I remember listening to your reactions for the first time and thinking how Rahul would actually react to *Mehram* because it made an impact on literally everyone and then I kept thinking about how sensitive you are to things and you'd actually interpret this one. So glad you chose it before every other song. We are here haha.

“Dil bhar kay aanhain thak geya, phir bhi na ro paye hum” no matter how many times I listen to this song, this part gets me crying like a baby. Also @5:18 when Asfar says “Mein sun raha tha sab hee” yea hits like a truck

From the first time i listened to this song when it came out, and then on every subsequent listen, one line has stood out for me each time... it goes, "Kitni karoon mein iltija saath ki chaand se.." for me, this line is the essence of this whole song. so much helplessness, sadness, exhaustion in this line. To me, this is what this song is all about.

This song triggers a visceral reaction. The soft voices amplify the lyrics and the music blends so nicely with the vocals. Thank you for your reaction and analysis. I found it very gothic, as if Heathcliffe or Miss Havisham were around the corner.

Greetings Rahul ji. YA Allah, finally😄. I have two emotions for this song. Haunting memories that you want to cling to because they are the relics of your past, like Nations preserve their glorious relics from the past. Nostalgia, that you sometimes purposefully want to delve into, drown in it and emerge in the present feeling clean as it works like a catharsis. The voices are so appropriate because they are also haunting and nostalgic. Very ethereal and other worldly.....
Will Smith: The American Comedy culture is based on roasting, lambasting anything, and everything be it ideas, infra structures, politics, or personalities. Nothing is sacred. Specially the Oscars and White House Correspondents' dinner are the two occasions famous for hits on personalities. Chris Rock was following the tradition, right or wrong aside.
Will Smith was out of line, and acted very Juvenile in his response. Violence is not to be condoned in any form except as self defense in a life or death situation. Will also undermined Jada as a woman. I would have felt offended, that my husband didn't trust me to take care of myself if the need be. She is an eloquent and a verbose woman who could've come up with a crisp retort had she felt the need to do so. It was a dig at her she should have made the choice to address it or let go. This is setting the wrong precedent and Will knows better.
I am so glad that Will had the decency to come out publicly and apologize profusely. Chapter closed, we move on and let them move on.

    Yaar Rahul bhai.
Your smile is that million dollar smile, it can light up the dim dark dungeons of this otherwise melancholy song's ghetto.
But your tears are painful, for they are honest and genuine. So it strikes a cord instantly.
Unlike you I didn't cry listening to this somber number, but seeing your facial expression made me sad too.
Then I looked at your wonderful book collection and found the perfect metaphoric translation for the song, 'The part I left with you '.
Sounds a great read and I'm looking it up as I type....
Stay smiling man, it's good to smile and laugh with you and through your vids, though it can be cathartic watching you shed what others may not be able to, emotions through tears
    Bless ya

I agree. I think it is the uniqueness of their vocals which makes the song and the stripped back composition. Re the Oscars incident I think its a case of two wrongs don't make a right. Anyone whose ever been bullied know words can cause pain but also violence is rarely the answer. Will Smith could have handled it better and come out on top

    • @WritingRahul
      @WritingRahul  Před 2 lety +4

The vocals are quite something! I have never come anyone's fan so quickly! Can't wait to listen to other songs by these artists!
About Will Smith - I share the same thoughts. Both were wrong. What Rock did was wrong and what Will did was even worse. If I put myself in his shoes - if someone invited me to an even and insulted Mez I would just walk out. (in fact I did that at a lit fest so many years back).
Also, insult comedy needs to be discouraged. I don't approve of that.

Rahul bhai yeh gana to bohut rulaata hai....aap ready ho jai. Hauntingly beautiful. Just surrender to it.
I saw the incident live and my opinion is there a lot of options before you resort to assault...for someone's words. No excuse whatsoever and his speech just made it worse. He sucked the air and joy out of the room and like a narcissist, made it about himself and his wife. Took the attention from people's work
..some who have worked decades to get there.

What problem are you trying to solve with the new audio equipment? and what workflow do you go through for attaching audio with your video.
I am guessing that you are using your shotgun mic plugged into your camera right now, and you want to use OBS or some similar software to capture both your camera and the screen in one go. For this type of reaction video, you don't want to have a microphone in your face so a shotgun mic is the best choice IMHO. Samson C03 is a condenser microphone, and you will need to have it very close to your mouth.
The shotgun mic you have right now is pretty good, if you want to have more bass in your voice then you have to bring the mic closer to your mouth, around 6-12 inches away will put you in the sweet spot and you can use a boom pole to have it right above your head just out of the view of your camera (there are plenty of videos on youtube that can show you how to do that, here's one czcams.com/video/BJTpriiPJI8/video.html).
    I hope that helps

Hi Faraz, Thank you so much for your comment.
When I watch videos from other youtube channels, the sound is crisper, I feel so I thought I can use an upgrade.
Right now I am using Rode Video mic (Shotgun) and record the sound on an Zoom H1 sound recorder. I have an old camera (Nikon D5100) and tried connecting the mic directly but got a lot of noise. So I record the sound on Zoom H1 and then sync the sound while editing.
From what I understand, the mic I have already is suitable for my setup. Thanks for sharing the link, it was helpful. You think I should invest in an audio interface?
      Thank you once again :))

@@WritingRahul if I were you, I would use a software like OBS (free), use a USB HDMI adapter ($11) to plug in your camera directly into your computer, plug your audio 3.5mm audio cable into your computer then record everything in one place on the computer. I simplified a bit by using Rode VideoMic GO II that plugs directly into computer via USB ($100)

Ps. My thoughts of Will Smith and Chris Rock saga is that he should not have slapped him. If he was trying to do this to "protect the feelings or for the respect of his wife" then I think this little stunt of his has done the opposite. It reflects poorly on WS... And no matter how insensitive the joke was, Chris Rock comes out looking like the bigger person for not stooping to violence and for carrying on with the show.
Was the joke okay? I think it was very basic, not offensive but just not funny either (it Def didn't warrant physical violence). I am suffering from alopecia myself and a GI Jane joke would have gone over my (soon to be bald) head because I don't even know the movie. I wouldn't want my husband to "fight" for my honour or whatever, like I'm a big girl and I can take care of myself. I'd much prefer bad mouthing someone who made fun of my condition with my husband when we're in our room... You know? Like normal people. 😂
Anyhow. You asked for our thoughts so here they are. Hope you're not too bored reading this through 😂

      Thank you again :)
And I share the same point of view. His action has left such a bad taste that I am still not able to see him (or any of his movie) on screen.
By all means he seems to be troubled by something and Chris Rock became the target of his displaced anger but that does not justify his action. All the actions taken against him still feel light to me.
