    As I have briefly read the comments, it seems to be lost on many people, that a Major principle of the Constitution is the SEPARATION of CHURCH and STATE. The founders DID NOT WANT a NATIONAL RELIGION. The whole point of the USA at its inception was freedom of religion that anyone can practice the religion of their choice. Christianity IS NOT the official(or unofficial) religion of the USA.

    The "godfather" of the Catholic justices on the court was Antonin Scalia, whose son is a priest. He was highly influential in convincing Clarence Thomas to return to the Church, after having spent many years as an Episcopalian. Perhaps if he were still around, he would be influencing Neil Gorsuch to do the same. It is interesting how many of the Catholics on the court have some degree of Jesuit training. The founder of Jesuit-run Georgetown University was America's first Catholic Bishop John Carroll, who had been a Jesuit himself, and was the cousin of Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signatory to the Declaration of Independence.

    One wonders if the Catholic faith of the six nominal members has served them well when one considers that two of them are under scrutiny for having violated ethics pertaining to their positions, and at least three others gave devious answers when they were being interviewed by Congress prior to their being confirmed in their current positions. The American public regards the current Court with considerable suspicion due to several recent questionable decisions handed down by the Court. One wonders how a Justice can be impartial but not neutral, nor recuse one's self, when one has a conflict of interest regarding a case, or has accepted extravagant gifts from someone who has a case before the Court?

There were widespread European wars over religion from 1550-1650 approximately and out of that conflict came the idea of a separation of Church and State. catechism # 668 "Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living." Christ's Ascension into heaven signifies his participation, in his humanity, in God's power and authority. Jesus Christ is Lord: he possesses all power in heaven and on earth. He is "far above all rule and authority and power and dominion", for the Father "has put all things under his feet." Christ is Lord of the cosmos and of history. In him human history and indeed all creation are "set forth" and transcendently fulfilled.

    People seem to like the idea of a separation between the Church and the state, citing it would cause trouble to allow the Church to lead the state. Yet when we look at history, never has there been so much unrest, malice and degeneracy as in our time. If you separate the magisterium (The teachings of the true faith spread by the eternal Church of our Lord) from the institutions meant to lead us, we will always diverge from the Truth.

    • @heatherheimbueger1275
      @heatherheimbueger1275 Před měsícem

      No, diverging from truth is when religion is used as a weapon to pursue particular points of view. What makes Christianity better than Islam, Hinduism Judaism? In our past, God fearing people held slaves, called Native peoples savage and moved them from their traditional lands to Reservations. The Trail of Tears was a result of "good Christians " forcibly moving Native people off their land resulting in thousands of native people dying. Christians in government interred Japanese Americans in locked areas for the
      duration of WWII, for being Japanese Americans and no proof of wrongdoing. What is really amazing is that each of these groups have proudly served in the military, risking their lives for Good Christians that have treated them so badly, amazing. Good Christians are backing a man thrice married, cheated on all of them, found liable for sexual misconduct, guilty of 34 counts of fraud, incited an insurrection, stole and shared top secret documents that he stored in the ballroom and a bathroom, and tried to interfere with the federal presidential election via phone call to Georgia Secretary of State to "find " votes, among other acts. He cheats at golf, which he claims he is great at. Never in the military, those people are "losers" according to djt. During his last year in the White House, he spent his time divided between golfing and campaigning, oh and ignoring a deadly pandemic. And from Jan. 1 , 2020 he started his indoctrination that if he loses the election, it was rigged. He sounds like a good Christian man, a man of God, but can't give you a verse from the Bible. @@Luke-ms5hn the US us not a theocracy governed by a religion as in Iran. The Catholic Church does not govern over the country. Read the US Constitution, there is a separation of state and church. The three branches of government needs to follow the Constitution not your personal religion. The US is comprise of multiple religions belief and non believers as well.

    What about their involvement with the Catholic cult, Opus dei? At least 5 of these justices have connections with this cult, possibly 6. This is the critical issue about this court. From what I've read Opus dei's primary commitment is to money and power,. While I don't know the spiritual status of these justices, this issue should be examined. Also the Heritage foundation's (Project 2025) director, Kevin Roberts has Opus dei connections, as does Leonard Leo... This is more than just a Roman Catholic issue.
