The thing that is triggering me the most is "the red makes you drift" :/
True, there both terrible but its still fun to watch X play.
THE THINGS TO TIGHTEN IT DOWN ARNT ON PROPERLY
ikr XD
so cringe its unreal
well it’s really a noob noticing higher rpm’s make you drift
poke gave the worst instructions ever lmao and x still aint got force feedback omegaLUL
probably doesn't want force feedback cuz it will snap his chicken arms PepeLaugh.
@@vektorr3385 guess you dont know what force feedback is

Poke: You wanna clutch and then kick the acceleration
I don't know about you guys but in my 8 years of drifting you're supposed to kick the clutch before going into a corner not the acceleration hence why its called a clutch kick and not an "acceleration kick"
poke cant teach for shit
Doesn't the clutch disconnect the transmission from the engine?
dont you hold down the handbrake and at same time kick the clutch ?
@@itsexpla you should clutch when you handbrake but that's not a clutch kick really (though i suppose if you release it quickly it pretty much is) if you just want to a use clutch kick to initiate a drift you just press the the throttle and then quickly press and release the clutch to bring up the revs and make the wheels spin as you turn in.
@@zwenkwiel816 makes sense lol
No force feedback, the seating position, the completely oblivious instructions by poke..
My lord this is gonna be tough
he has ffb on
@@Gunnr_ Either its off or its on the least resistive setting possible cause that thing is not giving any sort of feedback.
Drifting is pretty difficult but once you get the basics like knowing your car and how to start a drift you can start mastering it like anything else.
Its not difficult if you can give the right instructions. Im not sure if poke mentioned that letting the wheel slide in your hands will help instead of holding it and then catch the wheel at the right abgle while keeping in control. Poke needs to learn how to teach lol.
i think learning how to go fast on a track while drifting is easier than with grip cause you know you will be able to correct easily and then push the limit further ...
@@LilOaks no never only in racing sims but what's the point ?
Im not saying drifting is easy what im saying is that you can use drifting as a crutch to push your limits but at a certain point you will plateau and the only way to go faster is to learn how to grip on track you'r in cause when you are drifting if you make a mistake you can correct it easily when you know how to do so ... if you make a mistake while griping this means you lose way more time than if you were drifting.
i never said it was easy to learn.
Once u learn to counter steer it gets si much easier
Drifting is like first learning how to ride a bike then it clicks and you never forget how to drift.
I was just like him when i first started to drift, played for a while then called it a night as it was pretty late when i finished my setup. The following day it clicked and it felt natural.
I have yet to drift IRL but i've gotten way better in only 200 hrs of drifting/VR
Nice man, drifting in VR is as specially hard.
im on like 500 hours
I know what you mean I struggled for a long time to learn drifting cuz on joystick once you’re done countersteering you just let go, while with a wheel you actually have to unravel the wheel appropriately, but once it clicked I could effortlessly drift in tandem, even if I took huge breaks since sometimes I would go months without touching my sim. As soon as I get a slide or two in I’m good to go.
@@BayAreaRushHour same dude. It’s so fun, yea I don’t center the wheel with my hands, mostly with throttle
@@ConnorAE wouldnt it be easier in vr because you have depth perception?
listening to poke and watching xqc, i aint coming back
the guy trying to help him doesn't know what he is talking about in the slightest.. This whole session is just blind leading the blind.
I've been drifting for years and he's doing good at explaining, stop hating on something you know nothing about
@@stackerv8617 buddy they are on a car pack that has the inertia length of a bus, on top of that, all he really tells him to do is rip the handbrake, it took almost an hour for him to read chat and figure out how to do a clutch kick. You know you're shit at giving advice when a twitch chat is more effective at teaching than you. i could seriously go on and on about all the advice he could've gave that would've actually progressed him in this session.
I guess drifting for almost 5 years, being around it since i was a kid and having friends in Formula drift Japan means nothing cause a guy on the internet told me i dont know shit.
@@transient442 stop with the throwing around your years of experience and friends knowledge. as you mentioned it means nothing on the internet.
you are right though the dude was giving terrible advice but that can be easily proved by the terrible advice he was giving "just get it in the red that's when it will drift" while technically not wrong is a terrible instruction on how to drift PERIOD
@@zwenkwiel816 nah if someone wants to tell me i have no idea what im talking about when its been my entire life for half a decade im going to quickly correct that.. whether it means anything to anyone or not
@@zwenkwiel816 technically that is very wrong. Redlining the car doesn't make you drift, in fact it can make it unnecessarily harder to drift. You want your RPM to be relatively low so that when the car is actually breaking loose you have room to control the drift with torque. If youre in, lets say second gear and you're up at redline and you try to drift nothing will happen because you can't send any more power to the wheels to overcome the grip of the tyres
Who ever is explaining how to drift is making XQC life harder than it is
he forgot to let go off the clutch and keep on throttel
He forgor 💀
@@jackdixon2879 yeah he forgot
He did pretty good to the End to be honest, for not even knowing what a clutch is a few days ag omegaLUL
i mean this isn’t true, he literally has driven a manual car irl years ago
What video are you watching because I saw no good drifts anywhere in this video
There's no honesty here
he actually sort of got it in the end, didn't expect that
honestly nice of top streamers like xqc and poke to step their toes into assetto corsa, enjoyed watching them learn how to drift :D
he getting more into cars and i like it
I’d love to get into a lobby with XQC and bump him every time he’s in front
19:40 It makes me so happy when I watch people learn shit and they finally get it 😭
that shit makes me so emotional idk why.
Drifting is not all about redlining and steering, you just need to let the steering wheel do its thing and let it slide through your hands you actually just need to hold it and do some corrections when you're already in the right angle. the most important thing is the throttle control, you have to be smooth, also utilize the force feedback of your wheel, try to feel the weight transfer of the car so you'll know when to countersteer, otherwise, you're just going to spinout uncontrollably
I love the fact that he’s getting more into motorsport, but I think it’s the funniest thing watching him since he has absolutely no clue what he’s doing. You’ve gotta have so much throttle and clutch control and you’ve got to have a sense of smoothness so that it flows. Would’ve most likely benefitted if they’d studied the track first (e.g. did a few laps so they know the layout). You don’t really want to constantly be red-lining the car either, you have a lot more control if you can balance it in the middle of say 3rd or 4th gear.
he doesnt even have the fundamentals of driving and he wants to start drifting. hes got everything wrong paddle shifting no force feedback and the guy telling him how to drift is so wrong. being on redline doesnt make u drift
@@mint_au yeah definitely. He is just diving straight into the stuff that looks the most appealing, whilst skipping steps and whilst having no practise or very little general knowledge in other areas first as well as in drifting. Not to mention lacking the know how of advanced driving techniques that are necessary in certain aspects.
I kept thinking to myself too; “he’s gonna have so many difficulties using a paddle shifter whilst drifting.” Then there’s the fact that he kept trying to turn into the drift, thinking the car would slide out. Whether he was trying to do a Scandinavian flick, I don’t know but he didn’t even know to agitate the car prior to the drift enough for the car to break traction.
They had the right idea with the whole ‘clutch kicking’ part. But they didn’t even know how to do that properly or effectively. They were holding onto the clutch rather than just tapping it to get the revs up and give the cars a bit more of a push.
@@sim_1 yeah it just hurts my brain if he had a good teacher who had somewhat of an idea of what they were saying then he shouldve been able to drive normally around a circuit without spinning out. and drifting is way later down the track. or he couldve tried a little flick instead of "trying" to clutch kick and failing terribly. its also pre funny how the guy he wanted kicked was waiting at the entrance so he didnt pull out into oncoming traffic but x crashed into him and wanted him kicked he thinks hes always right and everyone else is in the wrong it hurts my head so much
@@mint_au they’re just in their own world, they don’t know the principles and the ethics either which is gonna make them look like arses to someone that’s experienced and just seeing them for the first time like this. Another nitpick I’d say would be the fact that they went straight for high horsepower, competition level drift cars. What would’ve been better would be to start with a lesser powerful vehicle. It didn’t help neither that they did all this on a public lobby rather than on a private server or in single player.
All in all they made just about every beginner mistake you can make when it comes to drifting, whilst also skipping everything that is necessary and comes before. The knowledge, the technique, the ability to control a car properly even; He exhibits none of this, or at least in the poorest way possible.
@@sim_1 he should’ve learnt with a ways car cause it’s on the lower side of hp and doesn’t have crazy angle but in typical Zac fashion he think he’s the best in everything and everyone else is wrong😂 oh well at least he’s having fun and bringing more people into sim racing
he needs to learn how to drive in a straight line before he drifts
I was gonna comment this lmao
Thats the same thing i was about to say lmao.
its like people who dont even know how to ride a dirtbike but they wanna do wheelies and whips and all sorts of tricks but they cant even move without riding the clutch or hitting the powerband on a 2 stroke then shitting themselves
Gotta get off tando buddies to learn drifting lmaooo
quite a good thing to learn to let the steering wheel to move more by itself than u do .
I dont think he even has ffb on, which is why he's also understeering so muvh
who the hell says put your car in the red and then it starts to drift.... LOL wtf
Yo you’re probably not going to see this. But your seating position is important. You are too close to the wheel, ideally you want to be able to rest your wrists on the top of the wheel with your arms fully extended.
Yeah exactly. And sitting too Close doesn't just limit your control. But in real life, a great way to lose your legs or feet in an accident
also he is just absolute shite XD actualy having seen near the end of the video he did do ok and he was restricted by that
His position literally doesn't matter
@@krasserj4k Okay, so you are wrong. If you’d want an explanation I will waste my time for you, although I assume you are just a watcher of his channel, and don’t race/drive.
@@krasserj4k Say that to Ctoretto or Haugen. You might just get blocked from getting your comments read.

i think poke is in the 1% bottom of the type of people i like if that makes sense it is late lol
he is so close to the wheelll lmao
i drifting in assetto corsa using keyboard and mouse for 30 hours learning lol. now its ez for me to drift
who said this simulator game was a good idea for xQc
Why is he so close to the wheel, also set force feed back
"When car is in the red it drifts", lmaaoo, there's so much wrong with this video.
1.xQc sits too close to the steering wheel,
2. You don't necessarily need to hit redline to initiate drift
3. you need to hit the clutch not the gas pedal when "clutch kicking"
4. you don't need to max out steering wheel when turning into corner, especially when you are trying to initiate drift
those instructions lmao
it hurts watching him learn in a public server
i think learning to drive comes before drifting lol
“Keep it in the red that’s when you’ll drift” 💀💀 whoever is teaching you has never drove in real life
for those who learn how to drift - your main mistake is HOLDING A STEERING WHEEL with your hands, forget about it! let it slip, let a car do the job for you, give it a full throttle for a second, let the wheel steer itself and then counter it. eventually, you'll understand how the car physics work
JUST REMEMBER: DO NOT HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL AND DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION YOURSELF, let the car do everything for you!
Appreciate the tip :)
SMOOTH THROTLE
xQc is slowly getting into car culture...
why poke is not telling him that you gotta turn the wheel the opposite way of where you want to turn it hurt to watch him do it again and again lol
Poke really having difficulty to explain the concept of understeering and oversteering
Poke shouldve only let xqc use a controller to get used to the physics and only then let him play on a wheel.
He should try learning to drive before learning to drift
Clutch kick away from corner then turn into the corner like an S then feather gas counter steer
All it takes is experience my friend but it will take some time.
use the clutch !!!!!
why didnt he just say handbrake? or just power over
I want to see poke drift irl
THE THINGS TO TIGHTEN IT DOWN ARNT ON PROPERLY
he's tense AF but this is a good start Tando buddies are easy cars to drift in assetto corsa
cars that are realistic and hard to drift with are for later
I kind of disagree, I learned on tando buddies cars and switching to other cars was just frustrating cuz of all the bad habits I developed. like every other car felt wrong. then I just forced myself to learn how to drive the WDTS cars and now pretty much any car pack just makes sense and I can pick it up really quickly.
also things like the Tandobuddies and ADC car packs are just really boring compared to the more realistic ones.
@@zwenkwiel816 then you probably didn't perfect the tando buddies because after I did tando buddies I went WDTS then VDC it worked fine for me and my setup is a T150 and ebay handbrake
@@Neb0el lol perfect tandobuddies?! there's nothing to perfect cuz it's literally easy mode. that's kind of the whole point.
once you learn how to drive the more realistic cars all the other ones, including the Tandobuddies and everything, start to make a lot more sense and you realize how bad the tandobuddies actually are.
at least that's how it was for me...
also upgrading my TMX to a T300 changed a lot for me. world of difference if the wheel can actually self steer fast enough
@@zwenkwiel816 yeah pretty much I did like 6 months non stop tando buddies everyday with some of my friends.
@@zwenkwiel816 I mean not everyday but we played a lot
Especially for someone like you you don’t want to learn with a handbrake. You still need to learn the basics of the cars. You kept restarting when your car would stop in the pits. It was stalling because you weren’t using the clutch. A lot of things to learn and get through but I think you could get there.
im crying
Yo, it’s soo funny watching this, lol 😂 For starters, you don’t just RED LINE, you blip it for a second to initiate the drift then modulate the throttle. Also it’s funny that he is so fixated on the hand brake, you definitely don’t need it. I drifted for years without a hand brake, but I did map a button on the wheel, which if you’re good you can use to initiate or if really good you can hit the button mid drift. If you need a better drift teacher just respond to this comment. I have been drifting on a sim wheel for 6 years now
Dude you’re so cool
Yooo how do I sign myself up for this teaching biz I need it so bad
dude can't even drive properly, what do you expect lmfao
Some helpful hints
Ignore the idiot telling you to initiate the drift at red line lol. The more aggressively you initiate the more transitional energy you create and then need to dissipate using more precise and faster steering input, bad idea lol
For Learning, Start with Cornering normally, then Half way around Blip the throttle, Then Quickly Countersteer (to dissipate some of the rotational energy, more aggressively you initiate the more energy) then modulate mild countersteering (keeping the front wheels in the direction you're going, Not the direction the car is facing)
Using more extreme countersteer (wheels steering past the direction of travel) depending how aggressively you initiate the drift, Dissipates the (Weight transfer) energy from that Direction. Only to then create an aggressive transitional- countering energy (Force feedback) Violently snapping the car around
That the best I can do in a few minutes in YT comment lol
i appreciate the good comment. I couldnt be bothered and just swore about it in my comment
What is a accelerate kick
why the f do you go backt to the pit for no reason😂
to not spin out you need to use less throttle

He needs to change gears but just sticks in 2nd the entire time, if Poke had told xQc that he would've done a much better job. The reason he can't turn is because he enters the corner with the clutch fully pressed and so can't power out of the oversteer.
