  • 5 minute reviews of kits I will be building. My hope here is to provide a simple break down of the kit in the box, my initial impressions, and provide you a good look at what is in the kit.
Today's video is about the Eduard's MiG-21MF in 1:72 scale!

Love these quick reviews. Makes me want to pick up these different kits that you are featuring.

Regarding the decals, have you seen the suggestion that the carrier film may be removed after application? Don't understand why Eduard went in this direction (well, cost, I'm sure, was the major factor). Looking forward to your build. Plastic is lovely.

Yes, and I've tried the process with mixed results. When it works and the carrier film can be peeled off, then the decals look fantastic. But as many times as not, I've ended up pulling the decal up along with the carrier film, or scratched up the paint work trying to do so. I think if the process were a little easier I could be more forgiving of the new decals, but so far It's been more of a hassle than its worth. Just my two cents though. Maybe this one will be different?

the carrier film on there new decals are made to remove making the decals more of a painted look......

In concept that's what's supposed to happen, but so far in my experience, it hasn't worked consistently enough for me. Not saying this is the fault of the decal, could just as well be that I'm not doing it correctly. And when it works it works great. But most of the time, it doesn't work.
