These are very cool, but Galoob had much better paint application on their Action Fleet ships and figures. I was a rabid collector of the Action Fleet ships back in the '90s and I have them safely stored away somewhere. This gives me the itch to dig them back out. I'd love to see what some hand painting would do to really dress these figured up.
Kinda reminds me of the 90s Galoob's micro machine playsets, those were so cool, had all of them and loved them as a kid because at that time that was really all there was at toy stores for a kid getting into Star Wars for the first time. It was before the Power of the Force came out.

I remember back in the 90's and 00's seeing that Galoob made a TIE Defender, but it was SUPER rare, so despite wanting it badly I was never able to get one because they got REALLY expensive on eBay later. And with the TIE Defender appearing in Star Wars Rebels, there's hope they'll release a Defender in this line eventually!
From what I’ve seen so far these feel like a worthy successor to the Action Fleet line and a good alternative for those with lighter wallets unable to find good prices. For those versed with Action Fleet, I’d say Micro Galaxy is great to get those ships that didnt exist back then like the Razor Crest.
These looks great. My son has recently gotten into Star Wars. I wish they still made 3.5 inch toys though. I have still have a few Kenner era figures and a Y-Wing with missing or broken parts that I had from my youth and my son loves those. Plays with the Y-Wing with my old C3PO in the broken cockpit. I've mentioned the other ships I used to have and he excitedly looks up videos on youtube and then says he wants those for his birthday. I then have to explain they don't make anything like that anymore. He does have some of the mission fleets ships but they are not quite the same. Anyway, I wish Hasbro would do a proper release of 3.5 scale stuff that is actually priced reasonably.
I hope they create more and make all of the trilogies I really wanna see figure packs and they make like the tie whisper tie silencer rey falcon etc. they should definitely make playsets like the landscapes because there are some people who extremely want even just a simple foldable landscape of hoth or something. there are so many possibilities but for now this is an amazing wave and I was surprised to see this.
Great video. But take another look at the 90s SW toys. There was the Action Fleet which is like this new line. There was also the Micro Machines line at a smaller scale with statue figs tiny ships. The stormtrooper play set was not apart of the Action Fleet. That’s why you noticed these new figs are too large. They’re basically remakes of the Action Fleet. I still have both collections from back in the day.
That stormtrooper head playset was intended for use with smaller fixed pose figures. That action fleet had not been released at the time the head sets were iirc. There are a few action fleet playsets; yavin, hoth, and a death star.
The scale of the vehicles is around 1:96, but the scale of the figures is closer to 1:64. If you measure Luke in millimeters and multiply by 96, he is over 7 ft tall. But multiply by 64 and he’s around 5 1/2 ft tall.
I hadn't picked them up until I saw the TIE fighter (which I never found during the Action Fleet era), and realized they were pretty much in scale with the old ones. TIE fighter felt a little flimsier than the AF ships, but then I bought Slave 1, totally loved it! Guess I'm back in the collecting game, for the moment! Haha!
The only gripe I really have is that while most of the ships are in scale, Obi Wans ship is way too big. Its supposed to be barely above half the length of an x wing, they were tiny starfighters. And you can really tell its too big when you put Obi-Wan in there, he takes up so little space in the cockpit, but in universe its a snug little cockpit. Other than that they look fine
That Assaj Ventress one is a deep cut for those who watched the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon. On that note though, these would be perfect for games that require a visual element like RPGs.
The Troop Transport was my first ever Star Wars vehicle. The one with the sound effects on it. I loved it... for a week and a half. I left it in a middle of the main driveway, where about 4 families shared the driveway. Somebody ran over it and I learned life lesson # 84 "Pick your sh*t up and take care of it". My parents would not buy another one because I shouldn't have left it where it was. So I purchased this solely from that story.
I got the x wing, Falcon, Tie fighter and the Razor crest... love the details even tho I painted the Carbonite slab from the Razor crest. They do need some figure packs.. "baby yoda" and some stands

I just bought two tie fighters at Target on clearance for $9.99, but they had battle damage. I thought they were regular release. But after watching this video, they're either rare or exclusive to Target. I don't like the battle damaged.
I love the ships and everything but please do not mistaken the names of the symbols or model astromech droids they are. The symbol on obi-wans starfighter is the symbol of the republic not imperial. The droid for obi-wan is R4-p17. Its an R4 unit not a R2 unit

only one thing the characters are about 1" most the guys are supposed to be 6" so thus figures are about 1/72 but yes they play with scale for the vehicles 1/72 would have been huge
I enjoyed what you had to say and the angles and such as well as your enthusiasm and dynamics. Although I must say, your emphisis on some of your words is just to darn LOUD. I had to turn my volume down for those LOUD words. And then could not hear your normal speaking voice volume. So just a suggestion, maybe tone down your accented words so the volume between accent and normal speach is more even. Hate to nit pick. But it took away from your informative vid. Maybe move the mic a bit further away when narrating ???

even though they're not in scale, I think I still prefer the action fleet from the 90s. also I love the little display stands they used to come with.

Worst line of Star Wars toys I ever played with. They used 50% less plastic with no rubber in the mold. It reminds me of model plastic not toy.
