You forgot about getting the ghoul mask and looting all the shops in tenpennytower while the feral ghouls kill everyone.
In all these years I never thought to loot the shops. That’s such a no brainer . Wow.
This is such a large core memory of middle school in general, and specifically very early memories of Fallout 3. This game 10000000% blew my mind as a kid, completely opened up my imagination.
@@rainygamedays5873 I've been replaying that and oblivion the past few weeks. ♥️
Absolute waste of a populated area with good shops
@@Jaryyy993 you still have the shops it's just ran by ghouls
How many people coming back to Fallout 3 for the 6th time after watching the new show? As a kid i never thought this would happen! im glad Todd did good on the show
Just starting my first play-through I stared with 76 in 2019 and have like 2k+ hours then gonna play through new Vegas and 4
@@faderraider7738 thats sick dude. i wish i had the chance to play them again for the first time! ofc graphically coming from 76 to Fallout 3 is different but im telling the games are timeless. Good luck on your travels fellow Wastelander ✊🏻
I’m gonna play through all three. Been a fan of this franchise so long and still can’t get enough. They nailed it with the show.
Currently playing 3 for the first time! Will try to complete 3, Vegas and 4. Tried playing 4 when it came up but stopped half way
just begun 3 for the first time
Your channel is moving up, got recommended this video after watching a few FO3 vids. Great video.
I know it's crazy how many people are supporting me and decided to stick around I'm so grateful for all the positivity on my videos! Thank you so much!
You left out what to do right after your leave the vault with 9 INT. You bee-line to the bottom right corner of the map, avoiding most experience along the way, to grab the INT bobblehead and give you that perfect 10 INT before level 3. Then, at level 4, you take the Educated perk so you'll start getting 23 skill points per level.
I did also say at the very start of the video that if you want 10 in all SPECIAL stats then you should avoid grabbing the special bobbleheads until you take the almost perfect perk and then grab each one for the additional point into each special stat to make them all 10
@@SimplyVaultedthis has nothing to do with what steve said
Where is the bobblehead?

easily one of the best starting guides I have ever seen. I have been playing for years. I am starting an og run tomorrow on my ps3. I finished it on that console multiple times, but never the dlc. So I'm hoping to finally do it.
Literally same
@@noonookinz4560 Thank you so much guys!
I just got done moving and setting up TTW to replay this again and i wanted to say that between you and William Strife's videos literally everything needed is covered. Bless you for the AMAZING starter guide!!!!!!!
Omg I haven't heard that CZcamsr's name in awhile! I used to love his videos! I'm so glad you liked the guide!
Another tip for SPECIAL point assignment. There's perk you can get later on which either gives you +1 ST or +1 PE. So keep this in mind if you want to make some sacrifices.
Keep in mind some perks. Animal Friend/Master Trader (60 Barter) requires CHA 6 (makes Yao Guais non hostile). Better Criticals requires 6 PE and 6 LK. Light Step/Sniper requires 6 PE and 6 AG. Strong Back requires 5 ST and 5 EN. Agility 6 also gives access to Action Boy/Girl and Silent Running (50 sneak).
And realistically a perfect character isn't very useful as by level 30 you'll probably have a single DLC left to do (depends on difficulty). So I'd say feel free to make a specialised build. Perfect characters are typically made after completing the GOTY edition anyway.
Yeah absolutely! I normally just choose intelligence for the additional skill points you can put into your skills per level. For some of the other perks you could absolutely just perhaps take the Intense Training perk to put a single point into a SPECIAL stat. Of course you don't need to make a perfect character, I just personally believe the Almost Perfect perk is a lot better than the Nuclear Anomaly perk and if i'm going to select this perk then I like to get all my SPECIAL stats to 10 just for the perfection run.
I may make specialized build guides in the future for creating certain builds and you can take from this guide whatever you think is helpful. I hope you enjoyed the video regardless!
If you start by putting all points on speech, explosives and repair when you have your GOAT test. All points on speech when you level up coming out of the vault for the first time and go straight to Megaton and fix the pipes and defuse the bomb. This will let you level up to level 3. Put all points on speech to 60 the rest on whatever, Next travel directly north of vault 101 to Big Town and go straight to Bittercup complement her say you have to set yourself apart. The dialog will end. Immediately speak to her again and ask if there isn't anyone in town she hasn't date. Next go directly to Pappy and talk to him about Bittercup you'll have 100% speech check. This will give you EXP but the option stay and you can pick it over and over to level up very fast. From being born to Level 14 doing this takes 2 hours.
That's definitely another option if you also want to level up fast. I guess it depends on how you want to play. I have also done another video showing infinite xp glitch that you can do if you wish to level up to max without having to do much. Thank you for the comment, I hope you enjoyed regardless!
Great video! Havent olayed fallout 3 in long long time and after seeing the show i decided to hop back in but wanted a refresher and this video was great
Thanks for the tips, man!
Also back of the hill of vault 101 theres a mini raider base which also has a little farm nearby, if you want chinese pistols, some melee weapons, a hunting rifle and even a flamethrower at the beggining go to that location, also go to the springvale elementary school before going to megaton, you meet with a good loot
I feel like with the Comprehension perk an INT of 7 is more than enough to get your skills up to 100 especially if you take Almost Perfect and wait to grab the SPECIAL heads until after 30. An INT of +7 seems excessive when you're basically losing out on Better Criticals, Action Boy/Girl, Sniper, Life Giver and/or Silent Running with only 5 in stats other than STR and INT which are all solid perks for a variety of combat builds.
You just got recommended to me! Even though I played this for years, I still learned a few things.
I'm so glad to hear that! I hope you enjoyed and thank you for giving my vid a chance!
Wooooow never knew about the wall hack for the items for your house!
after watching this video all i understoood was that i did everything wrong in this game and i have the worst playthrough in the first 10 min of the game, a new record for me ig
Been playing this game for a long time. Like since freshman year of high school 2011.
I had absolutely no idea about the free house items in the wall. Hell yeah dude.
Yeah a lot of people didn't seem to know that I'm surprised haha!
Just started my 1st play through and this helped a lot! Thanks :)
Hope the playthrough is going well. You could be getting some burnout, but give a lore episode a watch and your interest will be piqued again. Taking a dive into the wasteland after. See what story awaits you next.
Great guide
Thank you so much! Hope you enjoyed!
Haha this is basically a morally corupt playthrough and i love it. Take advantage when you can!
Good. Short. Thank you.
Thank you very much for watching!
Nice vid just starting new game
Thank you! Enjoy your playthrough!
Cool tips dude 👍 I'm only lvl 11 destroying everything with my trusty sledgehammer 😂😂 and it makes it worse that I got my character addicted to drugs and he is even more op lol but ATM I'm just leaving the enclave area where I met the Mr house guy of fallout 3 and it's my 1st playthrough 👍
Thank you I hope you enjoyed. Haha the chems can be quite useful when you need a boost in game such as Buffout for more health, etc I just try not to use them too much, honestly the only aid items I use are Rad-X, RadAway and Stimpaks. Good luck on your playthrough!
Nice !
I completely forgot about the hallowed rock by megaton. I started a new playthrough. This is probably my 10 playthrough since the game came out. I bought this game when circuit city was still in business! Damn I’m getting old .
Thanks, knew all but the house items hidden locker.
Hope you enjoyed regardless, thank you for watching!
@@SimplyVaulted Will do, got platinum on PS3 but feel like playing again.
@@Ollie_NL same here I got the platinum and grew up with the console version. Why not! Boot it up and start a new playthrough!
Bro same been playing this since it came out was like wtf
Good guide salute to You Chris 👍🎇
Haha thank you!
i just blew up megaton... when i returned to it, it was all destroyed and its covered with radiation do i wait untill it all goes away?
So you blow up Megaton at Tenpenny Tower then go back to help the town you just blew up?
*Nice video, i am going to start a new game of starting Mothership zeta at Lv 5. gonna be quite the challenge*
Good Luck man!
I can’t see Burke for some reason
I always go straight to the Citadel, glitch my way in, get the power armor training, then head straight to Operation Anchorage to do the Gary glitch to keep the unbreakable items from the simulation.
The simulation gives you power armor training also if you ever wanted to skip that trip to the citadel!
@Zuzzok lol I can't believe I never realized that 😅 next playthrough imma do that
Thanks.
No worries!
I know im late for this but if i start the game what would the best options to have more EXP points and easy mission before start with the hard one
Smaller quests such as Megaton's Power Of The Atom quest, fixing the water pipes for Walter. Doing a few quests for Moira in the first chapter of the wasteland survival guide such as getting food and aid items from the Super Duper Mart. Mainly just the starter areas tbh
what... no going to rivet city for the Intelligence Bobble Head ? is that needed ?
It's not needed no. I personally don't collect the special bobbleheads until I get the almost perfect perk so all my special stats get to 10 but you don't have to grab it if you don't want to.
@@SimplyVaulted yeah i think it wouldn't be useful for me if i can reach 30 without stats to 10 the i dont much need the lv30 skill. I prefer the early bonus
@@SIDEKICKONCZcams Yeah you don't need to follow every tip in this guide it's there to pick and choose what you wanna take from it!
Is there anything I can do that doesn't make me a psychopath?
Where is this hidden locker in the house cause i don't know what place it is in the house
Within Craterside Supply, enter the store, take the left hand path in the shop where some stairs are and the wall to clip through will be there
Sorry, kinda drunk right now, only half way listening. But just a slight correction. You only need 25 in repair. There's a vault suit in the vault that gives you 5 to repair, it can get you over that threshold. Just a tiny correction
@1:38 my biggest complaint about this game, I have a better small guns skill, and I crouch and aim and not move yet I still miss
I want to play this game I really do but everytime I do I legit want to pain my walls with a shotgun blast
I feel like the player house is completely different from mine i dont know which wall that is
It's not the player home wall it's in Craterside Supply
R.I.P megaton
Everyone has to experience it at some point
I'm confused, you blew up Megaton and afterwards convinced Sims to kill Burke and got your home and repaired the pipes? Did I miss something? It was extremely fast for a non-native
No you can do either or. You can either convinced Simms to arrest Burke upon which Burke will kill simms and then disarm the bomb for the caps as well as repair the piper or you can choose to blow Megaton up for Burke
@@SimplyVaultedwhats the better choice?
@@harleygriffin3283 I personally like Megaton more, the player house is less inconvenient to get to, the characters are better, there's a lot of side quests to do in Megaton and if you don't wanna miss them you' d have to complete them all before destroying Megaton. It's personal preference though it doesn't have that much of an impact to the game itself tbh
If youre gonna cheat just give yourself enough caps to buy all house improvements lol
Badass video game
Hell yeah!
What mods do you use?
Mainly bug fixes such as the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch and texture mods to increase the resolution of Fallout 3 and sometimes a UI overhaul. I tend not to overmod Fallout 3 too much as it has a tendency to crash the game so much, I use a load more in games such as New Vegas.
hey guys do u think is necesary the sprint mod?
I would say yes, especially if you're used to the game, the default speed can be so annoying
Sneak up to this wall… and where do i find this wall?
Craterside Supply. Head in. Take a left into the room where the guard is leaning. Once there the wall is the left hand side wall when you enter that room
How much modding is required to get this game running on modern hardware?
It requires a bit of tweaking and downloading some additional software like Fallout Script Extender. There are tutorials on YT that are very good at explaining how to do it, you'd be best off following those!
None if you buy it on gog.
I dont know why none of the other big players is able to offer this service...
Rp as a winner lmao
What should i select for the 3 skills after the goat test?
I always choose Speech and Repair as my first two as they're the most useful to me and then the third is normally a weapon tag so for example Small Guns, Energy Weapons, Big Guns, etc but really you can choose whatever you want, I just choose them for a good mix which will help later on.
@@SimplyVaulted Ok thanks i was wondering what to choose
@@jyazz480 No problem, Speech is always good as a lot of speech checks happen in the game which get you better rewards and repair is always good as you constantly need to repair your equipment in the game and then a weapon tag will help give you a boost towards dealing more damage with whatever weapon category you like using the most. But honestly it is whatever you wanna choose. I hope that helps and good luck on your playthrough.
Just me who has no clue what wall it is
How do I talk to simms when the town is in ruin.
Umm you can't then. You either do one or the other, either disarm the bomb and speak to Simms or blow up the bomb and meet Burke at Tenpenny Tower
Man i cant get the shop exploit to work on the wall nor can i get the cap trick to work where i sell the gun and buy it back smh 🤦🏽
They should both work they haven't been officially patched? If you're playing on PC and have the Updated Unofficial Patch mod installed then that I think will patch them. But it should work if you don't have any other mods or anything patching the glitch
Never finished FO4 n I'm just starting again but I want to go back n play 3 didn't finish it either lol anyone have this problem 😅😁
That's a crime! You gotta finish at least one of them!
I can only get to lvl 20 and it won’t let me past??
You need the Broken Steel DLC to get to Level 30. If you don't have that then you will be capped to Level 20
Okk thanks bro an I couldn’t get them freebies for yr room in that hidden locker
Not bad start. But you missed the safe in the ruined house next to the liquor cabinet (easy locked). If you're quick enough you can loot the Hollow Rock w/o killing the molerats. Save them for the Wasteland Survival Guide.
Oh yeah I missed that one. Tbh I just go to the Tepid Sewers, the raiders aren't difficult and there is more than enough to do the optional objective for Moira
What wall is that at 4:55 cant find it
Head into Craterside Supply, take a left and you'll be in the room with some stairs going to the second floor. Immediately to your left is the wall you need to go against in Third Person and you should be able to loot the locker. Sorry about that I hope that helps!
Does FO3 work on Steam? I'd love to head back to the Capital Wasteland. NV isn't my cup of Coffee if I'm being honest and I've gotten plenty of entertainment in the commonwealth
Sort of. It doesn't work right out of the box because of some services and files that it relies on from older platforms no longer exist. There are loads of YT vids that will show you how to set up and get Fallout 3 working on PC, it's not too difficult and you can get it to work. I use the steam version of Fallout 3 myself :)
Works perfectly on Steam with no mods. I even have it on my Steam Deck with no issues.
hey great video! one question! if i decide to turn off the bomb, and then talk to burk about destroying the town, then talking to simms and he gets killed, if i disarm the bomb will i have the 500 caps?
If you disarm the bomb before talking to Burke he will either disappear and won't be in the saloon or he will tell you that you've made a grave mistake and he will head to Tenpenny Tower. But if you already talked to Burke and then told Simms about his plan to blow up the town and then Burke kills Simms you can still get the 500 caps by talking to his son who will give you the same reward that Simms would've given you. I hope that answers your question.
@@SimplyVaulted thank you for taking the time to answer me. really helpful im looking into that!
@@DrDrops420 No problem at all, I hope your playthrough goes well! :)
You skipped the goat test
It doesn't matter
Which wall?? You're sped up clip doesn't show exactly which one I need to look at!
Head into Craterside Supply, take a left and you'll be in the room with some stairs going to the second floor. Immediately to your left is the wall you need to go against in Third Person and you should be able to loot the locker. Sorry about that I hope that helps!
@@SimplyVaulted cheers! I ended up finding it via another yt vid.. can't believe I've been playing fallout 3 since day 1 and never found out about that! 🤣🤣

It can take a bit to get your head around it. Keep at it, you will find your feet!

so what do you want him to do lmao.
imo the accent is fine, it’s just that it was a little too fast for me to get immediately. like it sounds sped up like the gameplay is lol
Probably the dumbest thing I’ve heard he can’t help his accent. Maybe you should pay attention more idk lmao
Subpar
Care to elaborate?
who's htis guide even for? I was expecting loose advice on pathing and trait, perk, skill prioritization, not roleplaying decision, like "kill this innocent character for 100 caps."
