I have been interested in buying a wrestling mat to use as a type of "area rug" in my living room. I love wrestling/grappling and so do my friends -- As a result, we often break out into wrestling matches on my existing floor whenever I have them visiting at home. This almost always leads to use getting bad rug burns, which sometimes even gets infected! Your tatami surface mats sounds perfect for my needs -- My only problem is that I don't have space to put them in my garage. We are all experienced in wrestling and know how to "roll into" takedowns to prevent ourselves from being injured on even unpadded carpets, and we prefer the ground hame over takedowns anyway. Having a mat with unnecessary 1.5 inch thickness in my living room will be a tripping hazard for non-wrestler guests and children too. I am interested in buying a very low thickness (1/2" or so) mat that has a tatami surface and comes with a sloping decline edge piece to reduce tripping risk. Could you guys fulfill such an order? Thanks :)
Our thinnest tatami option is 20 mm (about 7/8 inch) -- www.greatmats.com/flooring/foam-floor-tile-tatami22.php -- The only option we have with a ramped edge availability would be the pro version of the 1 5/8 inch mats -- www.greatmats.com/mats/mma-mats.php
I baught Interlocking red and blue mats for my dojo, everytime we practice our feet are red from the mats, the color comes off, is this natural for new mat to happen?how do i stop this?
The cause of color transfer from EVA foam tile is unknown. Possibly the cleaning product that is being used or climate. It may be worth trying a different cleaning product.
Im looking for a mat for kickboxing and taekwondo and the sorts, I bought some cheap interlocking mats at a local store and they shift and disconnect when I do faster paced kicking, im sure these higher quality ones will eliminate them disconnecting, but will it also help them from shifting heavily when used on a hard floored surface (basement)?
These mats will hold together as long as the subsurface is hard, flat and level. The type of the installation will make a big difference as to whether or not the matting system shifts on top of the floor. For a wall-to-wall installation, they will not shift. Larger island installations will also be less likely to shift than small island installations.
The 1.5 inch thick version would be the best for that as it has a 4 foot critical fall height rating for protection against serious head injuries. With that being said, this still is a quite firm mat, so we generally recommend adding a folding mat or crash mat on top of the tiles if you will be working on a lot of throws or slams.
The 1" thick mat is suitable for jumping on, but is not designed specifically for fall protection. If you are looking for fall protection, you'll want to go thicker. The 1 5/8 thick mats are the rated for falls up to 4 feet.
@@SOULJALOS While the mats are not designed for outdoor use, it has been done. They will not absorb water, but may discolor when exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time. Extreme heat can also temporarily soften EVA foam as it can cause expansion of the foam. Just something to be aware of.
No way!😝 that’s a raw egg or hard boiled??? Lol 😆
Definitely a raw egg. Thanks for asking.

What would be best to go under a Thai bag?
You'd be best served by the 3/4 inch mat - www.greatmats.com/play-mat/foam-play-exercise-mat.php

Is this good for takedowns in MMA like slams ?

PLEASE TELL ME HOW MUCH MATS NEED FOR 400 SQUEREFEET WRESTLING RING?
100 2x2 mats
Do they give off a plastic or chemical odor?
They do have slight off gassing smells when brand new. That fades over time.
Could a 1 inch thick mat be enough cushion to be able to do parkour flips on top of the concrete??

What about judo?
We'd recommend the Home MMA BJJ Mats for Judo. They offer the greatest fall protection. www.greatmats.com/products/home-grappling-mats.php
