What does “Progressive” mean in “Progressive Baptist Church”?

I could be wrong but “progressive” at one point in black Baptist Churches had to do with the Civil Rights movement.

Early Church is 200 to 400 AD yes? New Testament times.

5:01 The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was NOT in danger of expiring in its entirety. There are provisions of the Act that sunsetted, but the ability for minority voters to vote unimpeded by unconstitutional tests is a PERMANENT part of the statute.
Pastor, please remember and practice the words of your prayer just 2 minutes prior 2:51

So how much purification love you have to do to get to Heaven after you are saved? Peter application appropriate after rapture. By grace ONLY you are saved not by works, purification after you are saved. You are twisting scripture.

This is the beauty of the gospel Claude, Salvation is through grace by faith in Christ alone. Though salvation is wrought by faith, it is our works that prove it to be true. We cannot work our way to salvation, but accept the beautiful gift that God has given to us, and in our faith, work it out in our lives through our words, thoughts, and actions. OUR SOLE PURPOSE ON THIS EARTH IS TO GLORIFY GOD. Our lives must be lived to that end. Your question then should not be "how much love must you have", but a statement "I will give God all the love I have". God bless you brother.

I love living out the Bible. I truly do! I wish not grudgingly nor required but cheerfully. The word "must" hampers my cheerfulness living the gospel , cross power to create my own righteousness by grace and at Judgement Seat of Christ less wrinkles and blemishes christ Jesus has to repair then at Day of Lord, Jesus presents us perfect and flawless. I should rather than must to the end of our born again lives. My dear brother, if my statement offended you, accept deepest apologies.Thank you so much for your gracious response.

@@claudenickerson3649 You can't listen to that guy. Red Flags went up the moment he dismissed Lordship Salvation. God MUST be the Lord of our lives. It's not to say that we won't sin, but if our lives without the desire of God being Lord of all, we have to check ourselves. We aren't perfect. We will sin. BUT it's the pursuit of Him that changes all things. If we desire to be more like him, he MUST be the Lord of our lives. No if, ands, or buts about it. Seek after the Lord with your whole heart and desire him with all you are. THAT is Lordship Salvation. We have to live out our salvation with fear and trembling. We must have faith and works, faith without works is deasd. We can't live in sin and claim Christ. We have been freed from it's bondage. Our natural desire is to go back to Egypt, go back to bondage, but we have been called through Christ to so much more! Live, knowing the freedom found in Christ. You will fall, you will stumble, but know that if Christ is the Lord of your life, he will sustain you, build you, grow you, and strengthen you. Immerse yourself in the Word and God will prove himself faithful. He is the author of your faith, the sustainer of your faith, and when it's all done, he'll be the perfecter of it as well.
