Fair play to the homeowner stepping away when he wasn't sure. Too many would have soldiered on and made a mess. And too many believe Volt Sticks provide an indication worth betting your life on.
yep on both counts. I use volt sticks as a quick indication that a circuit is off (ie i have the right breaker off) before removing the accessory to check properly (and yes i have a proving unit lol)
This is something I need to learn myself, some things just are not worth messing around with and need a professional. Spent hours trying to unblock a toilet at work the other day, put it all back together, and it was still blocked, drain doctors called out, and they discovered a massive blockage underground which even they struggled with.
I’m a plumber and about 25 years ago I started doing all my own electrics on heating systems……..because Sparkys didn’t have a clue! An unbelievable breed of tradesman

charming attitude from a fellow tradesperson. And I for one DO have a clue... but it's outside most house badger's comfort zone
Try fitting a switchee absolutely horrible job
Sure the wiring diagram is on the inside of the lid
Delroy at it again
I'm convinced yall are bots
I always take a picture before I disconnect
picture is good but also label how it is wired is good practice, also bit of tape on the switch live doesnt hurt.
normaly open .normaly closed
Nice gloves but I’m sure it’s not cold
I thought those Honeywell Stats had a wiring diagram in the lid so connections should be obvious
