. Please keep the US safe. It's a humongous task but a "must" nowadays. God bless!
Old Mexico is alive, it is not a place, it is the hearts of the people. Lived in both and you cant judge the whole because of cartels. They are having their roaring 20`s with crime as America did with the Mafia back in the 20`s and 30`s. Just how the world turns when supply and demand is calling.
I love this song. I think most people have thought about or dreamed of disappearing somewhere like the seashore of old Mexico.

I left out of Tucson with no destination in mind
I was runnin' from trouble and the jail-term the judge had in mind
And the border meant freedom, a new life, romance
And that's why I thought I should go
And start my life over on the seashores of old Mexico.
My first night in Juarez I lost all the money I had
One bad senorita made use of one innocent lad
But I must keep on runnin', it's too late to turn back
I'm wanted in Tucson I'm told
And things will blow over on the seashores of old Mexico.
Two Mexican farmers and route to a town I can't say
Let me ride on the back of a flatbed half-loaded with hay
Down through Durango, Palima, Palmira then into Manzanillo
Where I slept in the sunshine on the seashores of old Mexico.
++++++++++++++++++++++
After one long siesta I came wide awake in the night
I was startled by someone who shadowed the pale moonlight
My new-found companion,
One young senorita who offered a broken hello
To the gringo she found on the seashores of old Mexico.
She spoke of Sonora and swore that She'd never return
For her Mexican husband, She really had no great concern
'Cause she loved the gringo, my red hair and lingo
That's all I needed to know
Yeah, I found what I needed on the seashores of old Mexico.
Yeah, she loved the gringo, my red hair and lingo
That's all I needed to know, ha, ha.
Yeah, I found what I needed on the seashores of old Mexico.

I agree whole heartedly McArio......I have lived in South Texas all of my life and I have always admired the Mexican culture....the people of Mexico are wonderful people. It's just ignorance, plain and simple, so glad you got a chance to hear this song. Merle said it wasn't a true story, but he had a friend who did run for the police and headed down to Mexico....Merle just took it from there,,,,,he just had a sense of everything and knew exactly how to phrase it.

Hey Talia, thank you for loving my musical aspirations and never giving up on my music. Have you had the opportunity to attend any of my concerts before?
Love that scene at the end. His mate calling out his bullshit like that is lovely to see. The kind of thing anyone should do for a mate, tell them when they're talking shit!!
Sausage any one lol
Dang he still is one heck of a fine looking Man and a Fabulous Singer. Loved him in the movie Pure Country and The Song he sang Cross my Heart.
Hello there how are you doing today?🌹💐
I've always loved listening more to a story like this than 95% of everything else on the radio
Just great! Who cares if it's not real? Just for a few minutes I can relax and go with it. My blood pressure went down 10 points. Love George Strait, much talent! I've never met him, but I bet he would just be a "regular guy", not a born rich brat. I like this more each time I hear it!
I seen George in Las Vegas last year and remember sitting in VIP next to a Hispanic couple that barely spoke english but knew every George's song.. ❤
tihng I like best about George is that you can sing along as soon as you've heard the song once. He makes them so memorable
Charming , Romantic,GEORGE,,, would love to see Mexico...
