Happy 2024, Mike & family and everyone here. I remember Gene Berg’s method for drilling for full flow with the engine in the car. You would tap the case using grease to keep the metal particles out of the galleys. Adventurous! 😉

I recommend clamping the case and using a drill press. The drill bits can pull into the material really fast with a hand drill and throw your unsecured case in turn cracking the hole you’re drilling very easily. I also recommend using a reamer before tapping to again prevent cracking Also Rocky Jennings among others I’m sure sell a nice little tool for clearance the case for the brass 90
I used Empi aluminum plugs because they will expand and contract at a rate a Lot closer with the mag case but you have to be careful and have quality Allen wrenches because they can strip pretty easy

Rockys kit and drill press do a much better job.

I didnt feel out of control at all just catches easily. then I would back it off and let the speed do the work. Not hard at all to do with a regular drill. I just would not use a plug in drill. cordless just does not have enough power to do any damage IMO.

Nice job on the full flow! Good points on where the oil pumps leak. I still have all my taps for all that.

Thanks Mike, I was looking for info on What kind of plug to use after pulling the OG plugs. I see aluminum ones, brass ones and steel. Ok on the Steel ones. Thanks again.

If the pimp is to loose to the case get a cast iron pump and solder around the pick up hole and the exit hole then shoe shin it with emery cloth till it is in , even if it take 2X to get it right . my 1999 Autolinea case went from 4 lbs hot to 45 lbs hot . When you put a motor together with all new parts and aint got no oil pressure try this out . How to check if this is the problem is take the 4 oil pump studs out and tighten the case mine would rattle ? Your oil pump should have to be beat in with a block of wood and hammer = interference fit but loosen case knock it in the tighten final .

Hey Mike ! H N Y ! off subject I watched your # shorts video on the Brothers reground hp cams yesterday ? I commented back that they use to flycut the heads to compensate for the valve adjust > I thought about it some more and it is possible that the reground lifters gets rid of distance . You would not believe the stuff they did back in the 60s . On p/cs they would expand the piston .010 and hone bore the cyl. and put .010 rings which made a 87mm and they had green tipped wrist pins that were .005 over sized and would hone the piston and rod without replacing bushing . fix it right up !

    Excellent and informative video!
Unfortunately some sellers on amazon and sometimes amazon do not like to send to Puerto Rico. Not having anybody in the US, most of the time I have to rely on whatever I can find in the Island. Overpriced!

@@Mikefngarage , yup. Trying them now, and CarCraft. Shipping is a Keller. Even though we are part of the US, where I can send parts in a USPS Priority box,no matter how heavy, they rather charge more shipping.

Just two layers of Teflon tape, seals and does not increase the torque placing the plug. Old oilfield hand.

Do you have any experience or talked to anyone that has used the CB in & out pumps where you don’t need to drill for full flow? It seems like a good idea, but I don’t see much feedback on the web or CZcams. I understand how they work so it seems like a no brained to use one instead of doing all the drilling and tapping but it doesn’t seem very common.

Bit scared too drill into a case. But does this mod help keep the motor cool for longer drives? Does oil pump gears differ in size? Can the original oil cooler be removed too use the remote oil cooler for longegevity? As my my bug is a daily and live in South Africa
