    Putting suspension travel and pure horsepower aside this is the best all around SXS on the market!

      And in reality, the Rmax is a vehicle you could come back to after not using and still achieve a good sport utility ride and or get around the property with..!
      Or let kids play with...

    I really love our RMAX4. It has proven to be so versitile that it's been suprising. Love taking friends and family for rides in it. It is just a blast. Plenty of power for everything except hard dune rides on the big stuff. My only gripes is I wish the driver seat could go back about 2 more inches and a better reclining position. I am a big guy and it's comfy enough, but could be better. I also wish it had rebound adjustment on the shocks. It's needed on the back bad!

    As a Teryx 4 owner this machine really appeals to me. T4s are slow and loud but otherwise very capable. I was curious about how the reduced travel Rmax 4 rides in comparison to the 2 seater. Now I know. Thanks for the great review!

      Man I have had my 2013 Teryx 4 going on 10 years now. The thing is a billy goat and virtually unbreakable. I just sold my Can am X3 and am looking at either putting 5000 into my teryx for more speed and suspension, or selling it and buying the RMAX4 100

    • @shoefly757

      Hey man I just wanted to update since we were in the same boat. I just bought a 23' RMAX4 XTR. Its everything we wished the teryx would be. Still a billy goat but way more comfort, speed, power, suspension, and clearance.

  • @MassiveOverkill

    I'd agree on the really big stuff that the RMAX2 would have a better ride. I found the RMAX4 to have a better ride on everything else but then again, I tested the base RMAX2 with harder Dirt Commanders while my RMAX4 LE had squishy Carnage tires, which I'm sure helped absorb bumps, plus iQS shocks are supposedly softer than the soft position on the manually adjustable shocks.
    A lot of guys say there's no room in the back of an RMAX4 except if you have infants in car seats. Well I'd agree if those infants were your size and weight. You're pretty much in Nephilim territory and although you have to perform yoga moves getting in/out, after a few times practicing, you learn where to grab and how to swing in like riding a bike.

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 Před 2 lety +1

      Tire pressure is important too. Lower pressure equals softer ride. Depends on terrain though. In high speed stuff, i'd rather have higher pressure and a bit stiffer ride. I'd give up some comfort for control.

      I'd definitely agree with you on the adventure pro. They are nothing but an old, out of date Android tablet. In the settings on them you can find the build date of the unit. Mine is 3 or 4 years old. It's operation and battery life shows. It works well as a guage cluster. And the GPS does work well too. But the operation of it is clunky showing it's age. Yamaha must have a warehouse full of them the bought a few years back.
      I went ahead and downloaded another gps mapping app on mine, which took some doing. My wifes cousin helped with it since the programming on it is somewhat locked up to prevent people from doing so...as far as I can tell (downloaded the Google play store app and it won't open it). But the one i downloaded works way better in my opinion.

    • @BarnStangz
      @BarnStangz Před 3 lety

      @@tomyeahright9684 Right on man, yeah, fully agree with what you're saying. I was able to "side load" some apps on mine, but I do like how it looks as a gauge cluster and tracking where I go. Other then that, it's pretty useless. I would love to see a more modern upgrade that could interface with what is already there. Yamaha should at least provide a solution to use a more modern tablet, esp. since they are so inexpensive now-a-days.

    • @tomyeahright9684

      I think it has to do with the fact that all of the old time motorsports enthusiasts who used to run the motorsports side of Yamaha have all but retired and been replaced with bean counters. I used to know some guys in Yamaha corporate. And that's what they used to tell me on some of the "questionable" things that Yamaha has done in recent years that are somewhat contrary to what Yamaha snobs, like me, are used to.

  • @gregrowe1168

    Yamaha needs to make a 50” version of this or the yxz. The 850 engine would be plenty powerful for a smaller and lighter machine. I’m not sure they will ever make a a 50” utv. Too many lawsuits from rhino owners who tried to ride over their head and flipped them.

      Not true at all. There is actually quite a bit of space between the back seats. That's where we put our hard sides cooler. There is also space for coolers behind the seats. We use the high quality soft coolers and they fit perfectly.

    • @pajamatime5750
      @pajamatime5750 Před 3 lety +3

      I don’t care what anyone says they need to rethink the back seat and cargo design. The seat tracks the getting in and out, the lack of storage in 4-person configuration and the overall rear passenger space are a deal breaker for me…. They need to address this to make it a fantastic machine. A rear seat / cargo bed layout similar to a Teryx 4 would be ideal as it’s a better design…. The rest of this RMAX is sweet though!

    • @grantscissons4959

      @@grantscissons4959 I know. So is the Teryx 4 and it has a superior configuration in my opinion. Yeah, the RMAX is WAY more machine I just would like them to rethink the rear seats / cargo area…. I really like the RMAX but, after trying one, couldn’t own it based solely on how bad the rear seats are compared to the Teryx. I’m 6’3” and can ride in the rear of a Teryx 4 all day. Not to mention how easy it is to get in and out. Plus, there’s a decent size cargo bed out the back that isn’t part of the passenger compartment!! My 2 cents anyway. Not bashing the RMAX just think they’d have a seriously appealing unit on their hands if the rear seats were better!
